    Bicycle Mechanic

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Assemble and repair bicycles, installing replacement parts and accessories to meet manufacturer specifications and customer needs.
    • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and adjustments of MWR-owned bicycles available for rent to ensure safety, performance, and longevity.
    • Maintain a detailed and accurate bicycle repair log, ensuring it is up-to-date and available for government review twice per month.
    • Provide bicycle repair and assembly services for customer-owned bikes, and ensure fees are established and approved by the Government prior to service.
    • Assemble bicycles for MWR programs in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
    • Perform customer bicycle repair and assembly work in compliance with all applicable manufacturer requirements.
    • Provide on-site maintenance and repair support during all bike races sponsored by MWR on the island of Diego Garcia, ensuring bicycles are safe for use by participants.
    • Operate and maintain a safe and clean bike repair shop, ensuring tools and equipment are in proper working condition and available for efficient repair and assembly processes.
    • Work closely with customers, addressing service requests, inquiries, and concerns regarding bicycle assembly, repair, or rental.
    • Identify and order replacement parts and supplies for bicycle repair and assembly operations as needed.
    • Ensure all work complies with safety standards and maintain positive relations with customers to enhance user experience.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • 1-3 years of experience as a bicycle mechanic or performing bicycle assembly, repair, or maintenance services.
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Knowledge of bicycle mechanics, including assembly, adjustments, and repairs, in compliance with manufacturer guidelines and safety standards.
    • Experience maintaining detailed service records or logs and proficiency in ensuring quality assurance.
    • Basic mechanical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and address issues on a variety of bicycle types and brands.
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills for interacting with a diverse group of residents and customers.
    • Ability to work efficiently and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

    Automotive Body Repairer

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Repairs vehicles per estimate and according to manufacturer standards.
    • Checks parts against estimate and ensures proper parts are ordered and received.
    • Prepares vehicles for body repair work.
    • Notifies management of any additional repairs needed.
    • Notifies management of any difficulties or problems that may prevent a quality job from being performed or cause a change in the promised time.
    • Maintains tools and equipment in a proper state of repair.
    • Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer.
    • Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners and other hazardous materials. Reports any deviations to management.
    • Cooperates and assists other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles.
    • Understands, keeps abreast of and complies with federal, state and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know etc.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
    • Six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Must be in possession of a valid passport and able to travel internationally.

    • Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.

    Elevator Mechanic

    DUTIES:

    • Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
    • Comply with all Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements and goals.  Provide information and materials to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation.
    • Locate and determine causes of trouble in brakes, motors, switches, and signal and control systems using test lamps, ammeters, and voltmeters.
    • Disassemble defective units and repair or replace parts including locks, gears, cables, and faulty safety devices.
    • Lubricate bearings and other parts to minimize friction.
    • Install or repair transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment. Works from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications to locate and diagnose trouble in the equipment
    • Perform preventative maintenance in accordance with published schedules, operating procedures, and equipment warranties. Provide input to upgrade content and frequency of preventative maintenance tasks.
    • Conducts tests of equipment using voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, continuity testers, feeler gauges, frequency counters and other test equipment considered tools of the trade.
    • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

    REQUIRED:

    Minimum Acceptable Experience Level:

    • Experience must include familiarity with working sketches, engineering drawings, wiring diagrams and manufacturers’ operations and maintenance manuals.
    • Knowledge of applicable European and/or US Electrical Codes and acceptable trade practices also.
    • Familiar with annual maintenance requirements of electrical and mechanical systems.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Knowledge of applicable US Electrical Codes and acceptable trade practices.
    • Familiarity with annual maintenance requirements and load testing procedures.

    Education:

    • A high school diploma or GED is required.
    • Strongly preferred is either an apprentice program with a Journeyman's Certificate and/or equivalent field experience

    DESIRED:

    • Experience with Otis GEN2 MRL Elevators is highly desirable.
    • Previous out of home country experience and previous work experience in harsh environmental conditions are a plus.
    • Experience working with Amentum.

