    Data Governance Analyst

    Role Purpose:

    The Data Governance Analyst will be responsible for ensuring the Data Governance Process runs correctly and enabling rollout of the future phases.

    The Data Governance Analyst will work closely with Enterprise Data Architect, business analysts and technical teams to ensure the processes, standards and solutions designed as part of the wider data governance project are built and implemented to successfully achieve the required business outcomes, specifically in the areas of data management and data quality.

    The role holder will be able to see the “big picture” in terms of data throughout its lifecycle and be able to shape solutions to solve complex data governance challenges.

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    Essential:

    • Understanding of Data Management principles, capabilities, and best practices
    • Understanding Data Governance issues in financial systems.
    • Knowledge of data related regulatory requirements and emerging trends and issues
    • Knowledge in the areas of Reference Data, Data Quality.
    • Working knowledge of Data Management process and solutions
    • Knowledge of Data related topics such as compliance, management and data quality
    • Demonstrated skills, with change management concepts and strategies, including communication, culture change and performance measurement
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a culturally diverse matrix environment.

    PMO Manager (Next Generation Transformation)

    ROLE PURPOSE:

    Over the past 6 years, Save the Children has undertaken significant transformation to ensure alignment in our delivery and efficiency in our processes, which was critical following Save the Children International being established. As we move towards finalising delivery of this critical set of initiatives, we now need to look to the future and focus on how we continue to ensure focus on our ambitious goals for children.

    This next period of change will be managed via the Next Generation Transformation Portfolio. The Portfolio is focused on ensuring the three key enablers of digital, data and localisation will grow the effectiveness of engagement with supporters, delivery of programmes for children and driving efficiencies in our operations.

    The PMO Manager (Next Generation Transformation or ‘Next Gen’) is a key member of the Portfolio Management Office (PMO) team. This team is responsible for defining and maintaining the standards for portfolio management within the organisation, across 60 Country and Regional offices and 30 Member organisations.

    The PMO Manager (Next Gen) will be the PMO business partner for the projects that comprise Next Gen and is broadly responsible for:

    • Building and managing excellent stakeholder relationships
    • Monitoring and quality assuring projects, ensuring projects work within agreed PMO controls
    • Providing support and challenge to IT and business change projects across a wide and varied portfolio
    • Portfolio Management and oversight alongside the Head of Next Gen Portfolio Management.

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    Essential:

    • Knowledge of project, programme, and portfolio management practices, standards, and methodologies (inc. Waterfall)
    • Experienced and qualified in Agile methodology and its application
    • Experience of industry project management standards and holding project management teams accountable to those standards
    • Demonstrable coaching skills to help build the capabilities of others in the area of Project and Change Management
    • Experience in managing a complex portfolio of transformation initiatives or programme or experience of leading a global transformation initiative as a Project Lead or equivalent
    • Experience of working on IT and business focused projects
    • Demonstrable experience of acting as a ‘business partner’ to functional areas e.g. Supply Chain, Finance etc
    • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment with high levels of change and quick turnaround times, whilst delivering to the highest standards
    • Ability to resolve complex project issues, with a balance of pragmatism and rigour
    • Experience setting up and working within project governance structures
    • Experience delivering interventions to support the resolution of issues
    • Experience engaging with complex stakeholder groups and leading engagements with key governance bodies
    • Confident user of standard Microsoft applications, including MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Teams

    Anticipatory Action Program Development Advisor

    Role Purpose:

    Save the Children has committed to scaling funding for Anticipatory Action, risk informed preparedness and DRR and in 2022 formed a team working specifically on Anticipatory Action within the Crisis Anticipation and Response department in the global humanitarian team.

    As a key member of Save the Children International’s Anticipatory Action team, the AA Program Development Advisor will lead efforts to scale funding and program models for Anticipatory Action. Working closely with immediate team members, as well regional, member, and colleagues at country-level, he/she will maintain oversight of program development opportunities, donors and member positions and identify and connect program ideas and models with funding opportunities as well as directly engage with country, regional and global teams in supporting specific opportunities.

    In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly. The role holder may also be required to directly support responses.

