    Newspapers in Education Coordinator

    Role overview:

    Newspapers in Education (NiE) is an initiative of the Nation Media Group PLC whose objective is to promote literacy through use of newspapers as learning materials and to develop lifelong reading habits among young people and their communities besides improving NMG products' brand awareness. We are seeking to recruit a Newspapers in Education Coordinator in the Circulation department.

    Reporting to the Head of Circulation & Distribution, the job holder will be responsible for the overall management of the Newspapers in Education (NiE) progamme in schools, support the team to recruit new schools and track performance for participating schools in order to continuously deliver value.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop annual NiE growth plans and budgets; Develop NIE circulation plans and oversee timely and efficient newspaper deliveries to participating schools;
    • Improve brand awareness by making NIE products top-of-mind;
    • Key contact with Partners including proposal writing, pitching and managing overall client relationship; Manage timely production of NiE publications in liaison with various stakeholders on a regular basis; Monitoring and evaluation of schools including managing recruitment, training, distribution and overall relationship with schools; Liaise with the Ministry of Education (both at Head Office and county level) on relevant approvals and operational issues; Planning and execution of project M & E including relevant surveys (where applicable); Preparation of Management and Partner reports on a regular basis; Work closely with partners and marketing to develop a NiE learning materials; NiE data management that enables timely renewal of NIE subscriptions, efficient communication with stakeholders and compliance with the internal and external regulations.
    • Graduate in Education or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
    • Teaching experience / partnership experience with Education institutions will be an added advantage; Ability to conduct activations and engagement in schools; Team player; Project management and good presentation skills; Driving license.

    Internal Auditor

    Role overview:

    We seek to recruit an experienced and self-motivated individual for the role of Internal Auditor. The job holder will play a critical role in achieving implementation of the assigned risk-based internal audit assignments, applying data analytics in the audit planning and execution process of the audit assignments, preparing Internal Audit reports on the control environment, monitoring the implementation of management actions, and, administering assigned controls self-assessments to strengthen first-line defense as per the NMG ERM Framework.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Plan and execute audit assignments to ensure quality audit approach, achievement of set audit objectives and completion within the agreed schedule;
    • Communicate audit results with management and ensure management commitment to the implementation of the resulting management actions;
    • Regular follow-up of management actions and preparation of status reports;
    • Carry out special audits and investigations;
    • Ensure timely preparation and submission of the board pack to the Board Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee; and
    • Provide advisory services to management when requested.

    Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:

    • Bachelor's Degree in a business-related course from a recognized institution;
    • Proven work experience of at least three (3) years in internal audit;
    • Risk Analysis skills;
    • Excellent communication, reporting and presentation skills;
    • Excellent interpersonal skills including emotional intelligence;
    • Knowledge and experience in the use of audit software;
    • Knowledge and experience in data analytics and use of data analysis tools including CAATs;
    • Professional certification in CPA-K or CIA; and
    • Be a member in good standing of a recognized professional body e.g. ICPAK or IAA.
