    National Global Platform Manager (Re-Advertised), Nanyuki

    Main purpose

    The Global Platform Manager will head the Global Platforms in Kenya and is primarily in charge of overall management, strategic planning, financial planning and external communication. Specifically, she/he will support development of proposals for capacity building in accordance with the Country Strategy Paper (CSP), facilitate training design and management, facilitate development of appropriate programmes, develop and sustain strategic partnerships and networks; ensure effective financial management and compliance,  and manage the National Global Platform team.

    Minimum requirements

    1. University degree in social sciences, international relations, development studies, or a related field;
    2. Minimum 5 years of people management experience especially of a training programme/ programmes with capacity building components;
    3. Capacity to coordinate trainings with an advocacy and campaigns lens as well as youth programming;
    4. Ability to operate effectively across organizational boundaries, establish and maintain effective partnerships and harmonious working relations in a multi-cultural environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity and gender;
    5. Previous experience in working with youth volunteer programs, social movements or mobilization of young people;
    6. Past experience in peer to peer learning, participatory training methods and action research is desirable.

    Programme Manager – Women’s Rights And Governance (Re-Advertised), Nairobi

    Main purpose

    Under the general direction and guidance of the Programmes and Strategy Lead, the Programme Manager – Women’s Rights and Governance will be responsible to provide leadership, growth and coordination of AAIK’s work on engaging with the national social movements and coalitions for policy influencing on women rights. The execution will focus on strengthening the approaches to realise the organization’s aspirations on Women’s Rights and Governance. Programme Manager -Women’s Rights and Governance will be responsible for strategic direction, growth and coordination of AAIK’s work on engaging with the national social movements and coalitions for policy influencing on women rights issues and manage approaches to women rights and governance work. The role will conceptualize, design, mobilize resources, implement and report on initiatives, monitoring programme quality, documentation and dissemination of innovations and good practices. The role holder will oversee cost effective programmes in Women Rights governance programmes aimed at building the capacity of women and girls from communities living in poverty and exclusion to gain power to secure their rights. S/he will ensure that the Women’s Rights and Governance programming is of excellent technical quality, attracts significant donor funding and contributes to AAIK’s strategic objectives, national/global learning, and advocacy.

    Minimum requirements

    1. A bachelor’s degree in social sciences, policy development or its equivalent from a recognized University;
    2. A minimum of six (6) years post-academic experience in women’s rights and governance programming;
    3. Demonstrable experience in working within influential coalitions and networks;
    4. Demonstrable experience in advocacy and campaigns on women’s rights and governance programming;
    5. Demonstrable experience in building capacity of partners and staff on Disaster Response, Risk reduction and resilience building;
    6. Experience of managing partnership relationships; and
    7. Understanding of different donor requirements and ways of working.

    Trainer -Global Contact (Nanyuki)

    Main purpose

    The Trainer -Global Contact will be a dedicated and innovative individual who will aid in running and improving the Global Platform trainings as well as developing new innovative courses. This position will also work closely with Voluntary Programmes Coordinator to contextualize and evaluate trainings. she/he will develop, organise, conduct and evaluate trainings at the Global Platform, ensuring all trainings are participatory with a strong linkage to the surrounding community and context.

    Minimum Requirements

    1. Bachelor’s degree in education, social studies or any development field;
    2. At least 2-3 years post degree working experience;
    3. Documented experience in conducting training and development of participatory training courses;
    4. Experience in working with and promoting Social Justice;
    5. Demonstrated experience with activism, advocacy work, campaigning and lobbyism;
    6. Demonstrated work with youth empowerment and capacity building of youth groups.

    Trainer, Emergencies and Resilient Livelihoods (Nanyuki)

    Main purpose

    The Trainer, Emergencies and Resilient Livelihoods  will be a dedicated and innovative individual who will aid in running and improving the Global Platform trainings as well as developing new innovative courses. This position will also work closely with Senior Program Manager – Livelihoods, Land and Resilience to contextualize and evaluate trainings. She/he will develop, organise, conduct and evaluate livelihood trainings at the Global Platform, ensuring all trainings are participatory with a strong linkage to the surrounding community and context.

    Minimum Requirements

    2. At least 2-3 years post degree working experience ;
    3. Documented experience in conducting training and development of participatory training courses;
    4. Good understanding of climate change related issues, global principles governing humanitarian work globally and natural resources governance;
    5. A fair understanding of priority campaign issues in climate justice, natural resources governance and humanitarian sector;
    6. Experience in working with and promoting Social Justice;
    7. Demonstrated experience with activism, advocacy work, campaigning and lobbyism;
    8. Demonstrated work with youth empowerment and capacity building of youth groups.
