    Research and Innovation Manager

    PURPOSE:

    The role holder will be responsible for managing research strategies and initiatives across the Group and using derived insights to seek new opportunities within the respective markets and inform business decisions.

    The role holder will also support the development of new products through research and analytics.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop and oversee implementation of market research strategies across the Group;
    • Coordinate and manage all research work conducted internally and by external service providers;
    • Continuously monitor new trends for insights and opportunities in the market and advise management;
    • Support new product development initiatives in liaison with other departments;
    • Monitor the performance of products, enhancements and obsolescence;
    • Design and implement a feedback mechanism for the Group, including staff and customer surveys;
    • Profile all company customers based on available data;
    • Prepare and implement research yearly calendar as well as monitor utilization of the function’s budget;

    PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

    Academic Qualifications

    • A Bachelors and/or Master’s Degree in Marketing Research, Marketing, Sociology, Anthropology or related fields
    • Excellent knowledge of statistical packages (e.g. SPSS, Quantum)

    Professional Qualifications

    • Holds membership to local and/or global research associations

    Experience

    • Up to Five (5) years’ relevant experience

    • Strong communication and presentation skills
    • Leads by example and empowers others by instilling a sense of ownership
    • Confident negotiation/ persuasion skills

    Project Management Officer

    PURPOSE:

    To ensure implementation of assigned projects within the planned time and budget and to the satisfaction project owners and users.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Plan the project which will include; defining the scope, developing work plan and schedules, determine the required resources and set objectives and measures in consultation with the appropriate stakeholders
    • Staff the project which will include; selecting staff and/or volunteers with appropriate skills for the project activities in consultation with the business units, manage project staff according to the established policies and practices
    • Implement the project which will include; executing the project according to the project plan, develop records to document project activities, monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project, establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders and review the quality of the work completed with the project team
    • Control the project which will include; monitoring the project progress and communicate to project sponsors, monitor budgeted expenditures and project cash flows, maintain financial records and any supporting documents and manage change requests as per the change management plan
    • Evaluate the project which include; ensuring that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality and evaluating the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase 

    PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

    Academic Qualifications

    • Degree in Business, project management or other relevant degree

    Professional Qualifications

    • Project Management Certification – Added advantage

    Experience

    • Four (4) years’ relevant experience.
