    Pharmaceutical Technologist

    JOB PURPOSE:

    • Assist the pharmacist in the day-to-day operations of the hospital pharmacy, ensuring accurate and timely medication dispensing and providing support to patients.
    • Demonstrate superior seamless customer service, integrity, and commitment to innovation, efficiency, and fiscally respon- sible activity

    Key Responsibilities:
    Medication Dispensing:

    • Assist in dispensing and labeling medications accurately and efficiently.
    • Process and handle prescription orders in compliance with pharmacy protocols.
    • Compounding and preparing extemporaneous medications as per doctor's prescription
    • Report and document medication errors and/near misses to supervisor for appropriate preventive measures.

    Inventory Control:

    • Maintain pharmacy inventory, perform regular stock checks and assist in restocking.
    • Collaborate with the pharmacist to manage medications and prevent wastage/expiry.

    Customer Service:

    • Provide excellent customer service, addressing patient inquiries and ensuring a positive pharmacy experience. Collaborate with healthcare providers to address medication-related concerns.

    Regulatory Compliance:

    • Follow regulatory guidelines and pharmacy policies to ensure compliance.
    • Assist in maintaining accurate records of medication transactions and patient profiles.

    Operational Support:

    • Operate and maintain pharmacy equipment, ensuring proper functioning.
    • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized pharmacy environment.

    Job Requirements:

    • Minimum Qualifications Diploma in Pharmacy
    • Valid enrollment certificate and practicing license from Kenya Pharmacy and Poisons Board.

    Experience

    • 3+ years' work experience.

    Technical skills/Leadership competencies

    • Proficiency in computer application packages Knowledge of pharmacy operations and pharmaceutical/dispensing software.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling.

    Community Oral Health Officer

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assess dental conditions and needs of patients using defined dental patient screening and monitoring procedures.
    • Document patient dental history, observations including lab procedures and follow up on results
    • Conduct, develop and mount radiographs as well as trace radiographs required for corrective treatment.
    • Analyze dental x-rays and evaluate dental needs as necessary including medical history review and dental charting
    • Perform authorized dental procedures including cleaning teeth, removing plaques, replacing missing teeth, filling cavities, rebuilding of broken teeth and removing severely damaged teeth in a safe and sterile environment while providing a quality dental experience during the procedure.
    • Reduce simple fractures of the Jaw.
    • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments and tray setups for dental procedures.
    • Conduct dental health education to patients.
    • Offer counsel to patients who require reassurance.
    • Implement and adhere to infection prevention protocols including autoclaving instruments after use, cleaning the dental procedure's space and storage of the clean instruments.
    • Treat and follow up with patients to prevent the worsening of dental diseases.
    • Provide instruction on dental care and write prescriptions for patients.
    • Assist the Dental surgeon in procedures and conduct procedures under supervision by the surgeon.
    • Maintain a record of day to day activities of the dental unit and prepare regular reports as needed
    • Avoid stock-outs by proper inventory management of equipment and supplies at the dental unit.
    • Ensure all procedures are correctly billed to capture revenue. Enforce adherence to the established company's policies and procedures in order to maintain quality assurance in delivery of oral health services

    Job Requirements:
    Minimum Qualifications

    • Diploma in Community Oral health from a recognized institution
    • Valid annual practicing license
    • Registered by Oral Health Association of Kenya (OHAK).

    Experience

    • Minimum of 2 or more years of as a COHO in a busy hospital.

    Locum-Dentist

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Examining teeth and diagnosing patients' dental conditions by using tools such as x-rays
    • Treating pathological conditions of the oral cavity
    • Performing dental surgery, including the extraction of teeth and roots, removal of impacted teeth
    • Analyzing oral radiographs for diagnostic purposes Prescribing medications for infection control, pain control, and for the control of viral, bacterial, and fungal infections Providing instructions in oral hygiene and methods of preventing the spread of oral diseases.
    • Reviewing medical histories and records dental treatment in medical charts to ensure that treatment plan does not compromise patient health
    • Assessing treatment options and agreeing on treatment plans with patients
    • Carrying out agreed clinical treatments such as restoring teeth affected by decay and treating gum disease
    • Maintaining patients' dental records and information by entering patient details in the information system (computer) or other patient records
    • Providing guidance to dental nurse and receptionist in delivering patient care and coordinating appointments Attending meetings, forums, seminars and workshops organized by the management
    • Maintaining strict confidentiality and treats staff, physicians and patients with dignity and respect
    • Liaising daily with medical/non-medical staff including other doctors and healthcare professionals for effective care delivery
    • Preparing operational reports to the management for various activities and operations undertaken
    • Performing any other related duties within the clinic as may be assigned

    Job Requirements:
    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor degree in Dental surgery from a recognized university.
    • Registered with the Kenya Medical Pharmacists and Dental Council
    • At least 2 years' relevant post-qualification experience

    Experience

    • Minimum of 3 or more years of admin experience.

    Technical skills/Leadership competencies

    • Thorough knowledge of the practices and techniques of dental surgery
    • Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
    • Proficiency in computer application packages.
    • Good administrative and computer skills
    • Good interpersonal skills
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to set priorities, complete work with minimal supervision, and meet deadlines.
    • Effective communication both oral and written.
    • Time management skills
    • Planning and organizational skills
