    Debt Recovery Manager

    JOB PURPOSE:

    Reporting to the Senior Recoveries Manager, the job holder will be responsible for driving collection and rehabilitation of delinquent/non-performing loans portfolio and restructuring of debts to ensure optimal settlement of the same.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for restructuring of debts to ensure optimal schedules are adopted in the best interest of the Bank.
    • Managing the allocated portfolio of clients in arrears above 60 days by;
      • Contacting debtors by phone, correspondence and personal contact to determine willingness and ability to pay
      • Explaining legal requirements and obligations
      • Obtaining payments
      • Establish payment schedules and renegotiating payment schedules
      • Making restructure recommendations
      • Following up clients’ promises to pay
      • Making recommendations on disposal of collateral
    • Liaising with and monitoring of third party actions.
    • Attending Regularization of Anomalies Committee (PQM) weekly meeting.
    • Make recommendations on clients to be handled by third parties and those that should be written off and follow up action.
    • Oversight of securities documents to ensure proper management in line with loan obligations and settlement of the same.

    Finance Officer (Banking)

    Job Purpose:

    The role holder will be responsible for accurate and timely preparation of Financial Reports for Management, Statutory Authority (CBK) and Group/Other Stakeholders.

    Key Responsibilities;

    • Daily, monthly, quarterly and annual CBK reporting
    • Monthly CBK Credit reporting
    • Quarterly DFIs reporting
    • Participate in quarterly & annual financial publication as well as Financial analysis
    • Conduct daily movement checks
    • Participate in cost control
    • Review cost expensing and other assets & other liabilities
    • Regular budget variance analysis
    • Participate in annual budget making
    • Capital management
    • Monthly Treasury committee and Retail business meeting reporting
    • Participate in monthly ALCO reporting
    • Participate in Board reporting
    • CBK application for new branches
    • Creation of new GLs.
    • Opening of new internal accounts.
    • Monitoring of internal accounts postings

    Experience and Competencies;

    • At least four year’s relevant experience in a busy working environment.
    • Experience in an Audit firm is mandatory.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field.
    • Professional qualifications in accounting-CPA (K) or ACCA
    • Masters degree in a related field is an added advantage.
    • Good analytical and organization skills
    • Proficiency in productivity tools especially Microsoft excel
    • High integrity and good conduct
    • Attention to details
    • Must be willing to take initiative
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills
    • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines

    Senior Legal Officer (Banking)

    Job Purpose: 

    Ensure that the legal risk that the Bank is exposed to is minimized to the extent possible and that the Bank procures quality yet cost effective legal services. Assist the Company Secretary in ensuring that the standards of corporate governance are adhered to.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Receive and act on requests by other departments to draft or review contracts and/or leases;
    • Provide legal guidance/advice to the Bank on various legal issues affecting staff members within various departments of the Bank-as relates to their various roles and functions;
    • Manage the lawyers contracted by the Bank, to ensure that they render efficient and effective services to the Bank; and
    • Assist the Company Secretary in preparation for Board and Shareholders Meetings.
    • Provide day to day oversight of the Legal Officer.
    • Ensure that the Bank has contracts in place clearly setting out the rights and obligations of both the Bank and the service providers; and
    • Ensure that all litigation matters are expeditiously handled
    • As a member of various Committees, ensure that appropriate legal advice is given to the Committee safeguard the Bank’s interests.

     Minimum Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience required for this Role

    • Degree in Law ;
    • Diploma from the Kenya School of Law;
    • Registered Member of the Law Society of Kenya duly authorized to render legal services to the Bank annually (that is, must be an “active” member of the Law Society of Kenya).
    • Registered Member (Company Secretary) of the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya and duly authorized to render secretarial services to the Bank annually;
    • At least five year’s post admission experience as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya preferably in Banking, or in a busy commercial law firm.
    • At least one/two years’ company secretarial experience (whether as an in-house company secretary or as an external company secretary) would be desirable.

    Assistant Manager - Risk (Banking)

    Job Purpose:

    Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Risk, the jobholder is responsible for developing, maintaining, managing and executing a comprehensive process for identifying, assessing, mitigating, monitoring and reporting on risks that may impact on organisational performance.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop, implement and maintain an ERM framework and supporting policies and procedures including risk tolerance levels and appetite.
    • Develop and implement a strategic and annual ERM plan including the risk profile in line with the relevant frameworks and guidelines.
    • Develop and implement risk assessment methodologies, models and systems.
    • Assess and maintain the risk maturity profile of the organization.
    • Facilitate the identification of risks at the strategic and operational levels utilizing appropriate tools and techniques.
    • Facilitate the development of risk response strategies (mitigation plans).
    • Report all relevant ERM matters including; findings, risk positions and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
    • Establish and maintain a risk management philosophy and culture within the organization.

    Minimum Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience required for this role

    • Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting or Finance or a Business related degree
    • Relevant Professional Qualification
    • At least 3 years relevant experience in a banking environment.
    • Applicable legislative and regulatory framework
    • Credit/market and operations risk management
    • Principles and practices of ERM
    • Internal control and assurance
    • Data analysis skills.
    • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities;
    • Analytical skills and a good eye for detail;
