    Financial Administrator (3 months)

    The Job

    Our Financial Administrator is responsible to support the operational execution of financial functions across Tiko. Other responsibilities include:

    • Payments and expenses: You support the procurement-to-pay process and record accounts payable and receivable. 
    • Payroll support: You support payroll verification and payment of salaries to the respective banks.
    • Closing activities: You reconcile bank accounts and credit card ledgers. You liaise with your team to ensure that each month- end closing, the books of accounts are timely, complete, and correct.
    • Audit & Compliance: You ensure compliance with the accounting laws and Tiko regulations. You are responsible for the filing and safekeeping of local finance records.
    • Development: We expect you to actively participate in meetings and projects and to coordinate with your team members. We also expect you to continue to develop yourself and keep abreast of new developments.

    About You

    • You have good knowledge of accounting standards and statutory requirements. You're a logical thinker and a natural problem solver who wants to use your skillset to make an impact.

    Requirements:  

    • You hold a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
    • Financial ERP systems experience would be beneficial.
    • eTIMS knowledge is a bonus
    • Experience working with accounts payable and receivable, and reconciliation of accounts.
    • Audit experience would be a plus.
    • You are good with numbers and keen to details.

    Procurement Lead

    The job

    • As the Procurement Lead at Tiko, you will play a key role in steering and advancing our procurement processes across global locations. In this crucial role, you will ensure that our procurement strategies are not only adhered to but also continuously optimised to meet evolving needs. Through strong collaborations, you will help maintain a cohesive and effective procurement strategy that aligns with Tiko’s goals.

    Responsibilities - will include but not limited to:

    • Ensure the selection of quality vendors, securing competitive pricing through a fair and transparent process.
    • Streamline procurement operations, ensure adherence to checks and balances, and reduce the time to purchase.
    • Oversee the entire procurement process, ensuring high-value transactions are managed effectively and transparently.
    • Maintain and evolve a system of data tracking to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements across all markets.
    • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate and manage contracts to ensure compliance and advantageous terms.
    • Coordinate with local purchasers to refine procurement best practices, ensuring effective operations in both existing and new markets.
    • Oversee the management of travel and accommodation services, ensuring they are cost-effective and comply with organisational travel policies.
    • Manage the preparation and finalisation of agreements and contracts, ensuring they meet legal standards and comply with local regulations. 
    • Work closely with stakeholders in the organisation to ensure they have a positive experience when supported in their purchasing process.
    • Provide comprehensive procurement reports and analyses, using data-driven insights to continually refine our purchasing processes. 

    About you

    • You are an organised individual that is able to see the bigger picture yet keep an eye on the details at the same time. You are hands-on and practical and understand how to balance procedural requirements and reality. You possess exceptional negotiation skills with a proven ability to secure favourable terms and enhance supply chain operations. You have an excellent legal mind. You are tech savvy and analytical. When you take decisions, you do so because they are logical, practical, ethical and you can back them up with data. You understand why it is important for procurement to be an enabler to the organisation rather than a procedural blocker. You are an excellent communicator.

    Requirements:

    • At least 8 years experience in a procurement role and at least 2 in a similar role as a Manager or Lead within a multinational organisation.
    • Proven track record in setting up and managing contracting across various markets.
    • Demonstrated ability to streamline procurement processes.
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a data driven manner.
    • Experience in NGO procurement is advantageous.
    • Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.

    Data Product Manager

    The Job 

    • We are looking for a Data Product Manager reporting to the Director of Data Product. The successful candidate will be tasked with the development, implementation, and management of data-related products. This role is instrumental in defining our data strategy, promoting a data-driven culture, and ensuring data is effectively utilized for business decisions.

    Responsibilities - Will include but not limited to:

    • Develop a comprehensive strategy for data products that aligns with our business objectives and create and maintain data product roadmaps.
    • Engage with key stakeholders to ensure data product development aligns with organizational goals.
    • Monitor key performance indicators to assess the success and impact of data products.
    • Encourage collaboration across various teams, including data analysts, data engineering, machine learning, and business units, to enhance data product development.
    • Keep up with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor products to maintain our competitive edge and understand the influence of data products on our performance.

    About you

    • You are an outside-the-box thinker, and are, therefore, able to develop a vision of what a part of Tiko's product should look like and represents the end-user needs to the Data teams in order to achieve our vision.  

    Requirements:

    • 4+ years of experience being a Data Product Manager, for local, remote, and contracted partners in a distributed team
    • Strong expertise in process engineering, process flow design, and documentation, with a focus on data structure/architecture, UX/UI (User Experience/User Interface), and design best practices.
    • Exposure to developing CRM applications, including setting up governance, best practices, standards, and change management processes.
    • Proficiency in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
    • Deep understanding of digital platforms and their ability to address user needs.
    • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to convincingly present ideas to diverse audiences.

