    Branch Manager - 2 Positons

    Job Objective/Purpose

    To ensure that the systems which guarantee that Avenue Healthcare’s defined policies, protocols, procedures and standards are adhered to by all staff.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Initiate and maintain proper management and treatment of patients.
    • Be involved in people management in coordination with the HR department.
    • Lead the clinic in management of resources effectively and efficiently.
    • Lead in the development and enhancement of scope of services.
    • Participation in incident reporting, root cause analysis and Quality Improvement Plan.
    • Ensure there is utmost patient satisfaction.
    • Responsible for Clinical risk management within the Clinic.
    • Responsible for developing and implementation of annual budgets for the clinic

    Personal Specifications

    • Be a holder of a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery or A nursing Diploma/BsN in Nursing
    • Experience in management/ master’s degree will be an added advantage
    • A valid KMPDB license or valid Nursing Council License
    • Up to date BLS, ACLS/ATLS certificate
    • Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience.

    Business Analyst

    Job Objective/Purpose

    To support the CEO and SLT, perform financial analysis to assist in management decisions and monitor implementation of the overall business plans.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist the CEO with daily tasks, follow up and monitoring of important matters and project management.
    • To support the business units, perform financial analysis, report findings to assist in management decisions.
    • Undertake detailed research and analysis to assist in management decisions.
    • Actively work with and monitor the financial performance of business units and prepare and review budgets and forecasts.
    • Assist with preparation and review of Board Packs.
    • Coordinate and review content of monthly recurring management meetings in the CEO office.

    General Nurse - 2 Positions

    Job Objective/Purpose

    The Nurse will be responsible for ensuring quality care within the clinic and must adhere to Avenue Healthcare’s defined policies, protocols, procedures and standards.

    Key Responsibilities

     

    • Ensure proper inventory of the available equipment on a daily basis and ensure that they are in good working condition. Report any malfunction to the Branch Manager
    • Maintain and enforce infection control standards per the Avenue policies and observe the infection control bundles (SSI, VAP, CAUTI and CLABSI) where applicable.
    • Ensure patients safety following the 6 International Patient Safety Goals (IPSGs) (patient identification, effective communication, safety of high alert medication, ensure correct site procedure and surgery, reduce the risk of healthcare associated infections, reduce the risk of patient harm resulting from falls)
    • Provides patient and family education/teaching applicable to the patient’s medical condition.
    • Organize emergency trolley for ease of use during resuscitation. The drugs and supplies should be well stocked, damaged equipment removed and reported promptly.
    • Manage the clinic’s triage process, prioritizing care to emergencies and needy cases.
    • Manage the clinic’s diary- book patients and inform patients of any changes, delays, cancellations or other relevant information
    • Assist with queue management and inform the patients of any anticipated delays
    • Perform all invasive nursing procedures under aseptic technique
    • Collection of KEPI vaccines from the depot, maintenance of daily cold chain records, ensuring no stock outs.
    • Managing and assisting the doctors in running the Ante Natal, Well Baby, Diabetic, Obs/Gynae, VCTT, Review & other clinics as per AHC guidelines.
    • Compiling government reports and submitting them by 2nd of every month
    • Special Clinic and Chronic Care patients follow up; keep an updated list of the special clinics/Chronic Care patients, manage their follow up by active call back, defaulter tracing, address or escalate their concerns.
    • Adhere to Government and respective professional standards of care and treatment of patients as guided by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
    • Any other duty as assigned by the supervisor

    Laboratory Superintendent

    Job Objective/Purpose

    The Laboratory Superintendent will be responsible for ensuring provision of high quality laboratory diagnostic services in the clinic as defined by Avenue Healthcare’s policies, protocols, procedures and standards.

