    Greensteds School is situated 140 km north of Nairobi, in the heart of Kenya’s Rift Valley and within ten minutes’ drive of Lake Nakuru National Park. The School is set in a rural, secluded, 50-acre site and is one of the leading International boarding schools in Kenya serving internationally minded families, from all over the world.

Our Sports & Performing Arts departments complement and supplement our academicvprogramme and our very strong team of teachers are expected to contribute in one or more of these areas.     About the job

    The Head of Junior School will also be the Head of Pastoral Care for the whole school. The Head of Junior School has responsibility for the management of the Junior School, including the Early Years School situated within the compound. He/She also plays a key role as part of the Senior Leadership Team, reporting to the Headmaster

    Qualifications

    1. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
    2. Teaching qualification(primary)
    3. Qualified Teacher Status(QTS)
    4. Evidence of further professional development

    Knowledge and experience

    1. Strong and evident pastoral leadership Experience of leading on, or supporting the
    2. leadership of, Safeguarding in school Working strategically as a Senior Management Team (SMT) Member
    3. Progressive experience in leadership positions
    4. Primary School teaching experience Experience in working in a school in an international content
    5. Experience of working with data Experience of working with data in a growing school

    8. Sound understanding of school leadership issues and inspection experience

    KEY STAGE 1/2 TEACHER PERSON SPECIFICATION

    We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, confident, dedicated and positive Junior School teacher to join a friendly, passionate and hardworking team. A fantastic attitude is a prerequisite. The Junior school children are a wonderful group and have come up with some qualities they would like a new teacher at Greensteds to have;

    Job Description

    Primary school teachers develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives. They facilitate learning and pupils’ progress by establishing a positive relationship with pupils, and by their organization of learning resources and a stimulating classroom learning environment. They assess and record progress, they link pupils' knowledge to earlier learning and develop ways in which to encourage it further, and challenge and inspire pupils to help them deepen their knowledge and understanding.

    Applicants should have:

    1. At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, or a related field and a teaching qualification.
    2. Experience in teaching the National Curriculum of England and Wales.
    3. Ability to teach Literacy across KS1 and 2 will be an added advantage
