    Staff Security Officer – Kenyan National Hire

    rade: 6(N)
    Level: Senior Specialist
    Division: Administration

    Primary Purpose

    This position is primarily responsible for supporting, implementing and ensuring the systematic application
    of safety and security policies for all CWS Africa operational activities and programs in Kenya. The Staff Security Officer will compile and draft Weekly Regional Security Updates, conduct expat residential surveys, analyze and complete security assessments of ongoing activities in Kenya as well as ensure proper documentation and filling of security electronic and physical files. This position will act as the primary focal point in daily security operations in the country. This position will report to the Staff Security Coordinator and Assistant Staff Security Coordinator who are both based in Nairobi, Kenya.

    Supervision

    This position reports directly to the Staff Security Coordinator.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    Bachelor’s Degree in a security, humanitarian, development or discipline related field, or four (4) years of paid work experience in the same field in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree is required

    Experience:

    1. Experience in conducting Contextual security risk assessments required.
    2. Experience in compiling and drafting security reports including incident reporting is required.
    3. Experience in coordinating response to security emergencies required.
    4. Two (2) years working experience with similar INGO or humanitarian agency is preferred.

    Knowledge/Skills:

    1. Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA and other international NGO security frameworks.
    2. Sensitivity to gender and cultural issues.
    3. Excellent communications skills, with fluency in written and spoken English.
    4. Working knowledge of French or Arabic is also desirable.
    5. Writing skills test may be requested.
    6. Excellent organizational and time management skills

    Special Requirements:

    Police Clearance Certificate issued within the last one year (12 months) is required before the start of employment.
    A valid passport and the ability to maintain a valid passport throughout the entire appointment is required, which includes having enough passport pages for travel.     IT Projects Analyst – Kenya National Hire

    Level: Manager 1

    Primary Purpose

    This position is responsible for managing and developing the implementation of all new and recurring IT projects within RSC Africa, across the all countries of operation in sub-Saharan Africa. The position oversees various activities within theIT department, pertaining to the implementation and delivery on IT projects.

    Supervision

    This position reports to the IT Manager, and is responsible for oversight of projects within the IT department

    Essential Duties

    1. Manages the successful execution of RSC Africa IT projects across all the countries of operation.
    2. Conducts research for proposed projects and provides reports of ongoing projects to meet the projects’ objectives and assigns to the direct reports as appropriate.
      1. Works with Senior Managers across the organization to identify and implement new projects that support RSC Africa’s digital needs.
      2. Analyses and recommends new projects based on the tasks assigned and trends observed.
    3. Serves as the project lead and develops project strategy plans based on logical framework approaches, in liaison with the RSC IT Manager
    4. Maintains a thorough working knowledge of the USRAP and refugee situations throughout sub-Saharan Africa.
    5. Drives impactful and effective project delivery through proactive and clear communication, strong team coordination and excellent planning skills.
    6. Provide ongoing data verification and analysis to suit the direction of the project and leads regular meetings with project teams to discuss progress, and to identify and manage risks.
    7. Oversees the daily workflow related to projects and their development.
    8. Manages relationships with external service providers, ensuring their work meets the agreed specifications while tracking and reporting issues.
    9. Actively participates in project evaluation and monitoring and provides reports to demonstrate success and areas for improvement at the end of each project execution.
    10. In collaboration with the IT Manager, ensures an adequate scoping, budgeting and forecasting exercise is completed and presented before beginning any proposed project.
    11. Ensures smooth cross department collaboration using project management tools that are effective and enhance efficiency.
    12. Oversees the development, implementation, dissemination and monitoring of relevant standard operating procedures (SOPs) are created for smooth transition and increased staff adoption and usage on changes made in processes.
      1. Leads the change management activities within a structured process framework.
      2. Executes and supports the organization in streamlining processes after a change in process.
    13. Recommends and assist with establishment of relevant working groups to complete projects..
    14. Maintains knowledge of the relevant legislation applicable to each project.
    15. Establish and communicate clear expectations to staff to foster a predictable and consistent work environment
    16. Any other duty assigned by the IT Management to plan, organise and execute any projects and tasks related to ICT in an effective manner

    Qualification

    Education:

    1. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Project Management, Business Management or Administration;
    2. Master’s degree is preferred
    3. Professional training in Prince2 is an added advantage

    Experience:

    • 2 years experience as a paid IT projects analyst, or project co-ordinator.
    • Five (5) years of relevant paid work experience in IT is required; preferably in an international organization.

    Knowledge/Skills:

    1. Proficiency in Project Management software
    2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office essential
    3. Working knowledge of applicable laws and standards in the industry
    4. Demonstrated institutional knowledge of RSC Africa and USRAP processing
    5. Excellent results-driven project management skills
    6. Resilient self-starter who takes ownership of projects while working collaboratively in a team environment.
    7. Experience working across diverse geographies and cultures (advantageous)

    Special Projects Manager, Programs – Kenyan National Hire

    Primary Purpose

    This position is responsible for organizing, leading, and executing the implementation of RSC Africa’s various special projects within the Programs division. The position would improve coordination of Programs projects minimizing duplication of efforts which will increase productivity and better time delivery for routine tasks and projects.

    Supervision

    This position reports directly to the RSC Africa Deputy Director (DD).

    Essential Duties

    1. Manages the successful execution of RSC Africa’s special projects within the Programs division.
    2. Assists in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
    3. Researches unique projects and provides reports of ongoing projects to meet the projects’ objectives
    4. Analyses and recommends new projects based on the tasks assigned and trends observed
    5. Serves as the repository of best practices in project management and ensures the same is shared across the organization for process improvement
    6. Serves as the project lead and develops recommended action plans, tasks, schedules, and timeframes for embarking on new projects in liaison with the DD
    7. Maintains a thorough working knowledge of the USRAP and refugee situations throughout sub-Saharan Africa.
    8. Drives impactful and effective project delivery through proactive and clear communication, strong team coordination, and excellent planning skills
    9. Leads regular meetings with project teams to discuss progress, and to identify and manage risks
