    Senior Medical Specialist – Radiologist,

    Requirements for appointment

    • Be a Kenyan citizen;
    • Be a holder of a Degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B., & ChB.) from an institution recognized in Kenya;
    • Must have completed a Master’s Degree in Imaging and Radiology from an institution recognized in Kenya;
    • Registered as a Medical/Specialist Practitioner by Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council;
    • Have a Valid Practicing License;
    • Be of acceptable moral and professional standing;
    • Willing to undertake duties in person in any part of Tharaka Nithi
    • Certificate in computer application skills from an institution recognized in Kenya.

    Duties and responsibilities

    The Radiologist shall be responsible to the employer and the supervisor for the following:

    • Apply the principles and procedures of modern medicine in Imaging and Radiologic Diagnostics;
    • Provide Medical Imaging reports to other Medical Personnel;
    • Head Radiology Medicine Department in the County;
    • Advise the County on Imaging and Radiological Diagnosis and Management from time to time;
    • Conduct medical education and research activities in clinical area of work;
    • Participate in the development of procedures for the department;
    • Make decisions regarding work processes based on established guidelines;
    • Prioritize and organize work to meet changing conditions and any other roles and responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time;
    • Any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisor.

    Medical Specialist [1] – Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT) Surgeon

    Requirements for appointment

    • Be a Kenyan citizen;
    • Be a holder of a Degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB;Ch.B.) from a University recognized in Kenya;
    • Must have completed a Master’s Degree in Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery (ENT) from a University recognized in Kenya;
    • Registered as a Medical Specialist Practitioner by Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council;
    • Have a Valid Practicing License;
    • Be of acceptable moral and professional standing.

    Duties and responsibilities

    The ENT Surgeon will be responsible to the employer and the supervisor for the following:

    • Performs professional duties in surgery Otorhinolaryngology including various ENT/ Head and Neck;
    • Provides consultation to other physicians when the problems fall into the field of ear, nose, throat, head and neck surgery, and require the attention of a specialist.
    • Diagnosis and treatment of patient’s primary problems in this area;
    • Complete medical records promptly indicating diagnosis, treatment, and future courses of Records must conform to established requirements;
    • Participates in all group conferences requiring the viewpoint and opinions of this specialty regarding difficult medical conditions;
    • Collaborates with other departmental personnel in planning programs integrating the curative and preventive aspects of total patient care; Is responsible for the operation of approved curative-preventive programs as they relative to his particular area of specialization.
    • Monitor work of other assigned staff to the Otorhinolaryngology Service for quality, quantity, correctness, etc., demonstrating procedures or recommending additional training as need arises.
    • Maintain confidentiality regarding patient information and regarding administrative matters of a confidential nature
    • Any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisor.

    Medical Specialist [1] – Obstetrician/ Gynaecologist

    Requirements for appointment

    • Be a Kenyan citizen;
    • Be a holder of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B., & ChB.) Degree from a University recognized in Kenya;
    • Must have completed a Master’s Degree in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from a recognized institution in Kenya;
    • Registered as a Medical/Specialist Practitioner by Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board;
    • Have a Valid Practicing License;
    • Be of acceptable moral and professional standing;
    • Willing to undertake duties in person in any part of Tharaka Nithi
    • County as they will be assigned from time to time;

    Duties and responsibilities

    • The Obstetrician/ Gynaecologist will be responsible to the employer and the supervisor for the following:
    • Provide facility Leadership and Management for the County Hospitals
    • Develop and plan projects and activities geared towards provision of quality Obstetric and Gynecological care and ensure their implementation.
    • Maintain confidentiality of patient information and management.
    • Provide guidance on best practices for the facilities.
    • Provide OB-GYN consultation for women of all ages requiring specialized care from County Hospitals.
    • Lead Sexual Reproductive Health projects within the organization including cervical cancer management, teenage Sexual Reproductive
    • Health management and Maternal, Newborn and child health services.
    • Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures and manuals are up to date and are adhered to.
    • Provide timely monthly and quarterly reports to the County Health Management.
    • Monitor program performance and inform areas of learning for continuous quality improvement.
    • Develop and monitor facility budgets and revenues and provide quarterly financial reports.
    • Organize Continuous Medical Education sessions for Medics in all the Centers.
    • Available at any time in case of emergencies.
    • Any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisor.

    Method of Application

    • Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)

    For those with higher education certificates (degrees) from outside Kenya, a letter of recognition of qualifications from the Commission of University Education.
