    ICT Skills Teacher – Dadaab

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Plan and implement instructional activities for the students as per the syllabus to ensure active and meaningful learning experience.
    • Preparing and maintain teacher professional records not limited to schemes of work, lesson plans, lesson notes, record of work covered and other records.
    • Maintain current students’ attendance records and make them readily available to the supervisor.
    • Assess and evaluate students continuously as per the training program requirements and maintain students’ progress records.
    • Provide feedback to parents and project officer on pupil’s progress during education forums and report forms.
    • Responsible for the registration of learner’s details.
    • Make certain that course syllabus is completed in time.
    • Report for duty and lessons on time as required by the organization policy.
    • Prepare and maintain updated inventory of training resources assigned.
    • Ensure that safety precautions are observed during training activities.
    • Participate in mobilization, recruitment and retention of the online freelancing learners.
    • Maintaining students discipline.
    • Participate in guiding and counseling students.
    • Carry out hardware and software maintenance of ICT equipment.
    • Troubleshoot basic network /internet connectivity problems.
    • Liaise with the ICT focal person in internet/network management.
    • Provide 1st line of IT Support in the delivery centres.
    • Conduct placement, evaluation and monitoring of students during attachments and apprenticeship
    • Working with the school management and other stakeholders to ensure meaningful participation of learners in all aspects of education.
    • Provide Entrepreneurship and business skills training to learners.
    • Take part in designing, procurement and distribution of basic startup kit and livelihood support Kit for program graduates.
    • Provide market information, Technical support and after training support to the ICT careers.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • KCSE Certificate
    • Hold a recognized Diploma/ Higher Diploma or graduate in ICT or computer studies
    • Holds a recognized certificate in teaching methodology in Technical Education
    • Two year previous experience in teaching youth in a school/college / Vocational training institution setting
    • Excellent skills in written and spoken English
    • Ability to tolerate diverse cultural, educational and religious diversity in the work place
    • Experience in working with underprivileged youth. A good team player with high degree of initiative, flexibility and tolerance

    ICLA Assistant – Dadaab

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Adherence to NRC Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines in relation to provision of information, counseling, legal assistance and referral activities.
    • Provision of direct information services through Group information sessions by ICLA in Dadaab camp and coordination with partners on complementary services.
    • Completing relevant M&E procedures for the documentation of ICLA beneficiaries
    • Supporting the regular updating of IEC materials for dissemination
    • Supporting the provision of internal referrals from other ICLA/NRC core competencies for refugees in need of counselling and legal assistance services.
    • Preparation of client intake and case management forms for counseling and legal assistance services and ensure confidentiality of client data.
    • Regular liaison with legal partners/legal aid providers on case management for ICLA beneficiaries.
    • Preparation of referral forms for referrals to external partners and ICLA Somalia.
    • Support the conducting of awareness raising, capacity building and training activities for communities, government officials and NGOs on ICLA thematic areas.
    • Prepare and compile weekly, monthly and mid and end term reports.
    • Supervise relevant NRC community staff supporting project activities.
    • Participate in ICLA continuous assessments, mapping and investigation and supervise data collection during ICLA surveys and assessments
    • Any other tasks as assigned by line manager.

    Qualifications

    • University degree in law, political science, social science or other relevant discipline. Diploma with experience will be considered.
    • Minimum 3 years humanitarian experience with refugees/internally displaced persons (IDPs) at field level with an NGO or other international organization.
    • Good understanding of the Dadaab context.
    • Experience in reporting, client management, case studies and research.
    • Knowledge on SSPS and other data management systems

    Personal Qualities

    • Experience from working as a Project Assistant in a humanitarian/recovery context
    • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
    • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
    • Strong communication, analytical and negotiation skills.
    • Interpersonal skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
    • Proven skills in report writing
    • Advanced computer skills; Word, Excel, Power point,
    • Knowledge of English and knowledge of Somali is an asset
