Job summary:

The role is responsible for ensuring that material and products will always be at the right place to achieve maximum efficiency.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Unload materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack them to assigned places
2. Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment
3. Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies
4. Transport raw materials to production workstations
5. Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance
6. Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs
7. Comply with company policies and legal guidelines
8. Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facilities
9. Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

1. 5 years proven experience as a forklift operator
2. Experience in a manufacturing set up
3. High regard for work safety
4. High degree of consciousness to standard operating procedures in forklift operation
5. Valid driving license and preference for candidates with technical training.

Job summary:

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Ensure optimal and continuous operation of mechanical systems by performing routine inspections and maintenance, monitoring metering equipment and adjusting levels as necessary
• Maintain systems by scheduling and carrying out regular inspections, cleanings, filter replacement and all other tasks necessary to keep all components performing optimally; identify and repair or replace malfunctioning components
• Ensure safety by monitoring safety equipment, identifying potential issues and taking appropriate steps to repair the problem
• Perform necessary repairs and replacements, obtain replacement parts and upgrade components as needed
• Supervise team of assistant operators and mechanics by delegating repair, maintenance and monitoring tasks, scheduling jobs, providing appropriate instruction and giving constructive feedback on performance
• Study to keep current on knowledge of all applicable safety laws, regulations and policies in order to ensure full compliance at all times
• Create and maintain properly documented records of inspections, maintenance routines and repairs
• Sustain up-to-date knowledge of developments in relevant technology and make recommendations for improvements/upgrades

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

1. AT least Diploma in mechanical engineering field from a recognized institution.
2. Minimum 5 years of experience with complex steam, water & compressed air  systems in a busy manufacturing setting
3. Knowledge/experience in operation/maintenance of effluent treatment plant is an added advantage
4. Advanced Boiler operator Certification from NITA.
5. Excellent oral and written communication skills
6. Detail-oriented and highly safety-conscious
7. Ability to work under pressure
