    Fundraising Coordinator- Corporates, Trusts, and Foundations

    Main purpose

    The job holder will be responsible for devising and implementing a successful programme of fundraising from the corporate, trusts and foundations sector to an agreed annual target. This will include securing charity support, sponsorship of conferences and events and products and general donations. The job holder will work with the Fundraising and IPD Lead to develop a framework around new business, and ultimately, grow corporates, trusts and foundations income by building on existing relationships and creating new opportunities. The role holder will proactively cultivate and approach new high-level trust prospects. We are seeking a great relationship-builder, keen to be out meeting with existing and prospective corporates, trusts and foundations through collaborative approaches. The post holder will also have the opportunity to get involved across a range of activities, including event design and delivery, donor trips and cross-organizational projects.

    Minimum Requirements

    1. A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Development Studies, Social Sciences or its equivalent from a recognized University, A  Master’s Degree is desirable;
    2. Member of a relevant professional body;
    3. Five (5) years minimum working experience is essential;
    4. At least 3 years’ experience in corporate fundraising is essential;
    5. Experience in corporate, trust and foundations fundraising is essential;
    6. Experience in donor relationship management is essential.

    Learning and Impact Coordinator - Global Platform Kenya

    Salary

    Kshs.172,258 per month

    Main purpose

    The position will support, strengthen and develop the methodological capacity of the GP Kenya trainer team, oversee training quality assurance processes with all trainings, as well as ensuring the smooth running of courses and offer support to Youth Hub activities. Working closely with the MEAL Coordinator be an integral M&E position that will dwell on quality of training and track learning within the organization and program work at community level and be in charge of unit reporting.  Ensure quality trainers, quality content, quality delivery and impactful learning.  Should pinpoint capacity gaps and together with manager target the right associates including AAIK staff, trainer exchange, TCDC and consultants. 

    Minimum Requirements

    1. University degree in social sciences, international relations, development studies, or a related field;
    2. 3-5 years of experience in the fields of non-formal education, youth programmes & campaigns or with youth at risk; Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills in English are essential;
    3. Strong demonstrated passion for women rights and feminism;
    4. Demonstrable experience in peer to peer learning and M&E;
    5. Strong analytical skills and good political judgment is desirable, participatory training methods and action research;
    6. Strong leadership and mentorship abilities;
    7. Previous INGO/Training on programming/advocacy/campaign management experience or Institutions experience would be a considerable advantage;
    8. Experience in and understanding of youth, governance, people centered development, civil society are areas of advantage.

    Programme Manager – Resilient Livelihoods and Emergencies

    Job Description/Requirements

    Salary

    Kshs. 239,247 per month

    Main purpose

    The holder of this position shall be responsible for strategic direction, growth and coordination of AAIK’s work on resilient building programmes and humanitarian response. S/he is responsible for leading and overseeing the development and delivery of high quality, innovative, cost effective programs in both emergency and long-term development settings resulting in immediate and lasting change for communities living in poverty and exclusion. S/he will be responsible for monitoring programme quality, initiating and taking technical leadership in resilient livelihoods and emergencies focused studies, documentation and dissemination of innovations and good practices. S/he will ensure that the resilient livelihoods and emergencies programming is of excellent technical quality, attracts significant donor funding and contributes to AAIK’s strategic objectives, national/global learning and advocacy.

    Minimum Requirements

    1. Have a Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, policy development or it’s equivalent from a recognized University;
    2. Have at least a minimum of seven (7) years post-academic experience in Disaster Response, Risk reduction and Resilience building programme management;
    3. Have successfully demonstrated cross-functional leadership competencies (diligence, developing strategies, conflict-resolution, analysis, communication and organizational awareness) as well as project planning skills).
    4. Proven experience in working within influential coalitions and networks; advocacy and campaigns on Disaster Response, Risk reduction and Resilience building;
    5. Demonstrated ability to work closely and effectively with administrative and community structures in a conflict and emergency context;
    6. Have demonstrated experience in building capacity of partners and staff on Disaster Response, Risk reduction and resilience building;
    7. Experience of implementing resilience and social cohesion programs in conflict settings.
    8. Experience of managing partnership relationships and understanding of different donor requirements and ways of working.

