    Head of Finance – General Business

    Main Purpose of the Job- (Job Summary)

    Leading in the implementation of the finance and branch accounts department strategy, policies, processes and procedures to support the achievement of the overall financial objectives of the company.

    Main Responsibilities 

    • Coordinating and reporting of the company and finance department performance to the financial controller and  management on quarterly basis
    • Collating /preparation and analysis of revenue and management reports
    • Authorizing of company claims and management expenses cheques as the finance representative
    • Collating of final accounts of the company- consolidating and analyses for management
    • Analsing and verification of yearly and monthly levy reports prepared by the finance dept. staff going to statutory regulators
    • Mentoring and training company finance dept.staff.
    • Coordinating with other departments in ensuring consistence in reports prepared by them
    • Monitoring and coordinating staff towards achieving departmental objectives.
    • Preparation and analysis of financial and management reports
    • Any other duties given by the financial controller. Preparing, monitoring and reporting of the finance budgetary allocations 
    • Talent management including coaching, mentoring, developing, motivating, training and evaluating staff in the finance dept.  to achieve highest levels of performance
    • Leading and managing the finance department related company communication
    • Ensuring customer service to both internal and external client by providing required financial/management reports.
    • Managing and Implementing change initiatives to achieve desired business plans and culture

    Job Specifications

    Relevant Experience

    • At least 5 years of relevant experience

    Academic Qualifications

    • Masters Degree in Finance
    • Undergraduate Degree in Finance

    Professional Qualifications

    • CPA (K) 
    • ACCA

    Finance Assistant Reconciliations

    Main Purpose of the Job- (Job Summary)

    Reconciliation of bank statements, petty cash management, Branch and Head Office ledger reconciliations in line with the departmental objectives

    Main Responsibilities 

    • Reconciling of cashbook and bank statements on a monthly basis.
    • Passing of branch journal vouchers and following up of reconciling items
    • Maintaining of Head Office petty cash
    • Monitoring and reviewing of all branches petty cash and verification of their expenditure.
    • Preparing of all Branch and Head Office reconciliations.
    • Passing of journal entries for Branches and Head Office after reconciliations
    • Receiving, viewing and filing of all weekly and daily returns in the Branches.
    • Coordinating with Branch Accountants and Branch Managers in relation to unpaid cheques and Mpesa paybill statement on a daily basis.
    • Preparations of weekly turn around times (TAT) for Head Office disbursement accounts, Legal and Branch accounts disbursement on a weekly basis.
    • Any other duties assigned

    • Undergraduate degree in Finance

    • Certified Public Accountant (Kenya)
