    Catering Officer

    Brief Description        

    Execute daily catering operations so as to ensure seamless product delivery and efficient management of catering processes in a timely, safe and secure environment.

    Detailed Description        
    Principal Accountabilities (Responsibility) 

    •  Execute planned catering activities to ensure reliability of standards and schedules
    •  Monitor all safety and security guidelines and regulations are observed and incorporated in all operational tasks
    • Report on catering meal uplift per flight and address any operational challenges
    • Monitor and manage any disruptions in liaison with related stakeholders
    • Monitor efficient and effective loading and offloading of in-flight amenities to achieve targeted objectives
    • Audit catering products from catering supplier and ensure KQ specifications are adhered to at all times
    • Monitor waste management and over catering initiatives are in line with projected targets
    • Verify loading of items from the caterer and spot check on meals
    • Monitor and report on catering equipment return from out stations
    • Monitor proper loading of reading materials, landing cards, visa forms, headsets, blankets and other amenities
    • Monitor meal uplifts and communicate to out stations on return catering
    • Ensure all SPMLs are loaded and handed over to Crew with appropriate paperwork on flights ex-NBO and back catered flights
    • Meet arriving flights and solicit for feedback from crew in regard to the catering product.
    • Participate in all catering related meetings and ensure implementation of any recommendations
    • Ordering of out station landing cards and preparation of in-flight documents for use on board
    • Input meal data and do a daily reconciliation with NBO catering supplier.
    • Ensure closure on variances daily

    Job Requirements        
    Qualification (Minimum) 

    • KCSE Mean Grade (C Plain)
    • Advanced Diploma in catering or hospitality related field

    Additional Qualifications  

    • Certified in catering or related field
    • At least 4 years relevant experience in catering
    • Computer proficiency
    • Organizational and analytical skills
    • Food and beverage knowledge
    • HACCP Knowledge
    • Valid East African Passport
    • Valid driving license with at least 2 years’ experience
    • 4 years in Food and Beverage related field

    Regional Manager.International Stations - Ground Services

    Brief Description        

    Overall accountable for providing leadership and management of Ground Handling Services in International stations operations within agreed standards and financial targets.

    Detailed Description        
    Policies and Procedures:

    • Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, security, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the International stations to guarantee employee safety, corporate security, legislative compliance, delivery of quality customer service with a responsible environmental attitude so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

    Safety, Quality & Environment:

    • Promote and maintain a positive safety culture, a healthy, secure and cost-effective operation for Kenya Airways operations in International stations and ensure compliance with the relevant industry/legislative requirements and company procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
    • Oversee the implementation of the Enterprise Risk Management framework within International stations and ensure at least quarterly reviews of the risk control environment and submission of the Risk Control Matrix (RCM).
    • Perform risk assessment, maintain and contribute to the International stations risk register
    • Analyse safety hazards, near misses, incidents and accidents International stations and ensure effective implementation of root cause corrections.
    • Responsible for robust occupational safety and health (OSH) in International stations through quarterly safety action group (SAG) reviews and monthly safety inspections in all international stations.
    • Deliver agreed KSPI’s for international stations

    Day-to-Day Operations:

    • Contribute to the definition and development of KQ product portfolio particularly Ground handling services in International Stations.
    • Work closely with Network planning and GHA’s to support KQ expansion in different airports and enhance growth.
    • Accountable for cost & financial control within International Stations as per approved Budget
    • Ensure cost effective delivery of ground handling services in accordance with the agreed scope and standards asper service level agreements (SLA)
    • Develop International Stations key performance indicators (KPI’s), Reporting and analysis tools.
    • Responsible for planning for Stations Manpower requirement for budget purposes in line with KQ schedules and expansions.
    • Responsible for planning and follow-up of the International Stations budgets.
    • Work closely with the Commercial and station managers to identify new revenue and cost saving opportunities.
    • Ensure closure of all non-compliance issues arising from audits and evaluations within time frame provided. Improve the cooperation of International stations and the Hub team by developing and optimizing the communication process to reduce the impact of irregular operations.
    • Provide for an efficient and effective organizational structure to deliver agreed scope and standard of service.
    • Ensure suitably trained/qualified/competent staff are placed throughout the stations.
    • Ensure GHA’s comply with SLA’s asper company service quality standards and authorities’ safety and security requirements.
    • Create and maintain a working relationship with airport stakeholders for the benefit of the company

    Job Requirements        

    • Relevant University Degree with relevant professional qualification
    • 7 years working experience in airline operations with at least 3 years in managerial level
    • Customer service experience within the hospitality/airline industry.
    • Financial awareness.
    • Process oriented.
    • Experienced in planning and managing extensive human and material resources.
    • Experienced in delivering service in demanding consumer perishable environment.

    Cargo System Coordinator

    Brief Description        

    The cargo system coordinator will be responsible for Providing functional, process and procedural support to all users of the cargo operations system. Will drive Cargo Operational system utilization and monitor work instructions to enable best practice, Monitor system usage across the cargo network in accordance with KQ Standard Operating procedures and vendor’s recommendations and operations analysis. Functional lead and coordinate on system enhancement and improvement. Lead dissemination of new system changes through training and monitoring.

    • Serve as the primary point of contact between the cargo business units and technology teams, facilitating clear communication and alignment of objectives.
    • Analyze current cargo business processes and systems to identify areas for improvement and optimization through technology integration.
    • Work closely with technology teams to design, implement, and test technological solutions that meet the needs of the cargo business units.
    • Provide training and support to cargo business users on new technologies and system enhancements.
    • Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for enhancements or modifications to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers to evaluate and implement new technologies or system upgrades.
    • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in cargo operations and technology integration and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
    • Support project management activities related to cargo technology initiatives, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.

    Job Requirements        
    Qualification (Minimum)  

    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Arts, Information Technology, or a related field.
    • Two (2) years of experience in cargo operation or in a similar environment.
    • Basic Skill in cargo operations, business analysis, or technology integration roles.
    • Strong understanding of cargo business processes and operations, including freight forwarding, logistics, and supply chain management.
    • Proven experience working with technology teams to implement system enhancements or integrations.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
    • Project management experience, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and drive initiatives to successful completion.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
