    Nurse Midwife

    Main Duties

    • Assessment and admission of patients in maternity to identify their clinical needs and provide holistic nursing care.
    • Planning patient care guided by the nursing process as per the patient needs.
    • Providing maternal and child health services such as delivery and postnatal care for both normal and caesarian section deliveries
    • Identification and management of obstetric emergencies.
    • Monitoring mothers in labor and maintaining a partograph.
    • Immunization according to KEPI.
    • Mentorship and supervision of nursing students on clinical rotation at maternity department.
    • Sharing health messages to antenatal and postnatal mothers
    • Drug administration utilizing the 5 rights of drug administration
    • Triaging of patients
    • Prompt Neonatal Resuscitation measures and palliative care where necessary
    • Maintaining safety precaution as per protocol
    • Preforming vacuum deliveries
    • Managing maternal emergencies and prompt resuscitation.
    • Infection prevention.
    • Proper and timely documentation
    • Assist in performing manual vacuum aspiration.

    Required Qualifications for the Position

    • KRCHN /KRN/BSN
    • Must have higher Diploma in KRM
    • Minimum of 3 years working experience in Midwifery
    • Must be registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya with a current license

    Critical Nurse

    Main Duties

    • Assessing patient’s condition and planning for their care.
    • Ensuring patient’s nursing needs such as physical, psychological and mental are attended to.
    • Treating wounds and providing advanced life support care.
    • Assisting physicians in carrying out medical procedures
    • Monitoring record and report changes in patient’s symptoms; maintain accurate reports on patients.
    • Ensuring ventilators, monitors and other equipment in the unit are working properly
    • Receiving and discharging patients to and from the unit
    • Administering intravenous fluids and medications
    • Requesting for diagnostic tests
    • Responding to emergencies and life-threatening situations.
    • Maintaining safe and clean working environment by adhering to set standards and procedures
    • Providing support and education to the patient’s families on various topics pertaining to health of the patient.

    Required Qualifications for the Position

    • KRN/KRCHN/BSN
    • Must have higher Diploma in critical care
    • Minimum of 3 years working experience with at least 1 year post qualification in Critical Care
    • Latest certification in BLS, ACLS and ATCN is an added advantage
    • Must be registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya with a current licence

    Nephrology Nurse

    Main Duties

     

    • Managing patients requiring critical care
    • Nursing and assessment of Patients
    • Initiation of dialysis, patient and machine monitoring during dialysis and termination of dialysis procedure
    • Nursing care prior to and following renal transplant.
    • Care of renal patients in the secondary stage involving rehabilitation and in the tertiary stage
    • Monitors patients and adjusts specialized equipment used on patients and interprets and records information.
    • Identifying irregular dialysis reactions and notifies appropriate medical team members
    • Securing blood works
    • Teaches patients and significant others how to manage their illness by explaining post treatment home care needs, diet/nutrition, exercise programs, self-administration of medication, if needed
    • Maintains medical inventory
    • Provided pre and post procedure care to patients within the hemodialysis unit
    • Performs other position related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting.

    Required Qualifications for the Position

    • KRN/KRCHN/BSN
    • Must have higher Diploma in Nephrology
    • Minimum of 3 years working experience with at least 1 year post qualification in renal Care
    • Latest certification in BLS, ACLS and ACTN is an added advantage
    • Must be registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya with a current license.
