    Residential Maintenance Coordinator (Landlord Coordinator)

    Duties

    The Facility Management Landlord Coordinator is responsible for liaising with the landlords' representatives concerning issues and deficiencies associated with approximately 230 leased properties. They will ensure that repairs and general maintenance, required by the landlord done safely and responsibly. incumbent will assess the building's condition including structural, electrical, and plumbing and ensure clear communication with the occupants on the status of landlord work being performed. They will inform the Facility Manager and the GSO Leasing office of landlord communication issues and document all actions taken. The jobholder will assist the Make Ready Supervisor with the scheduling of make ready activities including coordination of the landlords' contractors. The jobholder will also assist in preparing and reviewing all documentation related to the operation of the U.S. Government leased residences.  Position will be supervised by the Deputy Facility Manager.

    Qualifications and Evaluations

    Requirements:

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Three (3) years of professional, full-time experience as a building inspector with a public or private agency is required.

    JOB KNOWLEDGE:  

    • Knowledge of the International Building Code and the Kenyan Building Codes is required.
    • Standards, methods and practices in the local construction industry is required.
    • Knowledge of the local real estate market, laws, and regulations required.
    • Must be fully knowledgeable in the local leasing laws and customs
    • Must have broad knowledge of the engineering and construction environment

    Education Requirements

    • Completion of secondary school and two (2) years of vocational training that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities for a building inspector is required.

    Public Health Specialist (Health Management Information Systems)

    Duties

    The job holder serves as a Public Health Specialist supporting Division of Global HIV and Tuberculosis (DHGT)/President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) activities for the implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of assigned public health program activities and studies.

    Job holder plays an essential role in developing annual program strategies, budgets, and drafts regular progress reports related to program activities. Job holder’s duties include technical support, advice and guidance, day-to-day program and administrative management and coordination and collaboration with colleagues of other agencies and public health entities that administer similar public health programs in Kenya. Job holder coordinates funding, report compliance and administrative recordkeeping with the implementing partners to assure projects are conducted in accordance with the implementing agreement and that USG funds are appropriately utilized. The position requires public health technical knowledge, results-oriented analytical skills, advocacy, and constant and clear communication with implementing partners, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and host country ministries responsible for public health HIV and TB Health Management Information Systems programs.

    Qualifications and Evaluations

    Requirements:

    EXPERIENCE:  

    Three years of mid-to-senior level public health experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating public health programs or other relevant public health programs that involve coordination with an international agency or implementing partner is required.

    JOB KNOWLEDGE:  

    Detailed knowledge of current host country public health issues. Knowledge of general program design, implementation, and evaluation is also required. In-depth knowledge of various public health services including prevention, emergency response, care and treatment services, counseling and testing, interventions, behavior change, and treatment is required. Detailed knowledge of the host government health care system and structures, including familiarity with MOH policies, program priorities, and regulations is required. Good working knowledge of team management techniques to plan, organize and direct multi-disciplinary activities is required. Good working knowledge of overall administrative requirements, such as timelines and utilizing systems and databases, and processing requirements; budgeting and fiscal management in support of implementing grants, cooperative agreements, and contracts is required.

    • Master’s degree, or host country equivalent, in informatics, computer science, biostatistics, public health, or epidemiology is required.

    Customer Engagement Supervisor (Information Management Specialist) - In-house Applicants Only

    Job Overview

    • The Customer Engagement Supervisor (CES) is responsible for supporting all equipment, applications, and cloud services at Embassy Nairobi. As a senior member of the 17-person Information Systems Center, the CES provides leadership and guidance to agile teams, serving as a frequent technical project manager and lead. Additional duties include managing SharePoint, Power Platforms, physical and virtual servers, routers, switches, cloud-based applications and services, mass data storage devices, virtual private network (VPN) connections, digital signage, audio-visual solutions, and various other hardware and software components. Together, these provide access to one of the largest and most complex embassies in the world. The CES also manages all forms of computer peripherals and network host devices, such as workstations, providing technical expertise and support to all users, both locally and remotely.
    • As part of hardware management, the incumbent updates IT asset locations in the asset management system every time there is a location change. The CES creatively engineers and designs technical business solutions and advises on and directs procurements, including leading technical evaluations of vendors and products. The incumbent continuously monitors and evaluates the life cycle of system components, upgrading and refreshing as necessary to optimize performance. The ITS continually learns and expands their skill set to stay abreast of new technology trends and supports new projects and technologies as they emerge. The incumbent is key to cybersecurity, proactively maintaining, patching, and upgrading systems to avoid downtime and ensure data integrity. The position also promotes awareness of cybersecurity guidelines and policies through examples, user training, and consulting.
    • As the innovation lead, the incumbent works closely with users in understanding their requirements, analyzes current Department of State business processes, innovates and works closely with Business Process Solutions team in coming up with solutions. The position is the champion of new innovations and solutions in the mission, providing and managing training opportunities for customers locally and regionally.

    Qualifications and Evaluations

    Requirements:

    • All selected candidates must be able to obtain and hold a: 
    • Police cl earance certificate.

    All selected  candidates will be subject to a background investigation and may be subject to a pre-employment medical exam. Selected candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time 12 weeks upon receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

    Education Requirements:

    A University degree in the field of computer science or information technology is required.
