    Community Mobilizer

     Key Responsibilities

    Community Mobilization & Engagement

    • Identify, recruit, and mobilize vulnerable youth (15–24 years) to participate in the Youth Ready program.
    • Conduct sensitization meetings with parents, caregivers, faith leaders, and local authorities to create awareness and buy-in.
    • Support the formation and strengthening of Youth Ready groups.
    • Facilitate inclusive participation, ensuring gender balance and inclusion of marginalized groups (e.g., refugees, youth with disabilities).

    Youth Ready Model Implementation

    • Support delivery of Youth Ready life skills curriculum through facilitation and coaching.
    • Mentor and guide youth in designing and implementing community service projects.
    • Link youth to mentorship opportunities, apprenticeships, training institutions, and entrepreneurship pathways.
    • Facilitate connections between youth and financial service providers (e.g., savings groups, microfinance, vocational training).
    • Ensure integration of Mental health and PFA in Youth ready Sessions
    • Follow up / Monitoring of youth ready participants with effective documentation of their progress and follow up on drop outs.

    Capacity Building & Mentorship

    • Identify and coordinate local mentors, coaches, and role models to support participating youth.
    • Support peer-to-peer learning, exchange visits, and experience sharing among youth groups.
    • Encourage youth to take leadership in community activities and advocacy initiatives.

    Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting

    • Quality and timely reporting of project interventions and accurate data on youth participation, group activities, and project outcomes.
    • Document success stories, lessons learned, and case studies.
    • Provide regular reports to the Coordinator on progress, challenges, and opportunities.
    • Ensure accountability by sharing project progress and feedback with the community.
    • Participate in weekly in local office and bimonthly meetings with support office and assessments

    Networking & Partnerships

    • Strengthen partnerships with community-based organizations, schools, churches, Private sector, other NGOs, youth led organizations and vocational training providers.
    • Facilitate youth access to government youth funds, grants, and opportunities.
    • Represent the project in community forums, stakeholder meetings, and local and National government engagements.

    Qualifications Required:

    • Minimum Diploma in Community Development, Social Work, Education, Youth Development, or related field.
    • A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Education, or Development Studies is an added advantage.
    • At least 2 years’ experience in youth programming, community mobilization, or livelihoods projects.
    • Experience working with vulnerable populations (youths in crime and drugs , out-of-school youth, young mothers, persons with disabilities).
    • Prior experience in facilitating life skills/ Youth Ready / Positive Youth Development models, savings groups, Empowered world view or Linkages to vocational training programs, Employment and entrepreneurship is desirable.
    • Strong facilitation and group mobilization skills.
    • Knowledge of Positive Youth Development (PYD) and/or the Youth Ready model is an asset.
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and networking skills.
    • Ability to collect, manage, and report data accurately.
    • Problem-solving, adaptability, and cultural sensitivity.
    • Excellent reporting and documenting skills including writing of human transformational stories is an asset.

    Community Mobilizer- Health, Hygiene and Sanitation - Turkana

    MAIN RESPONSILITIES:

    Technical support

    • Liaise with the local administration to mobilize the community for the project interventions.
    • Facilitate community meetings in relation to the projects
    • To support Health, sanitation and hygiene coverage through various behaviour change methodologies, linkages such as CLTS, integrated health outreaches, nutrition (include infant and young child feeding) etc
    • Support various capacity building sessions for the communities such as training the communities on sanitation and nutrition linkages, importance of hand washing with soap at critical times, household water treatment and other hygiene promotion aspects.
    • Support the establishment/strengthening of referral mechanisms/processes by community health promotors (CHPs) and Health workers - Monthly meetings with CHPs.
    • Support roll-out of Health activities in the AP such as maternal, new born and child health (MNCH) and integration of the same into WASH activities

    Quality Assurance-Monitoring, reporting and Documentation

    • Support in the coordination of joint monitoring visits between the donor and the national office.
    • Participate in evaluation planning and support data collection teams, analysis and interpretation
    • Support monitoring on a monthly basis (project indicators progress) and make relevant improvements
    • Collect (such as through digital means-m Water) and share information to guide project teams in timely writing and submission of quality reports (Annual, Semi-annul and Monthly Management Reports) in line with WV/grant reporting guidelines and the donor expectation.
    • Utilize financial planning tools such as spending plans, work plans based on project activities and budgets.
    • Utilize budget estimates and anticipated costs based on programmatic priorities and activities for planning purposes.
    • Monitor (with support of the project officer-sanitation and hygiene or other AP WASH and health staff) on a monthly basis the project implementation on budget, on time and on target.
    • Advocacy, Fundraising, Engagement with strategic partners, Linkages and networks & partnership development

    Participate in mobilizing stakeholders during baselines, evaluations and other relevant programming activities

