Design and execute tiered intervention systems for students with learning differences
Work to identify students with additional support needs to ensure their needs are met.
Implement Universal Design for Learning principles and integrate assistive technology to support core subjects.
Develop matrices detailing accommodations for math, literacy and science.
Contribute to the creation of a differentiated programme that both challenges and meets the needs of all students.
Develop strong relationships with parents and caregivers, ensuring a collaborative approach to student support.
Serve as the liaison between the school and external specialists, including psychologists, speech therapists, and occupational therapists.
Conduct reviews with teachers to adjust intervention intensity, modify instructional strategies, and recommend subject-specific accommodations.
Assist with the transition of students from PYP to MYP, which includes leading parent meetings, documenting the meetings and tracking the student’s progress.
The requirements
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University.
Must have a TSC Certificate or an internationally recognized teaching qualification or a BEd / MEd.
At least 5 years of experience implementing Tier 1/2 academic interventions.
Certification in specialized methodologies
Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external specialists.
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
To plan curriculum documents in a collaborative manner to reflect the standards and practices of the Academy and the PYP.
To engage in effective teaching practice that embraces inquiry teaching and learning methods and differentiate activities to meet the needs of all students.
To authentically assess, record and track the progress of all students. Such information is to be communicated sensitively, effectively, and honestly with parents and guardians and be used to inform teaching practice.
To communicate necessary programme information to all stakeholders.
To resource programme needs effectively and ensure careful maintenance of existing inventory.
To actively participate in the life of the Junior School and the Academy as a whole, in and out of normal school hours.
To monitor all students’ behavior at all times to ensure the core values, as expressed in the student handbook and discipline policy, are adhered to throughout the school.
Actively participate in the Appraisal for Growth process as a member of the AKA, M professional learning community.
The requirements
Should have minimum a Bachelor’s degree.
Should have an internationally recognized teaching qualification or a BEd /MEd
At least 3 years teaching Early years / Grade One and 5 years + as a PYP teacher.
Must have knowledge of child development theories and best practices
Must be highly collaborative, creative, adaptable, empathetic, reflective and posses strong communication skill