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    Essential

    • Bachelor degree in International Development / Social Sciences or related field
    • Solid progressive work experience in aid sector; direct field experience is considered an asset as is a mix of development and humanitarian experience
    • Experience working on anticipatory action, emergency preparedness, DRR, etc. and solid practical and conceptual understanding of this field of work, including complexities in funding and policy direction
    • Demonstrated experience in opportunity generation and donor discussions
    • Proven track record in securing funding from institutional donors
    • Experience securing funding from government donors and multilateral agencies as well as foundations/private sector donors.
    • Experience in coordinating and preparing successful concept notes and proposals for major institutional donors (i.e. USAID, ECHO/INTPA, FCDO, SIDA, etc.). 
    • Experience in leading the development of large-scale and complex proposals, including the development of project budgets greater than $5 million.
    • Experience in coordinating workplans/initiatives across multiple stakeholders at different levels
    • Knowledge of the requirements of major institutional donors including budgeting, eligibility issues, compliance management, and reporting.
    • Highly developed networking skills and ability to form productive working relationships quickly and efficiently.
    • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, including communicating with impact, influencing, negotiation, and coaching.
    • Demonstrated people leadership skills, able to effectively manage stakeholders as well as staff in a matrix management relationship.
    • Cultural awareness and ability to build relationships quickly with a wide variety of people. 
    • Patient, adaptable, flexible, able to improvise and remain responsive and communicate clearly and effectively under pressure, working with a wide range of stakeholders. 
    • Excellent planning, management and coordination skills, with the ability to organize a workload comprised of varying and changing tasks and responsibilities. 
    • Strong communication (written and spoken) in English, with ability to summarize and present information.
    • Good attention to detail and analytical skills. 
    • Computer literate (i.e. Word, advanced Excel, Outlook etc.). 

    Desirable

    • Significant practical experience with Anticipatory Action, Emergency Preparedness, Disaster Risk reduction and experience in developing relevant programs
    • Experience in more than one of the Save the Children priority sectors: education, child protection, child poverty, child rights governance, health and nutrition, cash, food security and livelihoods.
    • Experience of working with award management processes and systems (for example, Save the Children’s award management system (AMS).
    • Fluency in other languages, particularly French, Spanish, Portuguese or Arabic

    Research and Evaluation Unit Manager

    Role Purpose:

    The Research and Evaluation (R&E) Manager is a senior member of the Global R&E Unit. The primary role is to manage a team of a team of R&E Specialists, Officers and Associates deployed to deliver studies for Save the Children.

    The role of the R&E Manager is to:

    • Manage the R&E Unit staff and project portfolio/pipeline,
    • Provide a quality and timely service in communicating R&E Unit services, responding to and delivering R&E Unit requests
    • Pitch for and project manage large multi-country studies
    • Conduct R&E Unit management and Key Performance Indicator monitoring and reporting

    Note that this role has limited direct involvement in conducting research, evaluations or other types of studies however, will review R& Terms of References and manage R&E projects and quality assurance.

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    Essential

    • Significant experience in effectively managing research, assessments and evaluations, including research proposals, pitches and partnerships.
    • High-level fluency in English, both verbal and written.
    • High-level management and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Knowledge of research funding mechanisms and processes such as academic research funders, industry-funders, or large trusts and foundations
    • Experience coordinating, writing and securing research-related grants
    • Experience with procurement, contracting and budget management, including working to cost recovery and income targets
    • Experience of developing and maintaining partnerships, especially with academic partners

    • A proven track record of developing and implementing DEI and safety and security interventions in international organisation, including to support LGBTQI+ staff in the workplace
    • In-depth knowledge of DEI and LGBTQI+-inclusive workplace best practices, concepts and interventions
    • Significant experience working in and across a variety of global contexts and cultures
    • Prior experience designing DEI interventions in a workplace setting including trainings and workshops
    • Familiarity with legal matters related to DEI including the Equality Act 2010
    • Excellent IT skills, to include Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, collaborative style and approach, and ability to work both independently and effectively across cultures, functions and geographically dispersed teams
