    Clinical Officer (Parklands Law Campus)

    Qualification
    Education, Skills and Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Medicine or related area of specialization from a recognized Institution.
    • Must be registered as Clinical Officer with Clinical Officers Council.
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience at a comparable position.
    • Must be Computer Literate.

    Key responsibilities also include

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • To examine, diagnose and treat patients’ common ailments at the University health facility.
    • To guide and counsel patients, clients and staff on Health issues.
    • To sensitize patients and clients on preventive health.
    • To carry out minor surgical procedures as per training skill.
    • To collect and compile clinical data.
    • To filter and refer patients and clients to appropriate health facilities.
    • Supervises/oversees junior health workers.

    Nurse - Re-Advertisement

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in in Nursing from an accredited institution.
    • Must be registered as a Nurse with the Nursing Council.
    • 3 years’ experience at Grade 8 within MKU or at a similar position in a recognized academic institution.
    •   Higher Diploma in Nursing from an accredited institution.
    •  Must be registered as a Nurse with the Nursing Council.
    •  5 years’ experience as a Nurse Assistant or at a similar position in a recognized institution.

    Key responsibilities

    • Provision of Nursing care and counselling
    • Observe patients’ vital signs, review and maintain patients records and reports from assistant nurse and where appropriate escalate matters to the chief clinical officer for action.
    • Ensure care and patients assisted in movement within the health centre.
    • Assist doctors while carrying out procedures e.g. taking blood samples, fixing drips, giving medication
    • Carry out simple procedures like bed bathing, dressing simple wounds while referring difficult procedures to the Chief Clinical Officer.
    • Ensure proper maintenance of patient records.
    • Plan, supervise and co-ordinate nursing care
    • Ensure availability of medical supplies and keep inventory of medical supplies
    • Ensure cleanliness of patients and the environment.
    • Any other duties that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Assess the ICT Requirements of Departments in liaison with the other ICT staff to meet the needs of these Departments;

    • Develop and maintain suitable tools for the preparation of statistics and reports as may be required from time to time by the University;

    • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Management or Marketing.
