    Software Development Engineer in Test

    DESCRIPTION

    We are pleased to announce the following Opportunity in the Digital Department within the Technology Division.   In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below.

    Brief Description

    Reporting to the QE SDET lead, the position holder will execute Software testing and ensure solutions delivered to the customers meet the desired user specifications; ensuring all bugs are identified and resolved before product launch leading to zero revenue losses and customer impact.

    He / she is responsible for executing the test strategy; plan, monitor and control the testing activities, with an emphasis on validating solution / product readiness for production.

    Role purpose:

    • Accountable for end to end testing, end to end reporting & analysis on test progress and defect management.
    • Creatively try to break applications, via hands-on and scripted testing, before release to market
    • Champion and lead agile squads in adopting test driven development approaches
    • Contribute to devops practices including but not limited to plugging in test automation suites in existing/new DevOps CI/CD pipelines, providing test tooling and expertise on static code analysis.
    • Drive transformations in testing through test automation to achieve higher levels of efficiency and reduce software testing time by more 50%
    • Accountable for validation of quality of releases and fully accountable for product readiness to production
    • Implement software testing automation framework
    • Test automation for Mobile/APIs/Web apps/Desktop apps
    • Responsible for end to end management of test teams and ensuring the testers execute planned tests within the testing schedule.
    • Create detailed test plans for features/releases with clear entry/exit criteria, testing strategy and testing scope
    • Conduct Performance tests on products to ensure they meet the minimum performance exit criteria as defined in the test plan.
    • Ensure at least 80% test automation of regression testing suites

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree preferably in IT related Field
    • 3 years + experience in software development or Testing Automation in a busy IT environment
    • Strong understanding of the software Testing Life cycle (STLC)
    • Excellent software development skills coupled with programming experience in Java, Python, JavaScript etc
    • Experience of Test-driven Development approaches such as ATDD and BDD
    • Experience in use of test management tools (Micro-Focus ALM/Octane is desirable)
    • Experience in Unix/Linux Operating System
    • Experience in test design techniques (black box and white box)
    • Strong risk identification and mitigation planning skills
    • Solid understanding of enterprise APIs, Mobile and Web application architectures
    • Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies
    • Strong knowledge of continuous integration and delivery systems (CI/CD) such as Jenkins/gitlabci/drone/CycleCI
    • Experience with at least one test automation tool such as Selenium, Appium, Robot Framework, Pytest, TestNG
    • Experience in containerization & container orchestration technologies technologies
    • Performance testing using JMETER/HP LoadRunner/locust.io is a huge plus
    • ISTQB Certification is a plus

    Senior Campaign and Performance Marketing Manager - Payment Tribe

    DESCRIPTION

    M-PESA, the Africa’s largest fintech is evolving from a basic mobile payment and remittance service to a lifestyle platform supporting Safaricom’s vision of being a digital services provider (DSP). The journey from a mobile remittances and payment service will involve connecting to thousands of daily life services providers guided by customers’ behavior evolution.

    Reporting to Tribe Lead, Payments Tribe, the position holder will be responsible for strategy and execution of the go-to-market strategy for M-PESA Superapp.

    Key responsibilities.

    • Lead the execution of the go-to-market strategy for M-PESA Superapp. Design the marketing strategy to drive customer activity and revenue while incorporating data analysis to determine the best growth path as well as Soliciting direct customer feedback to validate the strategy for M-PESA Superapp.
    • Drive campaigns from planning to execution and beyond to meet key performance metrics while constantly optimizing marketing activities to improve return on investment.
    • Evaluating growth opportunities with MiniApps partners and jointly develop campaigns to drive usage of all the services delivered through 3rd Party Miniprograms. This will include brand guidelines, scheduling, budget and revenue sharing arrangements.
    • Partner with the Product development agile squad to refine the product roadmap, offer market and customers insights to influence the direction of the product.
    • Allocate budgets and analyze and recommend modifications to ad spends, optimize marketing budgets to maximize Cost per Acquisition (CPA) and efficiently scale new customers
    • Drive revenue achieve targeted ROI and maintain positive KPI trends; Determine monthly, quarterly and annual revenue forecasts and budgets.
    • Track and evaluate KPIs of all marketing channels and determine necessary adjustments to optimize overall marketing effectiveness in line with budgeted marketing spend.
    •  Work with the Brand Marketing team to create aligned consumer communications across all channels and to ensure both strong commercial and consistent brand messages. Test
    •  Deliver clear, concise and reliable reporting on all activities to key stakeholders.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience in developing new products, such as product launch or product incubation expertise.
    • Strong cross-group collaboration and communication skills within a highly matrixed organization.
    • Commercial marketing or sales experience; familiarity with go-to-market channels/levers.
    • Ability to work independently in an ambiguous environment.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising or related field (or equivalent commercial experience) with 5 years in ecommerce experience, either on agency or client side.
    • 3+ years of experience in performance-based marketing.
    • Experience of mobile and social marketing including apps is preferred.
    • Experience in Marketing E-commerce or digital Lifestyle products will be an added advantage.
    • Ability to effectively manage a 3rd party external agencies.
    • Demonstrate great commercial & industry acumen.
    • Excellent working knowledge of web analytics tools and the ability to consolidate and analyze data from multiple sources.  
    • Strong communication skills written & oral and ability to quickly build strong relationships.
    • Ability to work across cultures and geographies to support local digital needs.
    • Ability and desire to work at both the strategic and tactical levels.
    • Self-starter mentality and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
