    M-Pesa Africa – Market Delivery Release Train Engineer (Business Payments & IMT)

    Role Purpose

    Release train Engineer in financial Services to establish, develop and lead the delivery capability for multiple M-Pesa Services and Technology projects. Development of the Business Payments Agile Release Train (ART) and of essential trusted delivery partnerships and guidance for M-Pesa Africa (MPA) markets.  Guiding market resources through their engagement for delivery of new services and partner integrations. Guidance of in-market resources to ensure synergies remain strong between MPA, markets, and partners.  Development of Release Train performance and through continuous coaching and continuous improvement of MPA’s project delivery metrics, particularly Time to Market.

    The role will drive efficiency through the 9 squads in the Business Payment (BP) area and additionally lead the newly formed International Money Transfer (IMT) squad to provide financial service products and enablers for merchants and consumers.  The scope will support a full range of M-Pesa services including in-market pilots, innovations, and mature product enhancements.

    Key Role Responsibilities

    As an experienced professional in Agile Project Delivery you’ll Provide:

    • Agile Release Train and program leadership, performance in driving product features to implementation through SAFe (ambitious and competitive).
    • Consistently productive operation in a multinational environment with local Executive Management, showing excellent communication and coaching skills, tact, and diplomacy (one company & local roots).

    • At least one Project Management Certification - PRINCE 2 Practitioner, APMP or equivalent
    • Agile Project Management Experience Qualification in Scrum Master/Kanban KPM1/SAFe RTE or equivalent
    • At least 4 years of experience in communication and relationship management to Executive level.