    Key Responsibilities

     

    • Maintain all laboratory equipment in good working condition.
    • Timely and accurate billing of laboratory services.
    • Stock management by performing daily/spot stock counts of lab supplies and report shortages to the Branch Manager
    • Perform daily Internal Quality Control procedures as defined by Avenue Group SOPs.
    • Follow laid down Lab Board approved rules for medical lab profession and adhere to Government and respective professional standards of care and treatment of patients.
    • Timely response to emergencies.
    • Carry out tests based on outlined SOPs & policies.
    • Maintain infection control standards when carrying out lab tests.
    • Observe proper disposal of medical waste
    • Equipment and other laboratory surfaces are properly disinfected with the right disinfectants
    • Observe and practice high quality of service through effective communication, prompt feedback and escalation of any unresolved issues to the Branch Manager.
    • Always Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
    • Prevention of lab related errors by following the laid down policies and procedures on sample handling during pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical phases of testing

    • A Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences or related discipline.
    • A Valid practicing license from Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board

    Pharmacy Superintendent - 2 Positions

    Job Objective/Purpose

    The Pharmaceutical Superintendent will be responsible for ensuring that high quality standards are maintained at all times in the provision of medication and medical consumables per Avenue Healthcare’s defined policies and procedures.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Ensure that the Pharmacy has the necessary equipment and ensure that they are in good working condition.
    • All processed drug orders should be checked, and counter signed by the nurse and the Pharmacy Superintendent.
    • Ensure that all insurances exclusion lists are adhered to.
    • Ensure that the Pharmacy is well stocked as per the set re-order levels. Do daily counts, spot counts, monthly stock takes and give a timely, accurate report with valid explanation on variances and expiries to the Branch Manager.
    • Prevention of medication errors by counter checking and verifying the prescription/ treatment sheets on doses, allergies, patient identification, right drug, legibility and give clear usage instructions.
    • DDA to be dispensed as per the laid down policy, checked weekly and any discrepancies reported to the Branch Manager.
    • Drugs/surgical items expiry management.
    • Record and report all sentinel incidents/events to the Branch Manager within 24 hours using the provided tools.
    • Maintain and enforce infection control standards when doing extemporaneous preparations.
    • Ensure client satisfaction through high quality of service, effective communication, prompt feedback and escalation of any unresolved issues to the relevant person for follow up.
    • Always maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

    Personal Specifications

    • A diploma in Pharmacy
    • A valid pharmaceutical technologist license
    • 3 years experience

    Radiographer - 2 Positions

    Job Objective/Purpose

    The Pharmaceutical Superintendent will be responsible for ensuring that high quality standards are maintained at all times in the provision of medication and medical consumables per Avenue Healthcare’s defined policies and procedures.

    Key Responsibilities

     

    • Perform imaging procedures on patients to meet the established practice parameters and standards of care while ensuring client satisfaction.
    • Processing and printing of quality and appropriate images to assist in diagnosis.
    • Ensuring availability and optimum utilization of consumables for cost effectiveness.
    • Producing timely and accurate results in line with Imaging SOPs
    • To ensure real time billing of all procedures has been done before they are carried out.
    • Accurate identification and preparation of the client prior to imaging procedures
    • Counseling of patients and next of kin about the procedure and obtain consent.
    • To provide high quality care and services and maintaining the professional ethics.
    • Ensure radiation safety within the facility for both staff and patients.
    • Adhere to Infection Prevention Control measures per the hospital policies.
    • Performs calibration and routine preventive maintenance on imaging equipment per the established procedures and protocols.
    • Safeguard and provide basic maintenance and safety of imaging equipment in the facility.
    • Report daily to the Branch Manager on the status and usage of radiology equipment, and radiology supplies
    • Track and report equipment downtime
    • Track and report equipment usage
    • Daily monitoring of stock levels to ensure no stock outs and provide feedback to the Radiology Manager for new orders.
    • Maintain imaging records, ensure filing of patient records and tests results to comply with the legislative regulations.
    • Tracking and check patient images and correct reports from the radiologists
    • Advice on appropriate and/or additional imaging procedure to aide in diagnosis.

    Personal Specifications

    • Higher Diploma in Ultrasound.
    • Diploma in Medical Imaging Sciences.
    • 2 years working experience in a similar position. Registered and licenced by the Kenya Nuclear Regulatory Authority
    • Special skills in Echocardiography will be an added advantage.
    • Radiation and Protection Board Licence
    • 2 years working experience in a similar position
