    Microbiologist

    Key responsibilities:

    1. Conduct testing including Sterility tests; Bioburden tests; Efficacy tests; Bacterial Endotoxin tests; Identification of Microorganisms and Sensitivity tests.
    2. Develop, write and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions for the laboratory.
    3. Manage samples including receiving; registration; storage and disposal according to approved laboratory procedures.
    4. Manage laboratory equipment including operation, cleaning, calibration and maintenance.
    5. Manage storage of reference microorganisms to ensure they remain viable for analysis.
    6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
    7. Maintain general cleanliness of the laboratory following good housekeeping practices.
    8. Maintain inventory of laboratory consumables including PPEs, reagents, media, equipment spare parts and glassware for accountability.
    9. Participate in self-inspections for continuous improvement.
    10. Ensure compliance to safety and regulatory requirements while working under Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).

    Job requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology or any other related course
    • At least 5 years’ hands-on experience in a Microbiology testing laboratory
    • Experience in food-borne pathogen testing or microbiology testing in the food and beverage industry is an added advantage
    • Experience working in an ISO 17025:2017 accredited laboratory is desirable

    Microbiology Assistant

    Key responsibilities:

    General cleanliness

    1. Maintain general cleanliness of laboratory, laboratory apparatus and equipment for safe and reliable results
    2. Manage laundry of laboratory coats and attire

    Sample Management

    1. Maintain and update Laboratory registers for samples and reference material
    2. Maintain inventory of laboratory reagents/chemicals and apparatus for accountability
    3. Prepare culture and media for analysis of samples and ensure safe disposal afterwards.
    4. Receive samples from clients; assess availability of all the requirements of analysis before logging into the register
    5. Manage storage areas within the laboratory to ensure accessibility and traceability of samples.
    6. Prepare samples for disposal and required documentation

    Records

    1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
    2. Filing, retrieval and archiving of Laboratory related documents for easy access

    Job requirements:

    1. Diploma in Microbiology, Biotechnology or any other related course
    2. At least 3 years’ hands-on experience in a Microbiology testing laboratory
    3. Experience working in an ISO 17025:2017 accredited laboratory is desirable
