    Security Manager

    Tasks and Responsibilities

    Security Management

    • Implement and refine a security management structure that addresses all duty of care requirements for the client and mitigates the risk to the safety of client’s personnel and stakeholders.
    • Conduct security inductions and training for client staff and stakeholders as required.
    • Provide ongoing review and amendment of the baseline security risk assessments conducted from time to time, to address the changing risk environment and make recommendations for the enhancement of physical and procedural security.
    • Ensure any additional resources engaged by the client or its partners are adequate in size, training and effectiveness; that they are aware of the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights (VPSHR); and that they are contractually meeting the expectations and demands of the client.
    • Provide management and oversight of the security teams (as required)
    • Ensuring the maintenance of a dedicated security presence in the duty station/area.
    • Build and maintain a comprehensive and effective information gathering network in order to prepare and implement emergency response procedures.
    • Provide both proactive risk mitigation and reactive support for incident response.

    Manned guarding supervision

    • Co-ordinate all guard force activities.
    • Maintain standards of discipline and ensure SOPs are carried out in accordance with best practice.

    Residential security plan implementation

    • Ensure the SOPs laid down in the security plan are adhered to at all times.
    • Monitor all PIDs and ensure are functioning correctly – maintain where required.

    Client Liaison

    • Ensure that the client is satisfied with the service delivery at all times and assess the need to adjust policies and procedures in line with the client requirement.

    Requirements

    Essential

    • Previous experience in Overarching Security Management.
    • Previous manned guarding supervisory management experience.
    • Experience in recommending and implementing physical security best practice in the residential environment.
    • Understanding of technical security systems, monitoring and response.
    • Must have proven client facing capacity and ability to engage in a discreet and professional manner.

    Preferred

    • Bachelor's degree
    • Security / Risk consulting qualification preferred.

    Executive/Close Protection Officer

    Requirements

    • CPO course qualification with appropriate/necessary country license, including FPOSi/FREC3 first responder medic training.
    • Experience in corporate executive protection.
    • Military/law enforcement experience, or equivalent commercial experience.
    • Working knowledge of physical security technologies, methodology, and force management.
    • Strong inter-personal skills with an ability to listen, learn and demonstrate initiative.
    • Ability to remain calm in hostile/demanding circumstances.
    • Flexibility to respond 24/7 to urgent matters with a bias for decisive action.
    • Excellent communication (oral and written) in English.

    Desirable Experience

    • Professional fluency (oral and written) in English highly desirable
    • Experience in either leading or supporting an executive protection team
    • Experience conducting sensitive, complex tasks such as counter-surveillance or behavioural detection
    • Experience of work overseas and in multi-national environments.
    • Experience of working with differing clients’ needs and requirements

    Security Operations Centre (SOC) Operator

    Tasks And Responsibilities

    • Responsible for maintaining 24/7 operations support to clients in all their areas of interest.
    • Obtain recent and relevant data from open-source media to support Control Risks' analysis and reports. The data will be presented in a prescribed format (including word and excel) and submitted for review daily.

    Providing ongoing threat monitoring and providing information to clients by way of proactive and timely succinct alerts and daily reports covering clients' areas of interest.

    Prepare the security reports, in strict conformity with Control Risks' style guide, reporting template & tool bar, and adhering to set reporting timelines.

    • Travel Security (journey management) support to clients where required, including coordination of movement of all operational vehicles in routine and emergency situations, deployment as a security/journey coordinator or Close Protection Officer (CPO) etc.
    • Monitor social media during designated events, and for event-related incidents; real-time monitoring identifying impacts to client operations; proactive social media monitoring for threats.
    • Share incidents alerts to security and business teams.
    • Complete database entries, requests for information for stakeholders, audit detail, and management support.
    • Maintain full and accurate daily log-book recordings of all communication interactions.
    • Monitoring of the tracking system.
    • Provide support and assistance to our embedded consultants and/or field operations teams when required.
    • Pro-actively seek opportunities to develop the SOC and other business-related support tasks.
    • Support business development initiatives through research and reporting potential opportunities from relevant/credible sites.
    • Perform any other duty, in line with Control Risks' objectives, and as assigned by the line manager.
    • Liaise and work effectively with other Control Risks offices, departments and practices

    Requirements

    Essential

    • 1 - 3 years' experience in a security-related role.
    • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
    • Geopolitical knowledge and understanding, including keen interest in security and East African regional affairs.
    • Comfortable working with different technology platforms/applications.
    • Proficient in Information Technology, including with Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc).
    • Experience in successfully engaging with client relationships will be an added advantage.
    • Fluent in English and Kiswahili

    Preferred

    • Experience in a fast-paced, reactive operations centre environment.
    • Civilian, law enforcement or military employment within an intelligence or threat analysis field.