    Procurement and Administration Officer

    Main purpose

    The holder of the position shall be responsible for supporting in the development and  implementation of Procurement and Administrative policies and strategies, to co-ordinate procurement/administration practices and to maximize savings and benefits available to AAIK and to ensure all AAIK assets and facilities are well secured and operating and managed efficiently.

    Minimum Requirements

    1. Have a Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing and Supplies Management, Business administration or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
    2. Have three (3) years minimum working experience in equivalent capacity and in a large NGO.
    3. Knowledge of Assets and facilities management.
    4. Proficient knowledge on Logistics skills and import & export is an added advantage.
    5. Strong sense of initiation, responsibility, ownership and excellent attention to detail to get things done well and fast.

    Finance Accountant – Payroll and Taxes

    Salary

    Kshs.137,806 per month

    Main purpose

    The holder of this position shall be responsible for ensuring effective and efficient payroll processing and management, all necessary tax returns are filed and the reconciliation of intercompany balances done, internal controls are upheld, general financial accounting for effectiveness and efficiency in payments. The role holder is expected to provide accurate financial information to the budget holders, management and the auditors and ensure organizational efficiency and effectiveness in utilisation of resources.

    Minimum Requirements

    1. Have a Bachelor’s degree in Finance/ Accounting from a recognized University or in a related field Professional Accounting qualifications (CPA II or ACCA II);
    2. Have at least five (5) years working experience in finance/accounting function; with proven experience in design, implementing and monitoring financial and administrative control systems;
    3. Proven experience in generating audit trails, budgets and financial reports for use by management and donors;
    4. Have demonstrated high understanding of finance and accounting matters;
    5. Possess a high level of IT proficiency in use of SUN system, Vision, Payroll software, MS Word, Excel, Access, Power-point, and e-mail.

    Fundraising Coordinator - Child Sponsorship and Local Voluntary Fundraising

    Salary

    Kshs.172,258 per month

    Main purpose

    The holder of the position shall be responsible for the implementation of local voluntary/supporter marketing fundraising strategies (including events, appeals, challenge runs through DRTV and face to face marketing to recruit supporters) and design market let supporter marketing products (such as child sponsorship, community sponsorship and cash appeals) aimed at generation of adequate resources (at least £960,000 annually) for AAIK programmes. The jobholder will also be responsible for planning and implementing all sponsorship activities in the programme including administrative processes relating to child sponsorship as per the child sponsorship policies, guidelines and standards which are updated from time to time.

    Minimum Requirements

    1. A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or its equivalent from a recognized University. A Master’s Degree is desirable;
    2. Satisfactorily served as fundraising/ resource mobilization officer or a comparable position with similar responsibilities in like organizations for a minimum period of five (5) years;
    3. Be a member of the Association of Fundraisers in Kenya;
    4. Proven practical experience of raising funds from local sponsors and supporters;
    5. Have in-depth understanding of programming issues, resource mobilization including supporter marketing product development, marketing channels, supporter acquisition and retention;
    6. Understanding of different donor requirements and management of donor relationships.

    Main purpose

    The holder of the position shall be responsible for supporting in the development and implementation of integration of ICT4D technologies in the programmes unit.  S/he will work in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure ease of access to devices and maintaining compliance.     Minimum Requirements

    3. Knowledge of Microsoft Certification in server and e-mail administration is desirable;

    Coordinator – Legal, Board Liaison and Executive Office Support

    Salary

    Ksh. 172,258 per month

    Main purpose

    The job holder shall coordinate and support the office of the Executive Director and Senior Management Team to work closely with the Chair of the Board, Board, and the Board committees, to maintain AAIK’s external reputation as being a well governed organisation. S/he will coordinate legal matters as well as support the Executive Director’s office to deliver on its mandate.

    Minimum Requirements

    1. Have a Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) and a Post graduate diploma in Law.
    2. Be an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
    3. Have at least three (3) years post admission experience in a comparable organization.
    4. Strong ability to work independently, including the ability to multitask, prioritize competing tasks, and manage time effectively.
    5. Strong belief in human rights and equality and commitment to demonstrate integrity in all aspects.
    6. Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
