Job Requirements

Job Responsibilities

• You’ll be the lead developer for our existing reader facing site. With over 3.5 million monthly readers your work will have immediate impact.
• You will A/B test impactful features that will improve key engagement metrics and delight our readers.
• Whether it is suggesting the perfect next article to read, having a tailored layout for dumb phones on Opera Mini, or inferring a reader’s interests based on their location, you will be pivotal in discovering what moves the needle.
• You will own our Node.js code base and will be responsible for elegantly structuring and evolving the project.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience in design and UX
• Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A kick ass designer with a wholistic approach that includes UX and responsive designs
• Design in the browser? Mad bonus points.
• Ready to tackle challenges end to end and learn new skills
• Passionate about establishing good design processes and care about the implementation
• You enter conversations with strong opinions, weakly held

Job Roles

• You will define who Hivisasa is in both appearance and voice. On top, you’ll ensure that interacting with our platform leaves readers and writers inspired.
• You’ll develop looks like/ works like mockups, and wireframes.
• You’ll test designs with quickly built mockups and you’ll validate your work through routine A/B testing of alternatives.
• You’ll work with developers to ensure your concepts are perfectly actualized. Your job ends only when our users get to enjoy what once only you imagined.

Roles

• You will develop the next generation Hivisasa CMS.
• Your first task will be to explore and evaluate python CMS platforms and to drive the discussion on which one we choose.
• You will also participate in the design of where in our infrastructure the new CMS system will live and how it will interact with our other services.
• You will then work to extend the chosen framework to match our requirements.
