    Internal Audit Manager

     Job Description

    JOB REF. NO: TVO/09/2020/001
    TERMS OF SERVICE: Three (3) years contract

    JOB PURPOSE

    Responsible for providing independent and objective assurance on effectiveness of internal controls in the company. Primary responsibilities include performing financial, operational and process audits of the company’s business.

    Reporting to the Board of Directors functionally and administratively to the Managing Director.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Operational Audit
      • Coordinate timely preparation of risk based internal audit work plans and budget estimates as well as outlining key activities to be undertaken to achieve desired targets
      • Monitor the administration and use of internal audit policies and procedures and make recommendations for change to ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements and best practices
      • Perform business process risk assessment and determine areas of high risk and audit focus to be incorporated in the audit plans for approval by the Audit committee
      • Execute audit plans and document audit observations findings and recommendations
      • Examine, evaluate and report on the adequacy of internal controls and advice Management and the Board on the same
      • Conduct special audits and investigations and report on observations, finding and recommendations
      • Regularly report and update the Audit Committee on planned reviews, investigations and any other related ad-hoc activities
      • Communicate and follow reports and recommendations to ensure implementation of actions points as approved by the committee
      • Prepare comprehensive written reports
      • Perform control reviews for ICT systems security, development, maintenance, disaster recovery and other cyber security related matters
      • Evaluate ICT control environment with regards to emerging technologies and recommend adequate control measures to mitigate any risk exposures
    • Administrative Roles
      • Offer leadership to staff in the department
      • Staff training and performance management
      • Develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
      • Ensure adherence to internal audit procedure manual and plans
      • Attend and participate as Secretary to the Audit Committee meetings
      • Work closely with external auditors and provide relevant support as may be required
      • Perform any other role as may be assigned from time to time

    Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience required for this Role

    • Be a Kenyan Citizen
    • Be a holder of Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
    • Be a holder of CPA (K) or its equivalent
    • Be registered with Institute of Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (ICPAK), Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), or Information Systems Audit & Control Association (ISACA)
    • Relevant work experience of not less than five (5) years in similar position
    • Be proficient in computer applications
    • Master’s degree with a bias in Accounting or Finance will be added advantage
    • Certificate in Senior Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution will be an added advantage

    Three (3) years Contract

    JOB PURPOSE

    Responsible for facilitating effective communication among senior managers, the board of directors and shareholders, advising the managing director on matters of corporate governance, keeping records and minutes of the organization.

    Reporting to the Managing Director

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Participate in developing, implementing and reviewing legal policies and procedures to ensure compliance
    • Advising the company on legal matters
    • Drawing and vetting of contracts, agreements and other legal documents
    • Ensuring proper preparation of legal reports and opinions
    • Coordinating and liaising with external lawyers on all legal matters to ensure that the Agency’s interests are taken care of
    • Undertaking legal research
    • Monitoring compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements
    • Coordinating external legal mandates to investigate and resolve potential legal issues with regard to financial instruments issued by donors

    Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience required for this Role

    • Be in possession of a Bachelor of Laws Degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
    • Have Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Council for Legal Education
    • Have been admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya
    • Have a current Advocates Practicing Certificate
    • Relevant work experience of not less than three (3) years in similar position
    • Certificate in Senior Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution will be an added advantage
    • Be proficient in computer applications

    Security Officer

    TERMS OF SERVICE: Three (3) years contract

    JOB PURPOSE

    To ensure the safety and protection of company's employees, visitors and property by responding to safety and security threats and establishing a security presence.

    Reporting to the Human Resource and Administration Manager.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Planning and executing security arrangements
    • Maintaining law and order at TAVEVO Water and Sewerage Company Limited and its facilities
    • Surveying security within TAVEVO Water and Sewerage Company Limited buildings and installations
    • Liaising with police and other security agencies on security matters
    • Investigating criminal cases affecting TAVEVO Water and Sewerage Company Limited
    • Conducting security inspection, investigations and safety measures
    • Supervising TAVEVO Water and Sewerage Company Limited contracted security personnel and liaise with contracted security firm on day to day security matters of the company
    • Participating in preparation and implementation of annual security audit plans
    • Compiling and preparing quarterly and annual security reports
    • Carrying out security and safety procedures
    • Preparing security intelligence reports

    Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience required for this Role

    • Be in possession of a Diploma in Criminology or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
    • Be in possession of Certificate of Good Conduct from the National Police Service
    • Have undergone a six (6) weeks Security Investigation Course at the CID Training School or an equivalent security training from a recognized institution
    • Relevant work experience of not less than three (3) years in similar position
    • Be proficient in Computer Applications

    Transport Officer

    JOB REF. NO: TVO/09/2020/004
    TERMS OF SERVICE: Three (3) years contract

    JOB PURPOSE

    Ensure the company is compliant with all government regulations, safety standards, plan and manage company fleet.

    Reporting to the Finance Manager.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Oversee booking and scheduling of vehicles
    • Allocate vehicles to drivers
    • Prepare maintenance / repair schedules for motor vehicles / motorcycles in a timely manner
    • Ensure that motor vehicles / motorcycles at all times are in road worthy condition
    • Analyze work tickets and ensure compliance
    • Identify, collect, receive and compile motor vehicles / motorcycles statistics including but not limited to mileage, fuel, efficiency, repairs, work tickets, spare parts used and cost incurred all for each motor vehicle / motorcycle on a continuous basis for management.
    • Manage and maintain motor vehicles / motorcycles file registries
    • Ensure that all motor vehicles / motorcycles at all times have valid insurance cover and licenses.
    • Prepare and submit to your supervisor routine reports indicating but not limited to issues / challenges, observations / investigations or inspection, findings, analysis / conclusions and recommendations.

    Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience required for this Role

    • Diploma in fleet Management.
    • Diploma/ Certificate in Motor Vehicle Mechanic would be an added advantage
    • Relevant work experience of not less than three (3) years in similar position
    • Be proficient in computer applications
