Duties and responsibilities

• Preparing weekly clinic reports
• Data cleaning
• Data entry

• Support study nurses with data collection activities

Location: Kisumu

Summary:  Conduct on-site sampling, sample preparation, and sample testing. Perform timely accurate laboratory tests. Safely executes the lab duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

• Perform sampling/preparation/analysis of samples.
• Receive orders, obtains information, and gathers paperwork from Lab Supervisor(s) and/or Lab Manager(s) to perform required testing. Operate laboratory equipment and instruments in accordance with methods and manufacturers instructions.
• Ensure that all equipment is in good operating condition – calibrated, standardized, correct and clean. This includes all safety and test equipment and instrumentation appropriate to the job.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments, and prepares chemical solutions according to standard procedures.
• Report to job-site punctually and observes all Inspectorate applicable federal and state regulations and standards, and customer requirements, including applicable safety and measurement/test standards.
• Behave ethically at all times.
• Communicate any problems, discrepancies, or other noteworthy incidents to the supervisor without delay.
• Promptly performs analysis in accordance with accepted industry and company procedures, completes all required paperwork and distributes copies appropriately.
• Attend study meetings as required.

Location: Kenyatta National Hospital

Essential Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities

• Providing procedures and policy guidance and interpretation for project staff to ensure adherence to grant management policies and Kenyatta National Hospital.
• Prepare cash forecast monthly as well as reconciliation for fund transferred and submit report.
• Work closely with other department groups on problems involving accounting systems and financial planning.
• Provides all project heads with all the necessary financial information like approved budgets, monthly and quarterly financial statements, etc for good and effective financial management.
• Implement financial policies as established by KNH and as required by the funding agency.
• Checks to ensure that all payments are authorized and relevant supporting documents are attached and that they are within the approved budget lines.
• Ensures that petty cash is available and its management is according to the set guidelines and cash counts are done from time to time.

• Registered Nurse/Higher Diploma in nursing

• Held a previous position in Maternal and Child Health or HIV testing or Family Planning

• Excellent skills with mobile technology
• Language skills: fluency in English, Kiswahili, and Luo
• Team player with ability to work closely with other study staff at the site

Duties and Responsibilities

• Recruit and enroll participants into the study
• Collect data per approved Standard Operating Procedures and input into Android tablet system
• Conduct rapid HIV testing for study participants
• Counsel women on oral HIV testing, and provide instructions for oral HIV testing, including partner HIV testing
• Counsel women on HIV prevention, Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), Family Planning, and/or prevention of mother-to-child HIV transmission
• Submit twice-weekly summaries of recruitment and enrollment into the study to the study coordinator
• Participate in twice-weekly phone call with PI and rest of study staff
