    Senior Manager – Actuarial Services

    We are looking for a Manager or a Senior manager to support in the delivery of engagements, business development and leading the actuarial team.

    Roles

    • Managing engagements to consistently achieve set revenue and profit objectives
    • Providing technical knowledge, direction and training to the engagement team to produce quality deliverables on time and on budget.
    • Developing plans and portfolios in diverse financial sectors
    • Develop and maintain relationships with decision makers at key clients while impacting on revenue or client relationship through innovation.
    • Providing technical guidance and advisory on actuarial assignments
    • Develop and analyse projection models
    • Evaluating and advising on financial risks within an engagement
    • Supporting Clients with IFRS 17 GAP / Impact assessments and implementations
    • Providing advisory services to Companies undertaking mergers and acquisitions
    • Advising companies on their capital models and capital planning
    • Provision of actuarial expertise to support the Audit function within the firm
    • Leading in business development initiatives that would drive revenue realization.

    Qualifications and experience

    • An Actuarial science degree will be an added advantage.
    • A degree in a Business-related field / mathematics with or undertaking a recognised certification in Actuarial studies.
    • At least 7- 10 years working experience in an actuarial function or consultancy.
    • Possession or demonstration of undertaking Actuarial qualification certifications.

    Skills and attributes

    • Excellent communication and presentation skills both written and oral
    • Outstanding analytical skills with ability to work on big data
    • Extensive knowledge in financial forecasting and statistical Modelling
    • Ability to work in a team sharing knowledge and providing guidance and technical advice
    • Knowledge of East Africa regulatory regime for insurers.
    • Knowledge of reporting methodologies, e.g. IFRS.
    • A broad knowledge of non-life insurance products
    • Experience in business development in the insurance and financial services sectors

    Business Analyst – Associate

    Qualifications and experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or computer based related course

    Responsibilities

    • Regular follow up, update and communication of leads progress of on a weekly basis.

    • Collect and document referrals and reference letters from existing clients

    • Update Client contact information and maintain an up to date maintenance, contracts, courtesy visit schedule and IDEA / Alessa returns and payments
    • Redirect client support requests to appropriate CaseWare team internal and external to resolve and ensure documentation is kept to form a repository
    • Manage and review the CaseWare dashboard and management of debtors, billings and disbursements and ensure all engagements achieve a minimum of the following metrices:
    • 75% recovery
    • 75 days of lockup
    • 72% utilization on average
    • Value per hour of USD 65 after CaseWare returns
    • Ensure proper risk management and filing for all engagements

    Data Engineer- Associate

    The Nairobi office serves as the regional coordinating office providing the required networking to facilitate delivery of services on a timely basis to meet and exceed our clients’ expectations.

    Key responsibilities

    The overall objective of the role is to help bridge the gap between technical platform needs ( i.e. big data engineering) and business needs. The engineer skews towards big data engineering but also brings more modelling capabilities than a pure big data software engineer. In this way, they will play an important “utility” role on teams including helping to enable overall solutioning and full-scope architecture, design, and build. They will be able to complete intermediate-level big data engineering tasks, basic modelling tasks, and business solutioning and executive communication tasks. They will design software architecture following best practices after understanding customer requirements and enterprise environments.

    Qualifications and experience

    • Strong experience with at least one large scale and/or distributed processing methodology such as Hadoop, Storm, Spark
    • Demonstrated ETL solution design and build expertise, and work stream management skills
    • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other related fields

    Responsibilities

    • Assess, capture, and translate complex business issues and solution requirements into a structured big data engineering use case, including rapid learning of industry/domain/client dynamics and development of effective work stream plans
    • Utilize a hypothesis-driven problem-solving  approach to design, construct, and rapidly test/ iterate big data platforms and architectures that will enable running models and visualizations to reveal insight and opportunities for the client
    • Deliver client project data engineering work stream through direct ownership of data ingestion, engineering, transformation, automation, and back-end visualization setup, aswell as client communication deliverables
    • Support build of big data environments that enable analytics solutions on a variety of big data platforms including cloud as required by the client, and create robust documentation of solutions, architecture, automation workflows, and operation procedures

    Data Scientist – Associate

    The data scientist’s role is to bring their expertise in advanced modelling techniques and mathematical methods; algorithm use and optimization; and data science technologies.
