    Advisor, Faith & Staff Formation Capacity Building

    Job Description:

    Job purpose

    • This position provides high-quality guidance, facilitation, and practical support to World Vision staff to support the development of skills, capacities, and competencies needed to apply biblical/theological knowledge to inform their service in the Partnership. Most of this support is to be done virtually, digitally and through diverse, dynamic, and innovative adult learning and capacity-building methods. New and existing approaches and technologies to be utilized and improved upon for highest efficiency and impact. 
    • This position requires the ability to oversee several learning cohorts running simultaneously in both virtual and live environments and provide critical support and feedback to all participants. 

    Key Job Responsibilities

    Capacity Building Management & Delivery  

    • Facilitate (virtually and in-person) cohorts of learners participating in programmes within the Faith & Staff Formation portfolio 
    • Facilitate virtual webinars for both promotion and implementation of programmes and resources within the Faith & Staff Formation portfolio 
    • Provide coaching/feedback to learners 

    With guidance from Sr. Advisor, Faith & Staff Formation Learning & Development: 

    • Utilize existing and emerging technology (Teams, Zoom, OneDrive/One Note, O365, etc.) to continually streamline and enhance the learner experience.   
    • Deliver programmes within World Vision’s various learning platforms (including WVCentral, WorkDay Learning, eCampus and Teams).   
    • Provide data analysis to track impact from learning outcomes to drive innovation/quality. 

    Learning & Development Collaboration and Learning 

    • Collaborate with Sr. Advisor, F&SF Learning & Development and subject matter experts to develop and deliver course content, both virtually and face-to-face.   
    • Consult with other Global Centre Learning & Development teams, including P&C, to support coherency in overall leader development strategy and content 
    • Support in the evaluation of learning product effectiveness and the revision of content as needed. 
    • Collaborate with Sr. Advisor for Faith & Development Communications to provide value-add communications across the breadth of relevant internal communication channels.   
    • Partner with P&C, DM and VFI Learning & Development leads to share best practice. 
    • Effectively work with a diverse group of stakeholders, from across the Partnership, hailing from different Christian traditions and denominations. 

    Assigned stretch goals and ad-hoc projects. 

    • As assigned by the supervisor or representative.
    • Measurable growth in training and capacity building, self-assigned improvements, and professional development.

    Required Education & Professional Experience for the Role

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.  Master's preferred.
    • 3-5 years of experience with live/in-person capacity building of adult learners, utilizing participatory techniques
    • High digital literacy and ability to effectively navigate, influence, and support adult learning and capacity building in a digital, virtual environment.  
    • Solid understanding of training needs assessment and adult learning principles. 
    • Demonstrated understanding of and appreciation for WV’s Faith & Development work and the broad range of Christian traditions and denominations that are represented within World Vision 
    • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with a capacity to adapt effectively across cultures.  Able to remain calm, in control, and good-humored, even under pressure.  Able to remain flexible and manage change, both in the “classroom” but also in priorities, timelines, and deliverables.   
    • Able to manage time and workload across multiple priorities. 
    • Experience communicating Christian faith expression/trends in post-Christian, other faith predominant, and majority secular contexts. 
    • Exemplary personal Christian commitment, pointing to a vibrant and maturing Christian life 

    Required Language, Travel and/or Work Environment Accommodations

    • Effective English communication and presentation skills to facilitate virtual and live activities in a professional and learner-focused manner.
    • May travel up to 30% both domestically and/or internationally.

    Research, Learning, and Knowledge Management Intern

    Job Description:

    • The Research, Learning and Knowledge Management Intern will support the development of the regional research and Knowledge Management (KM) strategy and coordinate implementation of various initiatives.  The role coordinates the generation, building, and sharing of knowledge to enhance child wellbeing through WV programs. The role shall work closely with the Strategy and Programme Quality department, with the support and coaching of the Monitoring and Evaluation Advisor, and in collaboration with other teams and leaders to support in the implementation and tracking of the partnership/regional office learning agenda. The role shall support, in collaboration with the communication and GAM units, the sharing of key updates, reports, and success stories in line with the three focus areas (Impact, Influence, and Income). The intern will also track the implementation of the Box project for timely document updates that would ensure ease of access and collaboration within (and across) teams.

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

    Support documentation, content creation and learning (40%)

    • Support mapping of NO and regional researches in line with Research Agenda and Plans
    • Support the development of summary research findings with the related offices and/or units
    • Review research and learning reports for quality and compliance to set standards
    • Research various topics and subjects as assigned, including in providing data on indicators of interest
    • Document research recommendations and track their implementation, enabling agility in programming
    • Provide technical support for quality research where appropriate
    • Support in packaging learning information and publications
    • Support quality documentation of regional learning forums
    • Producing reports, summaries, presentations, and other materials to communicate findings and insights
    • Support in meta-analysis of research projects and evaluation reports
    • Manage data base and information on university and research institution partners.

    Support review, updating and tracking Knowledge Management platforms (35%)

    • Provide technical support in content development in the Strategy and Programme Quality and other departments
    • Support in the review of files and resources updated in Knowledge Management platforms, ensuring their quality and usability.
    • Collaborate with Knowledge Management Champions in updating resources on related KM platforms
    • Track the implementation of Knowledge Management in line with the Critical to Quality framework
    • Support to organize and maintain knowledge repositories, such as databases, or document management systems.
    • Support in setting up and managing Box folder structures and naming in compliance to the WVI EARO Knowledge Management Protocol
    • Support development of questionnaire and data collection on research and Km initiatives.

    Support capacity building (15%)

    • Provide technical support in the use of Box and other Knowledge Management platforms including wvcentral, MS Teams, and Onedrive amongst others
    • Support staff orientation on the use of KM platforms

    Admin support and Others (10%)

    • Handling scheduling, coordination, and other administrative tasks related to learning and knowledge management activities.
    • Adherence to Ethical and Regulatory Standards: Following ethical guidelines, ensuring research practices align with established standards and regulations.
    • Perform any other duty as may be assigned by supervisor or designee from time to time
    • Participate and contribute in committees and task forces as may be signed from time to time
    • Support and follow up communication with field offices, GC and university partners.
    • Organize scheduling and note taking for CHILD advisory group engagements.

    KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATION FOR THE ROLE

    Required Professional Experience

    • A Masters Degree in research-related courses, including but not limited to Statistics, Economics, Data Science, Project Management, or any related field of study. 
    • Relevant and good exposure in the field
    • Demonstrate ability to integrate Faith and development in work and life

    Required Education,training, license,registration, and certification

    • Must have good interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Must be well respected in society for Christian values and professionalism.
    • Good knowledge and commitment to WV’s ethos, philosophy of work and CORE documents.
    • Demonstrated Leadership skills evidenced by previous leadership roles in a church, Christian Union and/or para church organization.
    • Recent East African graduate eligible to work in Kenya are encouraged to apply
    • Must possess sound biblical beliefs.

    • Strong organizational skills, independent judgment, and the ability to be flexible as the demands and priorities change.
    • Commitment to continuous learning and willingness to keep abreast of new developments in the field of development.
