    Digital Transformation Lead (Athi River)

    Main Purpose of the Position:

    To assist the Head of Supply Chain in implementing new and maintaining existing systems used by the Supply Chain function in order to achieve the objectives of the department. This position will ensure the ongoing successful and efficient utilisation of the company ERP software (SAP S/4 Hana) as well as any other digital tool.

    Responsibility for Internal and External relations

    Internal:

    •  Coordinating with users in other departments (sales, marketing, distribution, operations, maintenance) for effective data management and implementation of new software systems
    • Coordinating with IT/SAP team on improvement of the utilisation of existing systems as well as for the effective implementation of new systems
    •   Coordinating with IT/SAP team on validation of the system for successful implementation

    External:

    • Interaction with Solution providers, together with IT/SAP team, to ensure that desired results are achieved within time and budget constraints

    NPI Coordination:

    • Manage the process of collection of information (internally within MRM as well as externally with solution providers) for the smooth introduction of new SKU’s in the ERP system, within time and budget constraints
    • Manage the process of effectively and efficiently removing non-active SKU’s from the ERP system, while managing phasing out timings and actions so as to reduce obsolete inventory

    SAP Supply Chain Master Data Management:

    • Interaction with SAP Master Data Management (MDM) Team as well as users (supply chain, sales, production and maintenance) to ensure that the functional master data in the ERP system such as SKU descriptions, vendor item information, MRP parameters, Bill of Material, etc is complete and accurate at all times. This applies to new and existing materials as well as those that must be phased out.
    • Ensure discipline in Material Master data management and Vendor Data Management in SAP S4 Hana with the help of SAP MDM team.
    • SPOC (Single point of Contact) from Supply Chain Function who deals with internal IT Team and other external solution provider for successful implementation of SAP ERP System, any other Digital tool for Supply Chain, Demand Forecasting, WMS, TMS, Inventory Management etc. and resolution of any query.
    • Co-ordinate with SAP IT team or consultant for developing any new system generated report to enhance the performance of Supply chain function.

    Introduction of New Digital tool / System and Digital transformation:

     

    • Assist in determining specifications for new software systems and vendor selection.
    • Follow up with external solutions providers as well as internal users for the effective execution of software implementation projects and for the maintenance phase after go-live.
    • Digital transformation - Actively support the Head of Supply Chain in proposing new ideas to reduce manual work and improve process efficiency and accuracy.

    General

    • Adhere to Company standards and policies in addition to all regulatory requirements
    • Support and implement Company initiatives to achieve performance, quality and safety metrics
    • Contribute to periodic departmental and company planning and budgeting cycles including the annual Business Plan Process (BPP)
    • Actively support the BU management team in implementing BU- and company-wide policies/procedures and action plans
    • Ensure the safeguarding and security of Company assets
    • Maintain 100% accuracy in documentation, data management and compliance of SOPs

    Requirements

    Qualifications required:

    • Minimum academic qualification:Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain/Business/ICT
    • Qualifications as an added advantage:Certified Course in Supply Chain/ICT/SAP Module

    Experience required:

    • General work experience (years):5+ years in ERP based Supply Chain with experience in ERP Implementation – preferably SAP ERP system (MM & SD Module) – Being SAP Super User and experience in Masterdata Management would be added advantage
    • Specific to the position (level/discipline/years):2 years in a similar role

    Quality Assurance Technician (Mariakani)

    Description

    Key Performance Areas

    • Inspect and test raw material in processes and finished products against specifications and give usage decision.
    • Carry out internal standardization of equipment for quality checks.
    • Identify and liaise with production for the classification and segregation of non-conforming material at the production lines.
    • Observe finished goods handling and identify practices likely to cause damage to the material.
    • Inspect transport vessels (trucks and containers) to ascertain their condition prior to loading/stuffing with finished goods.
    • Handover of finished and semi-finished products to respective storage location.
    • Correct labelling of products as per their material classification.
    • Perform housekeeping in line with 5K standards and EHS policy.
    • Give timely feedback to production on quality inspection results.