    • Collaborate with community leaders and other partners to plan monitoring activities
    • Represent WVK in relevant forums within the AP area
    • Support fundraising initiatives for health, sanitation and hygiene such as proposal development.
    • Provide support to community led processes of monitoring public service delivery.
    • Ensure communities are mobilized and participate in their WASH and health projects

    QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

    • Diploma in public health/ Environmental health, environmental science, or community health
    • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in implementing behavior change methodologies in sanitation and hygiene such as Community Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) and sanitation marketing.
    • Prior experience working with partners at community level is an advantage
    • Good community mobilization and engagement skills needed
    • Must be computer literate
    • Must be a local resident from Kalapata Ward

    • Participate in the preparation of overall work plan and budget as well as develop activity plans and budgets for technical support of Resilience Protection and Climate Change Project activities
    • Support in the mobilization of project participants to effectively participate in the implementation of project activities.
    • Participate in developing different levels of progress report (weekly updates, situational reports, quarterly, semi-annual and annual reports)
    • Supporting Project Quality Assurance (PQA) through organizing and supporting monitoring visits on L&R interventions.
    • Collaborate with relevant ministries and other relevant partners at the County and community levels to ensure integration and high-level implementation of the planned Project activities.
    • Work closely with relevant authorities to ensure all economic recovery and market systems interventions deployed in the communities are in alignment with L&R in emergency Standards
    • Work together with other staff/ to ensure that key trainings meet the standard required to facilitate, provide knowledge and reinforcement of desired L&R behaviour and practices.

    • Support produce aggregation and marketing activities of the project
    • Work with WVK Officers, local stakeholders and leaders to identify community champions/resource persons for LVCD, Empowered World View and Digitization of farmer records
    • In consultation with other staff develop capacity assessment tools for producer groups and develop a capacity development plan
    • Facilitate the capacity building of the partners and farmer groups on LVCD activities (Climate Smart Agriculture, Entrepreneurship, post-harvest management and value addition, transformational leadership)
    • Facilitate linkages of the savings groups to FAST product to enhance their performance
    • Ensure cross cutting themes are integrated into LVCD interventions
    • Provide technical support and timely feedback to the AP Manager on the Empowered world view, Savings for Transformation, FAST and LVCD interventions outlined in the project documents.
    • Organize meetings with key local value chain actors and farmers to forge effective support of the LVCD interventions

    • Continuously track progress of planned activities and outputs in the detailed implementation plan to ensure timely and quality implementation of plans

    Supply Chain Coordinator

    Key Responsibilities:

    Planning

    • Advise on all procurement related matters.
    • Facilitates across all parties the timely resolution of issues that could impact meeting the needs of the requestor and communities.
    • Identify alternative supply sources for materials / services not under contract
    • Ensure safe delivery and receipt of ordered goods and services.

    • Execute the Market Assessment and Supplier Pre-Qualification process as per the set guidelines based on the set guidelines for the assigned categories.

    • Lead negotiations for the assigned Categories.
    • Supervise the procurement processes and Assistance work relating to sourcing.

    Supplier contact relationship and management

    • Accurately complete the master data management forms (or contract/supplier register)

    • Identify & resolve or escalate contract-related issues both internally and externally.

    • Manage PO Change requests coordinating with Requesters, Budget Owners and Suppliers

    • Maintain proper filing and record keeping as per the guidelines set by the management.
    • Coordinate with Requesters to close out open POs in a timely manner.
    • Implementation of agreed audit recommendations in the procurement process as per the guidance given by the HoD.
    • Participate in process to Review Partners / Sub-Grantees, internal control system in the procurement process to identify any gaps, document them under assessment reports, and capture under capacity building plans.
    • Periodically monitor the progress on implementation of recommendations and update the management of all parties.

    Training and capacity building

    • Coordinate, participate in, and/or train staff from Supply Chain Staff and other WVI Departments on WVI Procurement Policies, Processes, and Systems.
    • Conduct Partners' / Sub-Grantees' capacity assessment and capacity building plans as per set framework / guidelines.
    • Train the Partners / Sub-Grantees based on the approved capacity building plan, monitor progress. Coordinate with internal stakeholders in monitoring the progress and submit progress reports to the management.

    KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

    Required Professional experience

    • University degree in Business Administration, Procurement or procurement relevant field.
    • Post graduate qualification in Purchasing and Supplies Management from CIPS Level 4.
    • At least 4 years' experience in Procurement or Supply Chain
    • Computer literate with excellent working knowledge in MS Office.
    • Experience in working with Enterprise Resource Platform (ERP’s)

    Required Education & Certification

    • A member of Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM)
    • A member of CIPS

    Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications

    • High professional ethics and integrity
    • Good interpersonal and organizing skills
    • Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities
