    Pilot - First Officer

    Job Purpose:

    Provide support to the PIC so as to ensure the aircraft is operated as per the conditions laid down in the operations manual and its volumes.

    Key Responsibilities:

    The Pilot - First Officers shall:

    • The Assist the Commander as requested, concerning administrative duties in relation to the flight.
    • Participate in the planning and execution of company flights in accordance with legal and company policies and procedures to ensure safe, efficient and economical operation.
    • Carry out such duties concerning the flight, in accordance with Company Standard Operating Procedures, including procedures, limitations and performance relating to the specific aircraft Type, as are allocated to him by the Commander.
    • Confirm the safe navigation of the aircraft, maintaining a continuous and independent check upon both the geographical position of the aircraft and its safe terrain clearance.
    • Volunteer such advice, information and assistance to the Commander as may contribute favorably towards the safe and efficient conduct of the flight.
    • Seek and receive such information and/or explanation from the Commander as may be necessary to enable the First Officer to fulfill his function.
    • Represent and uphold company values to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
    • Support and assist the captain in leading, motivating and directing operating crew to achieve high levels of discipline, morale and performance.
    • Verify and assure availability of flight documentation and aircraft library, contents and correctness before and after the flight.
    • Ensure implementation of safety, security and emergency standards at all times.
    • Ensure and maintain a healthy, safe and secure working environment in compliance with the relevant industry, regulatory and legislative requirements, company procedures, regulatory authorities and requirements of customer airlines.

    Knowledge, Skills, Experience

    Pilot - First Officer (E-Jet, B737-NG, B737F & B787)

    • Minimum 500 hours on a commercial jet aircraft
    • Bachelors Degree would be preferred/desirable
    • Preference will be given to applications with Flight Management system experience
    • Valid Commercial Pilot License
    • Instrument Rating
    • Multi Engine Rating
    • Performance Rating A
    • Gas Turbine training
    • ICAO English proficiency of at least Level 4
    • Medical certificate
    • Qualified on type

    Pilot - Captain

    Job Purpose:

    Ensure the aircraft is operated as per the conditions laid down in the operations manual and its volumes.

    Key Responsibilities:

    The Pilot- Captain shall:

    • Plan, and supervise the execution of company flights in accordance with legal and company policies and procedures, authorized checklists and to ensure safe, efficient, and economical operation.
    • Maintain familiarity with relevant international air legislation, agreed aviation practices and procedures and the Company Operations Manual.
    • Be responsible for the safety of all crew members, passengers, and cargo onboard when the doors are closed.
    • Be responsible for the operation and safety of the aircraft from the moment the aircraft is ready to move for the purpose of taking off until the moment it finally comes to rest at the end of the flight and the engines are shut down.
    • Have authority to give all commands he deems necessary for the purpose of securing the safety of the aircraft and of persons or property carried therein, and all persons carried in the aircraft shall obey such commands.
    • Have authority to disembark any person, or any part of the cargo, which in his opinion, may represent a potential hazard to the safety of the aircraft or its occupants.
    • Not allow a person to be carried in the aircraft who appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs to the extent that the safety of the aircraft or its occupants is likely to be endangered.
    • Have the right to refuse transportation of inadmissible passengers, deportees, or persons in custody if their carriage poses any risk to the safety of the aircraft or its occupants.
    • Ensure that passengers are briefed on the location of emergency exits and the location and use of relevant safety and emergency equipment.
    • Ensure that all operational procedures and checklists are complied with, in accordance with the Operations Manual.
    • Ensure that the weather forecast and reports for the proposed operating area and flight duration indicate that the flight may be conducted without infringing Company operating minima.
    • Decide whether to accept an aircraft with unserviceability’s allowed by the CDL or MEL; on acceptance of an unserviceability allowed by the MEL, check for any special procedures which may apply under the MEL provision.
    • Take all reasonable steps to ensure that the aircraft and any required equipment is serviceable.
    • In the absence of a qualified Company engineer, ensure that the aircraft refuelling is supervised with particular attention being paid to the correct grade of fuel, fuel water checks, fire safety precautions, and checking filler caps for security and correct replacement after refuelling.
    • Take all reasonable steps to ensure that the aircraft mass and balance is within the calculated limits for the operating conditions.
    • Confirm that the aircraft performance will enable it to complete safely the proposed flight.
    • Not permit any crew member to perform any activity during take-off, initial climb, final approach, and landing except those duties required for the safe operation of the aircraft.
    • Take all reasonable steps to ensure that before take-off and before landing the crew are properly secured in their allocated seats.
    • Take all reasonable steps to ensure that whenever the aircraft is taxiing, taking off or landing, or whenever he considers it advisable (e.g., in turbulent conditions), passengers are properly secured in their seats, and any cabin baggage is stowed in the approved stowage.
    • Ensure that the documents and Manuals in Para 8.1.12 are carried and will remain valid throughout the flight or series of flights.
    • Ensure that the pre-flight inspection has been carried out.
    • Not permit a flight data recorder to be disabled, switched off or erased during flight, or permit recorded data to be erased after flight in the event of an accident or an incident subject to mandatory reporting.
    • Not permit a cockpit voice recorder to be disabled or switched off during flight unless he believes that the recorded data, which otherwise would be erased automatically, should be preserved for incident or accident investigation, nor permit recorded data to be manually erased during or after flight in the event of an accident or incident subject to mandatory reporting.
    • Monitor and direct operating crew during flight and at out-stations to achieve high levels of discipline, morale, and performance.
    • In an emergency that requires immediate decision and action, take any action he considers necessary under the circumstances. In such cases he may deviate from rules, operational procedures, and methods in the interest of safety.
    • Have the authority to apply greater safety margins, including aerodrome operating minima, if he deems it necessary.
    • Ensure that in the event of third-party maintenance being required while away from base, the procedures referred to in the maintenance log are followed.
    • Ensure that a continuous listening watch is always maintained on the appropriate radio communication frequencies whenever the flight crew is manning the aircraft for the purpose of commencing and/or conducting a flight and while taxiing.
    • Furnish a report pertaining to the flight for management actions
    • Ensure implementation of safety, security, and emergency standards at all times.
    • Ensure and maintain a healthy, safe, and secure working environment in compliance with the relevant industry, regulatory and legislative requirements, company procedures, regulatory authorities, and requirements of customer airlines.
    • Represent and uphold company values to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.

    Knowledge, Skills, Experience

    • Bachelors Degree would be preferred/desirable
