    Associate Professor in International Relations

    Purpose of the Job

    Contributing to the scholarship and intellectual life of the university by teaching, developing quality research papers and mentoring students’ performance in line with the institution’s guidelines in Academic Affairs to achieve overall objectives.
     
    Requirements:

    • An earned PhD in International Relations or Political Science, or equivalent qualifications from an accredited university
    • 3 years university teaching experience as Senior Lecturer or equivalent  
    • Minimum of 48 publication points of which 32 should be from refereed scholarly journals
    • Supervised a minimum of 4 postgraduate students to completion including at least 1 doctoral student
    • Registered with relevant professional body • Christian commitment and practice

    Responsibilities:

    • Carrying out independent research as a principal investigator and project member
    • Publishing research outcomes in appropriate referred journal of international standing and disseminate the results of research and scholarship in other outlets 
    • Engaging in fundraising for research development and consultancy
    • Conducting workshops, seminars and conference at university and national levels
    • Supervising PhD students and coaching of lecturers within the department and the school
    • Providing leadership in the development of innovative and attractive courses, shaping and influencing curriculum development for quality assurance
    • Mentoring of students in academic and spiritual nurture
    • Evaluating and assessing of undergraduate and post graduate students by conducting internal examination
    • Conducting professional training within the ILPD organized programs

    Senior Lecturer in International Relations

    Internal Auditor

    Purpose of the job

    Implementing the audit strategy by auditing the University’s policies, systems, processes and procedures to ensure risks are identified and recommendations made for compliance while providing an independent and objective assurance that the University’s internal controls are adequate and operating effectively.
     
    Requirements

    • Master’s degree in business from an accredited University
    • 5 years audit experience 
    • Full CPA (K) and CISA qualifications
    • Registered with the relevant professional bodies • Christian commitment and practice

    Responsibilities

    Reporting to the Audit and Compliance Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for: 

    • Carrying out and examining compliance with policies, procedures and sound practices in line with the University strategy
    • Evaluating the adequacy of the system of internal controls including overall alignment and compliance to the set standards
    • Identifying and reporting to management on significant risks in the various processes
    • Contributing the assigned areas in the preparation of internal audit plan
    • Preparing training materials and sensitizing risk champions and the University community on best practices that enable audit compliance 
    • Ensuring safe custody and retrieval of the audit documents • Carrying out independent verification of University assets
    • Carrying out investigations relating to any financial misappropriation and non-compliance

    Senior Systems Developer

    Purpose of the job

    Participating in the creation of new products and enhancements to existing products from concept to launch as part of a cross-functional project team to achieve compelling easy to use ICT products.  
     
    Requirements

    • Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science or its equivalent from an accredited University.  
    • Five (5) years relevant experience.
    • Experience in academic institution of higher learning is an added advantage.
    • Experience in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, NAVISION and related integrations with Library, HR & Payroll systems.  
    • Working knowledge of JAVA, SQL, Javascript, Nodejs, Angular, PostgreSQL, Linux, Python. 
    • Certificate in ITIL, Project Management will be an added advantage. 
    • Masters’ degree in Computer Science will be an added advantage

    Responsibilities

    • Analysing user requirements, researching, designing and writing new software programs  
    • Develop software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle. 
    • Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions. 
    • Documenting and demonstrating solutions by developing the documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.  
    • Responding promptly and professionally to bug reports. 
    • Improve operations by conducting systems analysis recommending changes in policies and procedures. 
    • Obtains and licenses software by obtaining required information from vendors; recommending purchases; testing and approving products 
    • Evaluating the software and systems that make computers and hardware work. 
    • Writing operational documentation with technical authors.  
    • Maintaining systems by monitoring and correcting software defects. 
    • Working closely with other staff, such as project managers, graphic designers, developers, systems analysts, among others.
    • Protect operations by keeping the information confidential. 
    • Preparation of training manuals and training users. 
    • Continually updating technical knowledge and skills by attending in-house and/or external courses, reading manuals and accessing new applications. 
    • Ensuring Christian and appropriate behaviour, both internal and external, in line with the institution’s Strategy