    Requirements

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience Requirements

    • Minimum Diploma – Diploma in Chemical, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized learning institution
    • Minimum of 2 years’ Quality Assurance work experience.

    Additional/specific work requirements:

    • Good understanding of SAP QM Module
    • Good knowledge of Manufacturing Quality practices

    Mechanical Engineer - MCL (Mariakani)

    Description

    All activities in Mechanical Maintenance (which includes namely, 6 Hi Mill, 4 Hi Mill, ARP, Pickling, MCL, CCL and RFs, roll shop, RGM’s, gas plants, Shot Blasting Machine and other Auxiliary and finishing equipment’s in the complex and all utilities):

    • Develop and implement the overall mechanical works strategy for the mechanical maintenance.
    • Identify gaps in the mechanical processes and implement strategies to close gaps and to improve equipment reliability, sustainability, and reduce maintenance costs.
    • Excellent trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills to minimize equipment downtime. Ensure mechanical installations for the plant conform to approved standards to ensure sustainability and eliminate breakdowns.
    • Provide technical support by responding to requests for mechanical problems for all mechanical work.
    • Ensure equipment installations are reliable, safe and in good condition at all times.
    • Evaluate spare needs, identify critical spares, and place appropriate orders and monitor usage.
    • Ensure proper planning of major works and resources for the same.
    • Responsible for manpower engagement and training for the mechanical maintenance team.
    • Timely documentation of reports for mechanical issues and technical reports.
    • Work with contractors and suppliers on our maintenance activities by ensuring high quality of work and compliance with all company policies and regulatory guidelines.
    • Ensure compliance with the requirements of health and safety legislation, standards, procedures, and practices.
    • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits on mechanical installations and identify high risk areas and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
    • Identify, evaluate, plan, implement, and manage projects to improve equipment and safety performance, reduce costs, and ensure sustainability.
    • Ensure that all mechanical equipment is installed and functional to support Production in achieving their production targets.
    • Following the principles of continuous improvement by investigating and interrogating processes and systems and proposing recommendations to improve equipment efficiency.
    • Provide technical support to Production team when required on mechanical works also Coordinate outside contracting with in house projects as necessary
    • Participating in meetings when required with the plant personnel to share information, make decisions, and agree on action plans.
    • Analyze all machine failures (breakdowns, unplanned corrective maintenance) and implement corrective measures to prevent re-occurrence of failures and safety incidents. Timely Root Cause Analysis and repair of major faults and breakdowns. Implementing Corrective & Preventive action plan.
    • Develop, implement, and maintain equipment planned maintenance plans and schedules for all mechanical equipment as required and in accordance with the equipment manufacturer’s specifications, good engineering practice, and mechanical standards. Creating maintenance procedures & Methods.
    • Strict monitoring of KPI’s as given by management and action should be taken to achieve them.
    • Special focus to identify and arrest all kind of leakages (like Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Steam, water, acid, effluents) in equipment.
    • Devise and carry out condition monitoring & Oil monitoring program.
    • Controlling maintenance tools, stores, and equipment
    • Plan, manage and control work done by subordinates ensuring all work is well documented.
    • Ensure that subordinates have the resources required to do their jobs effectively.
    • Train new employees in maintenance work processes and procedures

    Requirements

    • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering- Plant Option
    • Good knowledge of AUTOCAD software for designing.
    • Minimum 8 years experience in similar position in a busy manufacturing company
    • Knowledge in RCA methodology
    • Posses good knowledge in identifying and managing spare parts
    • Good working knowledge of machines in process industry, hydraulics and pneumatics is desirable.
    • Computer proficiency especially in PM module in SAP - ERP.
    • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings as well as use of AUTOCAD.
    • Ability to work independently and exhibit right leadership.
