    Project Trainee - Supply Chain Analyst

    Basic Qualifications

    Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain related discipline, Logistics, Supply / Operations Management

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain related discipline, Logistics, Supply / Operations Management.
    • Very good knowledge of IT tools (especially MS Excel) & corporate ERP systems (ideally JDE and Manugistics)
    • Understanding of supply routes, import & export and how they affect invoicing and financial flows.
    • Strong Planning ability and personal drive.

    Job Purpose:

    The incumbent Project Trainee will be responsible for the inbound and outbound logistics planning for all the Pharma orders from various manufacturing sites and from Nairobi 3PL warehouse to the local and export customers.

    Core Responsibilities

    • Ensures that the monthly orders are aligned to the rolling forecasts and any variances promptly highlighted.
    • Liaises with LSP to ensure that the import register is promptly and periodically updated to capture the new orders with the corresponding IDFs.
    • Liaises with the Logistics Service Providers to initiate application of IDF / PPB permits once the Proforma invoice is availed to us.
    • Conducts monthly review for obsolete stocks – keeps an updated list of all short dated products with the corresponding cover duration based on the current uptake.
    • Submits the import documents and flight detail to relevant stakeholder in anticipation of inbounds from various manufacturing sites.
    • Ensures External Delivery Performance levels are met and issues on complaints, claims, returns, cancellations are escalated for prompt resolution. Liaises with LSP in updating the weekly order tracker.
    • Oversees the correctness/condition of goods received and report any short lands or damages / temperature excursions for reporting in Icargo insurance system.
    • Tracks all service related complaints raised by the GSK / distributors against the third parties and escalate these for further action.
    • Liaises with the LSP to highlight the items occupying more than 50% of the warehousing bins on a weekly basis for planning and liquidation purposes.

    The project Trainee is accountable for all inbound and outbound logistics planning including inventory rotation at 3PL based on FEFO requirement.
