Job Objective:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise system solutions that support business operations across the organization. The role focuses on system design, application development, and database architecture, building well-engineered customizations, integrations, and automated workflows that improve data integrity, system performance, and operational efficiency. The IT & Systems Engineer will work closely with system administrators, developers, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and well-governed system enhancements. Exposure to ERP platforms such as NetSuite, and an understanding of financial or accounting processes, is an added advantage.

Reporting Line: IT Development Manager

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable system architecture and technical solutions that support core business processes across the organization
• Design, develop, and maintain custom applications and system extensions using JavaScript (ES5/ES6) as the primary development language, with experience in Python, Java, or other languages considered an added advantage, including event-driven scripts, client-side logic, API endpoints, and scheduled/background jobs
• Create and maintain custom records, forms, fields, and workflow automations 
• Build scripting and automation solutions to streamline business workflows, improve data accuracy, and increase process efficiency across enterprise platforms
• Troubleshoot system issues, script errors, and performance bottlenecks 
• Ensure system changes follow development standards and architectural best practices, and maintain structured documentation for scripts and customizations
• Extend system functionality to support other operational units such as procurement, inventory, billing, and operations where required
• Design and develop integrations between core systems and external platforms such as CRM systems, billing systems, payment gateways, and other operational systems, using REST/SOAP APIs and middleware connectors
• Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and data models to support application performance and data integrity
• Build logic for data transformation, validation, and synchronization across systems, ensuring data accuracy, reconciliation, and integrity across enterprise datasets
• Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and saved searches supporting business and operational reporting; optimize reporting structures, database queries, and data extraction processes
• Support business teams during critical operational cycles where system enhancements or troubleshooting are required
• Ensure system enhancements align with security, controls, and governance standards
• Participate in system audits, testing, and compliance activities, and maintain version control and testing practices for system development
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, system administrators, and developers to translate functional requirements into well-architected technical solutions and support business requirements
• Provide technical guidance to stakeholders on system capabilities and improvements
• Identify and implement opportunities to automate business workflows and improve operational efficiency through system enhancements

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field
• Certification in software architecture, system design, or a cloud platform (e.g. AWS, Azure, or equivalent) – Preferred/Advantage.
• Database certification (e.g. Microsoft/Oracle SQL certification) – Preferred/Advantage
• NetSuite SuiteCloud Developer or NetSuite ERP Consultant Certification – Nice to have
• Accounting certification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) – Good to have

Experience and Skills

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in systems/software engineering, application development, or a related technical role
• Strong experience with system design and software architecture, including designing scalable, secure, and maintainable technical solutions
• Proficient in JavaScript (ES5/ES6) as the primary development language, with experience in Python, Java, or other languages considered an added advantage; comfortable writing clean, maintainable server-side and client-side code
• Strong database design and SQL skills, including data modeling, schema design, query optimization, and working with structured datasets
• Experience designing and implementing REST and SOAP API integrations between systems and external platforms
• Experience debugging, testing, and optimizing application or script performance in enterprise systems
• Development and customization of system workflows, including automation of business processes
• Experience creating and maintaining custom records, fields, forms, and reporting customizations within business systems
• Experience integrating enterprise platforms such as CRM systems, billing systems, or other operational systems
• Understanding of system audit trails, security, and governance practices within enterprise systems
• Good to have: strong understanding of financial systems and accounting processes, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, billing, and revenue recognition
• Good to have: experience supporting financial reporting, reconciliation, and financial data integrity processes
• Nice to have: experience working with NetSuite or another ERP platform, including customization, scripting, and integration development

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable React-based web applications, collaborating with designers and backend developers to deliver intuitive user interfaces and enhance user experience.

Reporting Line: IT Development Manager

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, development, and maintenance of scalable, high-performance React-based web applications
• Collaborate with other designers, back-end developers, and stakeholders to create visually stunning, intuitive, and user-friendly interfaces
• Ensure seamless integration of UI components with APIs and back-end systems
• Optimize applications for performance, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility
• Implement and advocate for modern UI/UX best practices, responsive design, and interactive animations
• Conduct code peer reviews, contribute to the development of in-house libraries, and promote technical excellence
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for UI components, including structure, functionality, integrations, testing strategies, libraries, versioning, and troubleshooting guidelines to support onboarding and system handover
• Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging UI technologies, and design innovations
• Maintain high standards of code quality, reusability, and maintainability
• Identify opportunities and champion business process improvements and automations
• Compile and assess user feedback to recommend software products and improve system performance
• Collaborate with team members to schedule, plan, control and implement the software release process, windows, and cycles
• Report on weekly scrums on progress towards tasks, milestone status, and barriers needing attention
• Aid and support the coaching and training of end users to ensure they are confident in the use of software applications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, UI/UX Design,, Information Technology or a related field from a recognized university

Experience and Skills

• Candidates with a strong UI design portfolio will be highly preferred. Please share links to previous projects or design showcases for review
• 3+ years of experience in UX design and development, with a strong focus on React.js and modern JavaScript framework
• Expertise in React.js, TypeScript, NextJS, and modern state management libraries (e.g. Redux)
• Experience with design tools like Figma, Adobe XD, Adobe Photoshop, or Sketch to translate designs into code
• Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, Tailwind, Material Design, and responsive design techniques
• Deep understanding of performance optimization, accessibility (WCAG standards), and cross-browser compatibility
• Experience with unit testing and UI test automation frameworks
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• A keen eye for aesthetics, animations, and micro-interactions to elevate user experience
• Proven experience in building pixel-perfect, visually appealing UIs with a deep understanding of UI/UX principles
