    Centre Secretary, East Africa Overseas Centre

     

    Job description

    Based in Nairobi, Kenya, the Centre Secretary will be a part of the team at International Enterprise (IE) Singapore’s East Africa Overseas Centre in Nairobi. The Centre Secretary will work with the Centre/Regional Director, to support the Centre’s administration, accounts, HR and logistics work in accordance to IE Singapore’s daily operations.

    Responsibilities:

    • Support the Centre/Regional Director, and the efforts of Singapore companies to enter the markets
    • Manage the daily administration of the Centre, including, but not limited to, accounting/book-keeping, budgeting, monitoring of expense utilisation, rental/deposit and tax payments, renewal payments of licences/bank accounts similar
    • Oversee the maintenance of the office and its inventories and assets;

     

    • Assist in sourcing for, and acquire, information and intelligence strategic to the interests of IE Singapore and Singapore companies; and
    • Support the Centre/Regional Director in any other duties, as assigned

    Business Development Manager, East Africa Overseas Centre

     

    Job description

    We are looking for a Business Development Manager (BDM) to be part of the team at International Enterprise Singapore’s East Africa Overseas Centre in Nairobi. Based in Nairobi, Kenya and reporting to the Centre Director, the BDM will be given the responsibility to provide in-market facilitation and intelligence to Singapore-based companies expanding their businesses or seeking to establish a presence in Eastern Africa.

     

    Responsibilities

     

    Your key roles will be to:

     i.  Provide in-market expertise to help Singapore companies expand their businesses in Eastern Africa;

     

    ii.  Navigate the local regulatory environment and develop opportunities across different sectors;

    ii.  Monitor the business environment and provide up-to-date market intelligence to Singapore-based companies to help advance their businesses in Eastern Africa;

     

    iv. Establish, maintain and cultivate strategic contacts and partnerships with public and private sector players to generate leads for business matching.

     

     

    Your role will also include report writing, research and analysis to identify project and investment opportunities as well as key growth trends in order to develop a strong pipeline of projects.

     

     

    Desired Skills and Experience

     

    You should have a recognised degree, preferably with at least two years of experience in business development, consulting or market research. You should be proficient in the MS Office software, especially Word, Excel and Power point. You should be resourceful, able to multi-task, willing to go for meetings independently and travelling to neighbouring East African countries (if need arises). A confident presenter with strong writtenand oral communication and interpersonal skills, you should have a strong command of English.

     

    Shortlisted candidates will be asked to undergo a written test prior to selection for a formal interview.
