    Clinical Instructor (1 position)

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Preparing Skills lab practical manuals in liaison with Lecturers
    • Clinical instruction SOPs, practical manuals development and review
    • Conducting Clinical Instructions both in Wards and Skills lab
    • Developing, implementing, enforcing, reviewing hospital safety measures and guidelines.
    • Provide mentoring and coaching to students both during and outside the formal evaluation and instruction arenas.
    • Participate in making master rotations for different hospitals
    • Advising the School and the University on Clinical instruction services
    • Develop, maintain and implement equipment, maintenance, calibration schedule and to always ensure Skills lab equipment & Manikins are in good working conditions
    • Acting as a goodwill ambassador of the SHS and the University
    • Participate in community outreach programs.
    • Clinical supervision – coordinating student rotations or site visits and helping students understand their duties in different clinical settings.

    Requirements;

    • Have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent qualification.
    • Have at least three years’ experience.
    • Must be registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya.

    • A Master’s degree in the relevant field from accredited and recognized university (in special cases) with at least three (3) years teaching experience at university level or in research or industry; and 
    • A minimum of twenty-four (24) publication points, of which at least sixteen (16) should be from refereed journal papers; and
    • Registered with the relevant professional body (where applicable).
