JOB PURPOSE
- Reporting to the Head of Talent, the Talent, Learning & Development Officer will provide expertise and support in the design, development and implementation of the Global Talent, Learning and Developmentinitiatives; encompassing leadership development, learning and training programs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Global Talent, Learning and Development programmes implementation: Under guidance of the Head of Talent, support development and implementation of the global and regional Talent, L&D initiatives.
- Learning needs: Understand, assess and report Countries/Programmes/Units/Functionslearning needs and priorities, based on the organizational and people strategies.
- L&D solutions: Support in the identification, design and implementation of solutions and interventions to learning needs. Ensure consistent, effective design and implementation of training programs and materials aligned to the organizational mission and core values.
- Talent and learning data: Collect, analyse and maintain data gathered to inform targeted leadership development.
- Organizational needs and learning impact: Proactively provide input and continuousfeedback to the Head of Talent about: 1) Organizational needs and development priorities; 2) impact of the L&D withinthe countries by leveraging analytics.
- Resourcing and on-boarding: Support Talent Acquisition in the delivery of local induction and on- boarding programs.
- Budget: Provide support in preparation and consolidation of Talent, Learning and Development budgets for headquarters and countries.
- Development partnership: Apply coaching principles and concept in engaging and supporting stakeholders in the process of building and execution of the people development plans.
- Career development programs: Support execution of employee promotion and career-pathing initiatives. Assess mobility opportunities and facilitate the implementation of the staff mobility programme between Amref offices.
- Networking and sharing: Be part of the L&D community, actively collaborating with ideas on new solutions, external benchmarks and learning technologies.
- Performance management: Provide support and advice to staff and managers in the overall process,including organizing for sessions to ensure the process is well understood; Review the performance appraisal and advise the Head of Talent on performance-related issues.
- Succession planning: In liaison with the Head of Talent and line managers, build suggested career paths for staff; with related suggested learning and development activities to nurture the retention of our talents.
- Continuous improvement: Refine existing systems and processes, and set up new processes as required.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Education and Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Learning & Development or closely related field
- Recognized professional membership with IHRM or any other reputable organization
- Certification in Coaching is an added advantage
Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in HR, with two (2) to three (3) years focused on talent management, leadership development, and learning and development
- Experience in a fast-paced, complex and matrix organization
- Experience in the use of Learning Management Systems – requirements gathering, implementation and management

JOB PURPOSE
Amref Health Africa (Amref) is seeking 2 Technical Officers for Malaria Diagnostics, with one position based in Nairobi, Kenya, and the other in Kisumu, Kenya. These roles are part of the USAID-funded global project, PMI REACH Malaria, aimed at delivering malaria services to every at-risk community and household. PMI REACH Malaria aims to provide implementation support services and technical assistance to countries to accelerate progress in comprehensive delivery of facility and communitybased malaria services, including malaria case management, prevention of malaria in pregnancy (MiP), seasonal malaria chemoprevention (SMC), health systems strengthening, data collection and use for service delivery, and other malaria prevention interventions. The Technical Officer, Malaria Diagnostics, will report to the Amref Technical Advisor, Malaria Diagnostics, who will provide technical oversight and programme management for implementation of the scope of work for malaria diagnostics, as outlined in the PMI REACH Malaria Kenya Annual Workplan.
S/he will work in close collaboration with the PMI REACH Malaria Kenya project team, including other Technical Advisors and Technical Officers to contribute to continuity across programme implementation areas and service delivery, with an emphasis on malaria diagnostics, malaria case management, supportive supervision, quality improvement systems and training and orientation systems. The Technical Officer, Malaria Diagnostics, will also work closely with the Amref Regional Laboratory technical and programme staff to ensure comprehensive technical and programmatic support for the PMI REACH Malaria project. S/he will be responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of the project’s malaria diagnostics workplan activities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical assistance in the development and/or revision of national malaria diagnostic policies and guidelines, their dissemination and implementation.
- Provide support to the planning and implementation of national and subnational quality assurance mechanisms, including proficiency testing for malaria blood slides and rapid diagnostic tests (mRDT), slide rechecking and on-site technical support supervision.
- Provide technical support to developing and implementing in-service capacity building activities in laboratory diagnostics within the country, including refresher training and national and international competence assessments.
- Provide technical support to review of relevant pre-service training curricula and requirements for strengthening pre-service training in malaria diagnostics.
- Support in development and implementation of plans to address gaps and challenges identified during supervision, training activities and proficiency testing outcomes.
- Introduce and/or review laboratory diagnostic components in existing MOH supervisory tools to strengthen integrated systems for supervision.
- Ensure alignment of reported malaria diagnostic activities with MOH reporting and M&E frameworks.
- Maintain a database of diagnostic facilities, and trained diagnostics personnel and their key competencies.
- Actively liaise with the Division of Malaria Control Programme (DMCP) staff to ensure representation on relevant technical working groups, and to provide updates on project diagnostic activities.
- Present programme activities and results to the DMCP and other stakeholders as required.
- Assist the country project team in the preparation of technical reports, work planning, budgets and other documents, as required.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES
Education and Experience
- Minimum Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences or Higher Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences
- Must be registered and licensed by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board
- Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience providing technical assistance and in project management in malaria and/or other public health programmes.
- Experience in providing technical assistance, supervision, mentorship and capacity building in malaria diagnostics, including knowledge of laboratory quality management systems and quality assurance.
- Experience in managing and/or providing technical assistance to the Division of Malaria Control Programme and County Health Departments.
- Experience with health information systems including Kenya Health Information System (KHIS) and Quality Assurance Information System (QAIMS).
- Excellent understanding and management of USAID programmes Certification in the WHO External Competency Assessment of Malaria Microscopists (ECAMM) programme.

JOB PURPOSE
The Data Management & Reporting Intern will support the organization’s data processes, ensuring all required data is available for analytics and reporting. The role also involves maintaining data quality assurance (DQA) processes, supporting data visualization needs, and contributing to the improvement of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) systems.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
MEL Data Processes in AIMS & Qlik [50%]
- Support the process of fetching, sorting, ordering, and organizing data as required for both regular and ad hoc reports.
- Participate in discussions with users to gather data visualization requirements, ensuring clear communication and tracking of specific assignments.
- Monitor progress until visualization tasks are completed and thoroughly tested for accuracy and usability.

Data Quality Assurance (DQA) Processes [50%]
- Conduct and execute DQA validation checks inbuilt in AIMS and Qlik systems, ensuring that data is accurate and reliable for reporting.
- Update the DQA issue log biweekly, providing key insights and follow-up actions for Corporate MEL focal points.
- Track DQA performance regularly through Qlik, identifying country-specific design and monitoring gaps.
- Present these gaps in MEL meetings to ensure timely action and program improvement.
- Support the documentation of areas for improvement within DQA workflows and visualizations to enhance user experience and streamline processes.• Actively participate in Routine Data Quality Audits (RDQA) in collaboration with various implementing offices, supporting data validation and the integrity of monitoring processes.
