    Ultrasonographer, Ultrasound

    Reporting to the section in-charge, the incumbent will collaborate with Ultrasound section professional and other general staff in the department to perform procedures bason upon approved protocols and guidelines.

    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct effective ultrasound procedures within the approved policies and procedures
    • Ensure adequate and correct procedure information is given to patients beforehand
    • Ensure safety of patients and machines through adequate preparation of patients
    • Monitor the patients’ condition all through the procedure
    • Assess patients for risk of fall and implement safety measures
    • Document and report all the faults on the machines to recommended authorities
    • Oversee maintenance services and ensure that machines are handed over in a good working condition after the service
    • Implement all relevant quality standards in Ultrasound section and ensure compliance
    • Observe stipulated guidelines when handling infectious patients e.g., use of masks

    Requirements:

    • Higher Diploma in medical imaging sciences (Ultrasound)
    • Diploma in medical imaging sciences.
    • Registration with Radiation Protection Board of Kenya
    • Minimum of 1-year work experience in an ultrasound related position
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Good customer service skills

    Locum Laboratory Technologist, Clinical Chemistry

    Applications are invited from qualified candidates for the above position based in Nairobi Kenya. The position holder will be responsible for ensuring provision of effective, efficient, quality analytical laboratory services in the hospital. He/ She will report to the Hematology Section Head.

    Responsibilities:

    • Receive and analyse Haematology /special Haematology specimens.
    • Maintain appropriate internal controls in Hematology/special Hematology to ensure validity of reports.
    • Manage routine and planned preventive maintenance of equipment in Haematology.
    • Perform tests with maximum efficiency ensuring maximum utilization of reagents and time following laid down standard operating procedures.
    • Communicate urgent/critical/abnormal test results within recommended period of time and maintain appropriate documentation.
    • Observe/comply with Health & Safety requirements in the laboratory by maintaining high standards of hygiene and general cleanliness in the work area.
    • Receive specimens for Immunohematology and carry out appropriate testing observing internal quality checks to ensure validity of test results.
    • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures in Hematology and Immuno-hematology.

    Requirements:

    • Higher Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized institute or equivalent
    • Registered with Kenya Medical Laboratory Technician and Technologists Board
    • 3 years working experience.
    • Computer literate
    • Well versed in the required discipline
    • Team player
    • Attention to detail
    • Good communication skills