    Java Backend Engineer

    You will form an integral part of our Agile tech team who is responsible for creating and maintaining the software that allows our platform to function. You’ll also be responsible for:

    • You maintain and develop new features on our software platform. You apply the principles of software engineering to the design, development, maintenance, testing, and evaluation of our software.
    • You make sure the software you develop is secure and safe with regards to information security & personal data.
    • We expect you to actively participate in meetings and projects and to coordinate with your team members. We also expect you to continue to develop yourself and keep abreast of new developments. 
    • You document your work and make sure that your documentation is clear and understandable for future use by others.

    Requirements:  

    • You are based in Portugal/Kenya/South Africa.
    • You have a minimum of 3 years of working experience using several Java backend tools and frameworks.
    • You don’t want to just write code, you want to make it with quality and scalable.
    • Experience within Microservices, and AWS will be an advantage. 
    • You are willing to learn. We use SpringBoot, JUnit, Testcontainers, Flyway, among others (You aren't required to have experience with the specific tools we are currently using, we can help you).

    Requirements

    • 1-2 years of experience managing a team of machine learning engineers
    • 5+ years of experience designing, developing and deploying Machine Learning models in a production environment
    • Strong background in mathematics and statistics
    • Exposure to developing NLP solutions over opensource platforms
    • Exposure to common machine learning, data, math, and visualization libraries
    • Exposure to different coding environments (local, notebooks, containers) and software engineering workflows (testing, code management/Git)
    • Proficiency in Python
    • Understanding of relational databases such as SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL

    Requirements:

    • 8 - 10 years of experience in fundraising is required, and minimum 2 years of experience in a senior role such as New Business Development Director.
    • Experience working for a large (SRH) donor or extensive experience as a fundraising director for a large international (SRH) NGO.
    • A proven personal network with SRH donors, both private and government as well as a proven track record in revenue-generation from a wide variety of sources including investors/ investment funds, corporations, and  foundations.
    • You have a proven track record in successfully securing a minimum of $ 5 million per year from a diversity of major donors, corporations (especially tech-related ones), individual philanthropists and foundations. In securing this funding, you can prove you were responsible for initiating the leads as well as the strategic development of opportunities.  
    • Demonstrated knowledge of and fundamental adherence to the principles, ethics, and best practices of modern fundraising, including superior knowledge of donor relations principles and fundraising strategy.
    • Strong skills in writing persuasive and effective proposals are essential.
    • Open to travel and flexible in working hours because of the global character of Tiko. 
    • You are based in Nairobi, Kenya, or London, UK, and are willing to make weekly office visits.

    Deputy Chief Impact Officer

    The Role

    • The Deputy Chief of Impact Officer will work closely with the Chief of Impact Officer and counterpart/another deputy CIO to lead Tiko's efforts in delivering substantial impact across all the countries in which we operate. This pivotal position involves steering the strategic direction and operational execution of our platforms, ensuring we not only meet but exceed our ambitious goal of expanding from 500,000 to 2 million users.

    • Managed at least 3 million dollar budgets annually. 
    • Experience leading teams within a regional or global capacity, in a matrix, fast paced environment. 
    • Global background working in multiple countries across Africa
    • Minimum qualification - Bachelor's Degree
    • Open to travel - 25% of time spent traveling will be required.

    Service Quality Lead

    The Job

    • As the Tiko Service Quality Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing and enhance service standards across all Tiko markets, including South Africa, Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, and Burkina Faso. Your key duties include guiding Service Quality Specialists and overseeing Quality Assurance Consultants to achieve excellence in service delivery.

    Responsibilities:

    • Implement the Tiko Quality Assurance Marketplace, manage contracts, and oversee relationships and deliverables with independent quality service providers.
    • Capture and share insights across Tiko markets, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop content to enhance health service quality.
    • Create and standardise training and onboarding materials for health service providers to ensure consistent and high-quality service delivery.
    • Stay updated on trends and developments within the quality assurance sector and integrate these insights into our processes for continuous improvement.
    • Lead the Service Quality team effectively, ensuring all members are supported and aligned with Tiko's standards.

    Requeriments:

    • You are based in Kenya.
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience leading quality teams.
    • Minimum of 5-7 years experience in a quality improvement role.
    • Experience working in the health services sector (mandatory) preferably in SRH.
    • Exposure to implementing health quality improvement audits.
    • You have In-depth knowledge of modern Quality Management Systems and Processes.
    • Confident and clear English communication skills - both written and verbal.
