    Safaricom Internship Program

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Safaricom is looking for potential young talent to join our team though the annual internship program for the year 2024/25 in the Commercial, Business Development & Technology Functions.

    About The Internship Program

    The program will be categorized into two,

    • 3 months Industrial attachment for ongoing students. 
    • 6 months Internship for students who have completed school & awaiting graduation or having graduated within the last 12 months. The 6 months program will have 2 intakes - April & October 2024. 

    Call for applications will only happen once in the financial year allowing you to plan which intake you are available for. 

    The Program gives you the opportunity to gain first-hand experience working on real-world problems, hone your skills, create lasting relationships, gain insights, and discover your strengths. Throughout the program, you'll acquire the skills for immediate success, as well as understand what's required for the future as our industry and your career evolve. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Eligibility Criteria

    We are looking for University students or recent graduates who meet the criteria indicated below:

    • You must be in your final or second last year of your degree program or having graduated with the last 12 months in an accredited institution of higher learning.
    • You must be on break from school during the internship period for any of the intakes within the year. For ongoing students, priority will be given to students with industrial attachment as a requirement to completion of the degree program. 
    • Must be available for the full period of the internship program (Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm)
    • You can only select 1 intake in the year for which you will be available for the internship.
    • The internship is for a fixed period of 3 or 6 months without extension.

    Integrated Credit Solutions Specialist

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Reporting to the Credit Tribe Lead, the Integrated Credit Solutions Specialist will be responsible for leading the development of Integrated Credit propositions, identifying potential Integrated solutions and services, conducting market research; generating product requirements; determining specifications, pricing, and go to market planning for assigned integrated credit solutions and services. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Core competencies, knowledge and experience

    Insights, Research and Analysis

    • Determine customers' needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain market information.
    • Articulate market requirements, Integrated trends and opportunities. 
    • Identify opportunities for product innovation and enhancements.
    • Assess and benchmark to competition, and drive market leadership through best-in-class Integrated credit solutions and customer experience.

    Product Planning and Management

    • Recommend the nature and scope of present and future Integrated credit solutions by reviewing product specifications and requirements, appraising new product ideas and/or product changes.
    • Bring new Integrated credit solutions to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs.
    • Define the long-term strategy of Integrated credit solutions and create and manage product road map.
    • Prepare market requirement documents and product use cases to drive product activity.
    • Work with commercial team to develop pricing strategies and product policies.
    • Provide technical & thought leadership throughout various stages of product lifecycle – planning, design, specification, implementation and launch.
    • Create user cases and detailed Integrated credit product roadmap documents to articulate desired features and functionalities to the Integrated Credit Squads
    • Build relationships with, onboard and manage partnerships required for the execution of the Integrated credit solutions.

    Customer and End-User Support

    • Manage Integrated credit product-related support, feedback, and inquiries from users.
    • Co-ordinate market research to track customer and end-user feedback.
    • Use market feedback to inform Integrated credit product refinements and ongoing development.
    • Build awareness and understanding of the solutions across the company – be Integrated credit evangelist.’

    Post Launch governance 

    • Track and analyze metrics compared to industry benchmarks, publish reports on product performance, trends, and risks/opportunities for both short and long term.
    • Support teams that track and manage business case metrics and financial planning models ensuring that product delivery stays on track and on budget.
    • Monitor impact of product features on key metrics

    • Adherence to set Credit Tribe business OKRs and commitments.
    • Successful roll out of new Integrated credit solutions and services in time, and most efficient manner
    • Driving achievement of Mission budget for solutions in Integrated Credit
    • Optimization of existing Integrated credit solutions and services.
    • Delivery schedule of all Integrated credit solutions based on their priority.
    • Growth and retention of set Integrated credit solutions. 
    • Provide guidelines and process for the implementation of reward and recognition activities. 
    • Delivery of relevant target digitization projects/Initiatives. 
    • Compliance with all relevant regulations and internal policies and procedures. KPIs could include regulatory compliance metrics, audit results, and risk management metrics.
    • Agile Maturity rating, Employee Engagement (eNPS) and Productivity.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • At least six (6) years’ knowledge and experience in a relevant field with at least three (3) in digital product management and product development. 
    •  Strong partnerships within the Fintech ecosystem.
    • Experience in Integrated Credit propositions within financial services.
    • Relevant Business or IT Undergraduate Degree or relevant field along with professional qualifications, or equivalent qualification(s) from a recognized institution of higher learning. 
    • MBA or relevant Master’s degree is an added advantage. 
    • Superior business understanding, with the ability to leverage technology to solve consumer, business and technical issues.
    • Strong stakeholder and strategic partners acquisition skills.
    • Possess high professional and ethical standards. 
    • Be a strategic thinker with an analytical mind.

    Senior Manager Governance, Risk and Compliance

    We are pleased to announce the following vacancy for Senior Manager governance, risk and compliance in the Cyber Security Department within Corporate security Division. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below.

    The Senior Manager Governance, Risk and Compliance will assist the company improve and demonstrated cyber security maturity. You will collaborate with process owners, internal auditors, external auditors, and other stakeholders in order to assist in reviewing, monitoring, and resolving findings. This includes helping the team manage industry standards and regulations. You will assist with identifying opportunities to enhance security by design, developing a profound understanding of our business contexts to influence the company and security operations, and creating, updating, and integrating security policies and procedures. You will also lead the charge in ensuring the restricted environment team’s readiness for external audits, refining the cybersecurity program, and conducting systemic risk assessments.

    As a Cybersecurity Risk and Compliance Senior Manager, you will take a lead role in creating a cyber aware community and developing a culture where colleagues understand the integral connection between our firm's values and information security, making your role instrumental in safeguarding our organization's assets and reputation. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Be part of the definition, development and implementation of Information Security, risk analysis, business continuity and data protection projects
    • Assess the effectiveness of security controls for a system and its operating environment
    • Attend meetings and workshops as required to provide security advice and guidance to stakeholders and customers
    • Support both internal and external audits
    • Assists with the evaluation of the effectiveness of the information security program by developing, monitoring, gathering, and analyzing
    • information security and compliance metrics for management.
    • Demonstrate compliance through regular user access reviews and attestation.

    • Help company successfully achieve various required compliances
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of procedures and methods that serve to broaden team knowledge and industry expertise
    • Researches, recommends, and contributes to information security polices, standards, and procedures. 
    • management of information security policies and supporting documents. Assist the department in responding to inquiries from the business units about ongoing operational compliance

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science/Information Technology
    • Hands-on Ethical hacking Competencies. Possession of at least one ethical hacking certification will be an added advantage [CEH/CISSP/CISM/CISA/OSCP]
    • 5+ years of direct experience in information security, with a main emphasis on risk, audit, and compliance
    • 3+ years of expertise conducting ISO 27001 and SOC 2 audits, as well as handling audit responses
    • Thorough understanding of market structures, including relevant regulatory compliance requirements (ISO27001, SOC 2 , NIST, CMMC, PCI, GDPR, etc.)
