    Clinical Nurse Instructor

    JOB DESCRIPTION (Duties & Responsibilities)

    • Teaching and Instruction: Deliver lectures and practical demonstrations; develop lesson plans, and assessments using diverse teaching methodologies.
    • Student Support and Mentorship: Provide academic advising. mentor students through research and clinical placements, and assist with licensure exam preparation
    • Assessment and Evaluation: Design and administer exams, quizzes, and practical evaluations; provide timely, constructive performance feedback.
    • Service and Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional learning and participate in community outreach activities.
    • Compliance and Accreditation: Ensure teaching practices comply with institutional policies and regulatory standards; assist with program accreditation documentation.

    Key Performance Areas

    • Teaching effectiveness (student evaluation scores and pass rates).
    • Curriculum development and delivery (course completion and curriculum improvement).
    • Student support and mentorship.
    • Service and continuous professional development.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Must be a qualified Registered Nurse (KRN, RM, KRCHN, KRNM, or BSCN).
    • A minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSCN) degree.
    • Valid practicing license from the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK).
    • Minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience.
    • Demonstrated experience in coaching and mentoring learners.
    • Previous teaching experience in a nursing education program is preferred.

    • Strong knowledge of nursing theory and clinical practice.
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

    Clinical Medicine Trainer

    REF: KTCM/VOL/B/26-1 POSITION
    JOB DESCRIPTION (Duties & Responsibilities)

    • Deliver lectures and facilitate learning sessions in assigned subject areas.
    • Prepare teaching work plans, lesson plans, and schemes of work.
    • Develop curriculum support materials, lesson notes, and learning resources.
    • Supervise student coursework, assignments, research activities, practical sessions, and clinical attachments.
    • Set, administer, invigilate, and mark examinations or Continuous Assessment Tests (CATS) in accordance with college policies.
    • Monitor, evaluate, and provide feedback on student academic progress.
    • Mentor and guide students on professional and academic development.
    • Coordinate clinical practice and simulation activities.
    • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Medicine or equivalent from a recognized institution.
    • Registered and licensed Clinical Officer with the Clinical Officers Council (COC).
    • Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience in a busy healthcare setting.
    • Proven skills in lesson planning, Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCES), and clinical simulation.
    • A Higher Diploma or specialization (e.g., Emergency Medicine, Paediatrics, Anaesthesia) is a distinct advantage.
    • Prior experience in teaching, mentorship, or clinical instruction is an added advantage.
    • Valid TVETA Trainer License (registration with TVETA) and a pedagogy training certificate will be an added advantage.

    Medical Engineering Trainer

    REF: KTCM/VOL A/C/26-1 POSITION
    JOB DESCRIPTION (Duties & Responsibilities)

    • Deliver lectures and facilitate competency-based learning sessions in assigned medical engineering subject areas.
    • Prepare teaching work plans, schemes of work, and lesson plans in accordance with approved curriculum.
    • Develop curriculum support materials, lesson notes, and digital/physical learning resources.
    • Supervise student coursework, assignments, research projects, practical workshops, and clinical attachments.
    • Set, administer, invigilate, and mark examinations or Continuous Assessment Tests (CATS) in accordance with college and TVET CDACC policies.
    • Monitor, evaluate, and provide documented feedback on student academic progress and competencies.
    • Mentor and guide students on professional ethics, industrial trends, and academic development.
    • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Medical Engineering.
    • Over one (1) year of teaching/training experience in a technical institution, OR 2+ years of relevant industry experience.
    • Registered and Licensed Medical Engineer by the Association of Medical Engineering of Kenya (AMEK).
    •  Valid TVETA Trainer License (registration with TVETA) and a pedagogy training certificate will be an added advantage.

    Mortuary Science Trainer

    Business & Economics Trainer

    REF: KTCM/VOL F/M/26-1 POSITION
    JOB DESCRIPTION (Duties & Responsibilities)

    • Instruction: Conduct training sessions in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, Entrepreneurship, Sales/Marketing, or related units following approved curricula.
    • Assessment: Prepare, invigilate, and mark examinations and assessments.
    • Curriculum Development: Review and update training materials to reflect contemporary market and industry trends.
    • Mentorship: Supervise and assess trainees during their industrial attachments.
    • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of work, student attendance, and performance metrics as required by TVETA guidelines

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Commerce (B. Com) degree, Accounting or Finance option.
    • Minimum of two (2) years of practical experience in training, teaching, or industry-related roles.
    • CPA (K) qualifications will be a distinct advantage.
    • Valid TVETA Trainer License (registration with TVETA) and a pedagogy training certificate will be an added advantage.