    Heavy Equipment Mechanic

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles and equipment, including Non-Tactical Vehicles (NTVE), Weight Handling Equipment (WHE), Material Handling Equipment (MHE), and Other Handling Equipment (OHE).
    • Conduct body, fender, and mechanical repairs to ensure transportation equipment is safe, operational, and presents a professional and sightly appearance.
    • Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical systems and components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and other related equipment.
    • Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks such as oil changes, lubrication, and tune-ups to ensure vehicles and equipment remain operational and in compliance with operational standards.
    • Troubleshoot mechanical failures using appropriate tools, equipment, and diagnostic devices to identify and repair issues efficiently and accurately.
    • Repair and maintain components and systems for vehicles and equipment involved in Air Force, Space Force, AMC, ARTs, and GEODD operations.
    • Document maintenance activities, including findings, repairs, and replacements, while ensuring compliance with all applicable maintenance standards and regulations.
    • Assess and maintain a safe and effective working environment, adhering to safety and environmental guidelines during all maintenance and repair activities.
    • Assist in coordinating the sourcing and procurement of parts and materials required for scheduled and emergency repairs.
    • Maintain records of parts usage and ensure the availability of critical components to ensure the timely repair and maintenance of the vehicle fleet.
    • Operate tools, machines, and equipment safely and in full compliance with operational and manufacturer requirements.
    • Provide support for inspections and certifications of repaired vehicles to ensure compliance with local and military standards.
    • Collaborate with other maintenance and transportation staff to ensure efficient workflow and meet service deadlines.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • A minimum of two (2) years of journeyman-level experience in vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair, specifically in the areas of NTVE, WHE, MHE, or OHE.
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Hands-on experience conducting both bodywork and mechanical repairs on heavy equipment and vehicles.
    • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems such as engines, transmissions, braking systems, hydraulics, and control systems.
    • Familiarity with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance practices for a wide variety of vehicles and heavy equipment.
    • Proficiency in diagnostic tools, machinery, and equipment used to troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams related to vehicle and equipment maintenance.
    • Knowledge of safety requirements and best practices for heavy equipment maintenance, as well as applicable industry regulations.

    Crane Inspector

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Conduct periodic inspections, testing, and certification of cranes and hoisting equipment to ensure compliance with applicable safety and operational standards.
    • Perform load testing and performance assessments on cranes and lifting devices, ensuring proper operation and adherence to manufacturer and regulatory specifications.
    • Document all inspections and certification activities, maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely submission of reports to appropriate stakeholders.

    • Ensure all inspection tools and equipment are properly maintained, calibrated, and fit for use.
    • Collaborate with supervisors, operators, and safety professionals to resolve crane operation issues and implement effective solutions.
    • Educate personnel regarding safe crane operations and compliance with Navy and international safety requirements.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • 1–3 years of relevant experience in crane inspections, heavy equipment assessments, or related fields.
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of crane operation, maintenance, and inspection requirements for mobile, overhead, and tower cranes.
    • Familiarity with standards such as OSHA, ASME B30, NAVFAC P-307, and other applicable guidelines.
    • Ability to conduct detailed inspections for structural, mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components on cranes.
    • Must be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
    • Passport should be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.

    Transient Line Technician

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
    The Transient Line Technician is responsible for assisting the Transient Line Production Superintendent with ground handling and servicing of arriving and departing aircraft. Duties include performing standard aviation operations and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Providing ground handling and servicing for arriving and departing aircraft, including refueling, towing, and securing as required.
    • Following and performing Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) standard marshalling commands, ensuring safe and efficient aircraft movements on the ground.
    • Supporting aircraft maintenance checks, inspections, and operational activities under supervision.
    • Coordinating with T-Line supervisors and other team members to ensure timely servicing of all aircraft.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Minimum two (2) years of general aircraft maintenance experience. (Experience with large-body aircraft is preferred.)
    • Demonstrated understanding of FAA standard marshalling commands and ability to perform these tasks confidently.
    • Must possess a current and valid driver’s license (U.S. or International).
    • Knowledge of aviation ground handling practices and procedures, with an emphasis on safety compliance.
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Must be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
    • Passport should be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.
    • Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for the duration of deployment.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Formal aviation ground handling certifications or related training.
    • Previous experience in servicing large-body aircraft operations, including cargo and passenger aircraft.

    • Valid country driver’s license and passport.
