    Distribution Analyst

    Brief Description

    Liaison with Global Distribution System (GDS) providers to ensure optimal availability of KQ inventory globally and to achieve the lowest possible cost of distribution through contractual negotiations with GDS's and other initiatives, as well as analysis and reporting on system use to sensitize sales outlets on effective and efficient  use of Computer Reservations Systems (CRS).

    Detailed Description

    • Liaise with various GDSs to provide the best possible options for the distribution of the KQ inventory.
    • Analyze all GDS costs to identify areas of wastage.
    • Participate in implementation of projects impacting on the Reservations and Inventory System e.g. PROS, Sabre Air price and Contract Composure.
    • Budgeting, Monitoring and evaluating the 2.1 Billion Ksh worth Cost Centre (7304) expenditure to ensure it’s within Budget
    • Monthly analysis of GDS/ARS invoices to ensure accurate billing to the airline by the GDS.
    • Provide timely and accurate reports on GDS activity and recommend on strategies that can be developed to improve distribution efficiency.
    • Provide monthly reports namely Cost Centre, CRS Cost, Schedule Change Cost, Drilldown (to PNR level) and Area of Sale (Revenues against CRS costs)   to Country / Area Managers, Sales Teams, Business Performance and Revenue Management teams.

    Job Requirements

    • University graduate in a business related field.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite combined with in depth exposure to Analytical Software.
    • Excellent skills in analysis for high quality commercial solutions.
    • Proficiency in Data and systems analysis
    • IATA Certification in fares and ticketing
    • Certification in Reservations systems
    • Certification in Database structured query language (SQL).
    • Presentation skills
    • Strong team leadership skills
    • 5 years experience 3 of which must be in Airline sales,  finance or revenue management

    Technical Instructor (Airframe and Engines)

    Brief Description

    Conduct all technical courses within his / her discipline as required to meet the needs of Kenya airways and customer operators

    Detailed Description

    • Plan, develop and prepare course notes for maintenance personnel to effectively prepare them for their licences without type ratings.
    • Conduct basic aircraft systems syllabus to aircraft Maintenance personnel to enable them to acquire KCAA basic licences without type rating.
    • Prepare, administer and mark basic trial (LWTR) examinations for maintenance personnel to assess the training and knowledge impact
    • Conduct OJT on serviceable aircrafts to maintenance personnel in preparation for their KCAA licence without type rating.
    • Assess progress of the apprentices, Graduate trainees and implement remedial actions where necessary                
    • Prepare progress and assessment reports on course participants for follow up and recommendations to the manager, technical training.   

    Job Requirements

    • Diploma or Degree in Aeronautical Engineering or Equivalent 
    • At least one basic licence (Airframe or Engines)
    • Relevant basic aircraft systems training
    • Basic instructional techniques certificate
    • Demonstrated aviation maintenance experience.
    • Demonstrated ability to deliver aviation based technical training programms

    Deman Flight Analyst

    Brief Description

     Maximize passenger revenues by pro-actively analyzing market trends and passenger demand in order to manage demand forecast and develop inventory strategies on designated routes/O&Ds to meet company passenger revenue targets.

    Detailed Description

    • Monitoring, validating and influencing PROS segment forecast
    • Recognizing and pro-actively adjusting forecast to changing passenger flows due to market events, economies, schedules, competition etc.
    • Setting up and maintaining communication links with the various Sales and other relevant departments to ensure coordination and flow of feedback of market conditions and feedback
    • Monitoring booking behavior to ensure segment demand develops as expected and take corrective actions when necessary
    • Assisting Pricing Team in strategic pricing policies of each region
    • Assist the Commercial Analyst team in forecasting demand, market trends and seasonality for planning and annual financial budgets
    • Carry out tests on the show-up forecasts and optimizers’ solutions and continuously try to uncover improvements
    • Adjust and monitor overbooking levels and inputs

    Job Requirements

    • A professional degree with strong emphasis on a business related field e.g., Statistics, Economics Mathematics or Commerce.
    • Knowledge of fares, ticketing and reservation systems an added advantage.
    • Excellent skills in analysis for high quality commercial solutions.

    • Timely and accurate report on forward bookings trends in order to initiate relevant  actions
    • Action at least 90% of all cases presented by I-PROS system
    • Timely and accurate input on passenger volumes and yields on assigned routes for annual budget and monthly re-forecast
    • Accurate capacity recommendations at least one month in advance
