    Locum Radio Sonographer

    Job Purpose/Objectives:

    Under direct supervision of Medical Officer in charge the Radio Sonographer will be responsible for production of high-quality diagnostic Images that will help in diagnosing various patients’ conditions and aid in timely treatments/interventions. He/She will supervise, direct and capacity build all Radiology incentive staff.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform a range of radiographic/sonographic examinations as requested according to the requirements of the referring Physician, provide diagnostic radiographs, performs ultrasound and Doppler examinations by capturing images of diagnostic value.
    • To be able to communicate critical results to referring doctors.
    • Presenting the sonograms and preliminary findings to the Clinicians.
    • Receiving of patients for various Radiological procedures and exercising a high degree of patient care by explaining the procedure to patients and answering any questions they may have.
    • Maintaining the ultrasound and X ray equipment and maintaining the room in which the procedure takes place.
    • Monitoring and caring for patients to ensure their safety and comfort during the procedures.
    • Ensuring clear images for diagnostic purposes and making adjustments to the sonographic equipment when necessary.
    • Assessing patients and interpreting clinical requirements to determine appropriate radiographic technique.
    • Enabling high quality patient experience including quality of care and efficient turnaround time.
    • Train Healthcare workers on Point of Care Ultrasounds (POCUS).
    • Producing images of high diagnostic quality.
    • Be able to advise patients/clients accordingly.
    • Ensure radiation protections measures are adhered to.
    • Participate in hospital meetings and trainings.
    • Formulate departmental S.O. Ps and other relevant regulations and directions and ensure they are adhered to.
    • Monitor and supervise radiological supplies ensuring proper usage.
    • Supervise radiology incentive staffs and assistants.
    • Attend and participate in hospital weekly medical continuous educations.
    • Additional duties as assigned.

    • Capacity building of Health care workers on POCUS.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Higher Diploma/ Diploma in Medical Imaging sciences.
    • Valid practicing License by KENRA.
    • 3 years of working experience.

    Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning Assistant

    Scope of Work:

    Under the supervision of the M&E Officer, the M&E Assistant will be supporting in data collection, summarizing, compiling and dissemination, storing and timely reporting of all forms in Health, Nutrition, WPE and RH/HIV programs. Key responsibilities will be implementing Health Management Information system at the program level to support data capture and reporting. Ensure data quality is maintained, all the data is always available. Conduct data entry of facility reports into IRHIS, KHIS and LMIS, building the capacity among information systems users at the facility level and administration level within the IRC programs. He/she shall coordinate with program teams in sharing monitoring and evaluation information and support in preparation and dissemination of program lessons and reports.

    Specific Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Support in implementation of the MEAL systems in Hagadera.
    • Coding and indexing of diagnosis of inpatient files/emergency files as per MOH requirement.
    • Reviewing facility data/ reports and uploading it to DHIS and LMIS.
    • Take lead in quarterly data review meetings at facility level, sector level and camp level.
    • Support in conducting routine data quality audit and assessments.
    • Compile weekly surveillance disease trends and weekly activities reports and share with the relevant health teams.
    • Share ad-hoc reports as the need arises by the program teams.
    • Verification of data updated on whiteboards across the facilities.
    • Supporting program staff with provision of data collection tools development, deployment, and supervision of use.
    • Supervision of filing and general data management at the facilities.
    • Supervising Monitoring and Evaluation incentives staff.
    • Conducting community feedback sessions.
    • Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • B.Sc in Health Records & Information Management, Monitoring and Evaluation or any other related field.
    • Diploma in Health Information management, Monitoring and Evaluation or equivalent with at least 3 years of field experience.
    • Computer literacy with possible advanced Ms Word, Ms Excel, Ms PowerPoint and Ms access.
    • Knowledge in computer statistical packages (EPI INFO, SPSS, and Stata).

    Required Experience & Competencies:

    • Experience working in facility health records.
    • Must be conversant with real-time reporting tools and systems, data analysis and visualization and Ministry of Health M&E tools and system.
    • Strong data interpretation skills, report writing and presentation skills.
    • Demonstrated experience in capacity building and mentoring of staff.
    • Knowledge, skills, and experience in participatory methods as well as quantitative and qualitative methods for data collection
    • Experience in use of data to inform decision-making, planning, and performance monitoring.
    • Strong communication, management, oral, written and presentation skills.
    • Ability to interact strategically with numerous counterparts, including donors, Ministry of Health officials, local partners, and other NGOs.
    • Ready to work in difficult environmental conditions.
    • Must be flexible and culturally sensitive.
    • Knowledge in client feedback mechanisms.
