    Payroll Officer

    Job Summary

    The Payroll Officer responsibilities include calculating employees’ compensation, updating internal payroll databases and ensuring timely payments and distribution of payslips. The incumbent will also ensure timely salary advances and statutory payments. Ultimately, the job holder’s overall responsibility is to ensure a smooth and accurate payroll process.

    Responsibilities

    • Collect daily, weekly or monthly time-sheets
    • Calculate bonuses and allowances
    • Prepare employees’ compensation by the end of each month using payroll software
    • Distribute payment statements and payslips
    • Report on payroll expenses
    • Ensure wages and tax withholdings comply with regulations
    • Enter new employees’ data (e.g. bank accounts and tax identification numbers) into internal databases
    • Ensure compliance with statutory processing and payments
    • Process salary advances
    • Answer questions about compensation, benefits, taxes and insurance deductions

    Requirements and skills

    • BSc in Accounting, Human Resources or relevant field
    • Proven work experience as a Payroll Officer for between 500 to 1000 employees
    • Hands-on experience with HRIS and accounting software
    • Strong math skills (good with numbers) with an ability to spot numerical errors
    • Good knowledge of labour laws
    • Time-management skills
    • Ability to handle sensitive information with utmost confidentiality
    • Ability to work long hours with minimal supervision

    Ferti-Irrigation Supervisor

    Job Summary

    Ensure efficient execution of all fertigation and water management related tasks by performing and/or supervising performance of tasks in your area of operation to support crop production to achieve the required quality, quantity within the set time at sustainable cost.

    Responsibilities

    • In coordination with the Ferti-Irrigation Manager, be responsible for the management of the daily ferti-irrigation cycles supply with frequencies and timing set on the GH’s programs, according to the % volume drain return, the weather conditions and the plants development stages and decide the daily cycles duration and frequency.
    • Produce accurate reports (daily work plan, weekly and monthly report)
    • Carry out effective performance reviews for all general workers working under you as per the company’s performance appraisal policy.
    • Define their training needs and in consultation with your supervisor, implement actions to close the performance gaps.
    • Daily check on all ferti equipment.
    • Basic daily maintenance of ferti equipment.
    • Fogging service and maintenance.
    • Daily check on UV treatment units.

    Requirements and skills

    • A BSC degree preferably in Agricultural Engineering, Soil and Water Engineering or Bio-Mechanical Engineering.
    • 1 to 5 years hands on experience in drip irrigation systems in a commercial farm set up.
    • Experience in hydroponics is an added advantage.
    • Knowledge in Microsoft Office Access and Excel.
    • Strong communication skills.
    • Good interpersonal skills.
    • Keen to details with high observation skills.
    • Available 6 days a week including Sundays and Public Holidays
