    Primary Teacher I - 2 Posts

    Required Qualifications and Experience

    • Have a minimum of a Diploma in Education with a minimum of C+ at KCSE (or its equivalent) with C+ in two teaching subjects.  A Bachelor’s degree in education will be an added advantage
    • Diploma Teachers Applicants must have:
    • A mean grade of C+ (plus) at KCSE or its equivalent and with at least C+ (or Credit Pass) in the two teaching subjects
    • In addition, they must have a Diploma in Education from a recognized Teacher Training Institution. Diploma Teachers who graduated in 2008 or before with a mean grade of C (plain) and C (plain) in the two teaching subjects qualify for consideration.
    • Have an active registration as a teacher with the Teachers Service Commission.
    • Commitment to student-centered learning and the CBC curriculum. Any training on CBC curriculum will be an added advantage
    • Be an Adventist in good regular standing. N/B: Get recommendation from your local church pastor
    • Be a Kenyan citizen.
    • Any prior teaching experience will be an added advantage.
    • Bring with you the Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Serve as a role model of good Christian values and maintain learner discipline to create a conducive environment for learning.
    • Prepare lesson plans, lesson notes, timetables, schemes of work and maintain academic standards in the school to ensure that the syllabus is covered in time for evaluation.
    • Teach the subjects of specialization and impart knowledge, skills and attitude to learner.
    • Evaluate the learners in subjects of specialization and prepare learners for national and other examinations.
    • Introduce new ideas and programs for improvement in teaching and learning in subjects of specialization.
    • Ensure safety and health of learners.
    • Ensure cleanliness of the school compound and tidiness of learners.
    • Ensure consistency and improvement in curriculum delivery through teamwork and collaborative planning.
    • Engage with other teachers and school administratorsto enhance CBC implementation.
    • Provide guidance and counseling services to learners to instill norms and values for harmonious co-existence.
    • Participate in workshops, seminars, symposiums to share ideas and enhance knowledge in subject areas.
    • Engage learners in curricular and co-curricular activities so as to identify, nurture and develop talents.
    • Facilitate extracurricular activitiesand link learning to real-life experiences.
    • Adapt to new technologies and teaching strategiesfor competency-based learning.
    • Stay updated with curriculum changes and policy guidelinesfrom the Ministry of Education.
    • Encourage practical applicationof learning through hands-on activities.
    • Use formative and summative assessmentsto track learner progress.
    • Employ continuous assessment tools (CATs)such as portfolios, projects, and observations.
    • Support the development of values, life skills, and emotional intelligence.
    • Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving.
    • Create a conducive learning environmentthat fosters exploration and creativity.
    • Utilize learning materials, digital tools, and local resources
    • Ensure inclusivityfor learners with special needs and different abilities, organizing remedial actions for learners with performance gaps.
    • Perform any other duty as may be assigned.

    Tutorial Fellow in Clinical Medicine - 5 Posts

    Required Minimum Qualifications and Experience

    • Master of Science in Clinical Medicine degree from an accredited university.
    • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Medicine or related field such as Medicine with at least a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0/4.0 or Second-Class Upper Division from an accredited/recognized university.
    • Must have attained at least a C+ in KCSE or its equivalent qualification.
    • Must have a valid practice license from Clinical Officers Council (COC) of Kenya.
    • Membership in professional bodies relevant to Clinical Medicine or healthcare education will be an added advantage.
    • At least three years of teaching/research experience at the university level as a Tutorial/Research Fellow.
    • Proof of registration for a PhD degree in the relevant field/area of study will be an added advantage.
    • An applicant with clinical experience in a healthcare setting, possibly with hands-on patient care will have an added advantage.
    • Proficient in the use of computers especially SPSS or other statistical software, School Management System, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Access, E-Learning and Internet.
    • Proficiency in modern teaching methods, including the use of technology and simulation tools in clinical education.
    • A Christian in good and regular standing.
    • Must be willing to uphold the values of the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton.
    • Must have certified copies of academic certificates and academic transcripts.
    • Must bring Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI)

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • To teach undergraduate and diploma courses within the department and in other programs which may have relevant course requests.
    • Developing teaching materials for blended learning.
    • Promoting the mission of the department and the University.
    • Participate in the preparation of departmental plans and documents.
    • Provide professional and practical training to the students.
    • Organize and supervise educational activities, including clinical placement and trips for students.
    • Attend and participate in seminars, workshops and conferences in the relevant and other fields.
    • Participate in planning, development, implementation and evaluation of curricular in the department.
    • Participate in the department meetings and other departmental/school activities.
    • Be an Academic Advisor to students by providing mentorship and career guidance, while maintaining high ethical values.
    • Set, process, moderate, administer and mark examinations and other assignments and submit semester grades as stipulated by the university.
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or delegated by the University administration.
