    Field Public Health Volunteers

    CMMB is seeking professionals, 21 years and older, who can serve for a minimum of 6 months in the following public health volunteer positions:

    • Public Health Generalists serve in CMMBs country offices and CHAMPs sites providing support to our country directors and programs team through a range of programmatic support activities. They receive exposure to a broad base of global health and community development programs and are able to put their knowledge and skills to work in a field office setting.
    • MNCH, WASH, HIV, E-Health, Malaria Experts contribute their expertise in support of CMMB programs around the world; designing, implementing, and evaluating diverse initiatives in collaboration with CMMB Country Directors, partners and National Ministries of Health.
    • Nutritionists are needed in Peru and Zambia to support ongoing programs related to child development and health education.
    • Health Administrators provide critical support as we engage with clinical partners to improve human resources for health and facility operations. This is particularly important in Haiti where CMMB is opening the Bishop Joseph Sullivan Hospital in Cotes-de-Fer.

    Required Skills/Experience:

    • Must be 21 years old
    • Master of Public Health degree (or related field).
    • Community Health Worker Certification preferred.
    • Experience working with or knowledge of USG-supported cooperating agencies such as USAID and CDC, and international counterpart organizations useful.
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills; strong problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to be flexible and prioritize projects and tasks effectively; self-starter; takes initiative.

    Field Physician Volunteers

    Position Summary: Physicians

    General Duties and Responsibilities (specific duties will vary based on position, location and facility):

    • Examine patients or order, perform and interpret diagnostic tests to obtain information on medical condition and determine diagnosis
    • Prescribe or administer therapy, medication, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury
    • Monitor patients’ conditions and progress, and reevaluate treatment as necessary
    • Provide primary care as needed
    • Provide guidance and assistance to medical assistants and other staff
    • Plan, implement or administer health programs in hospitals or communities for prevention and treatment of injuries or illnesses

    Volunteer Field Storytellers Abroad

    Everyone has a story.

    Not everyone is lucky enough to have their story heard.

    The role of the story gatherer and teller in the field is a key role for our organization. It gives voice to the too often voiceless. It gives people the chance to have their stories heard. These stories are the most important for our community. It allows gives our donors, partners, and friends the chance to see how far their generosity travels and the very real impact it is having for women and children in the communities that we serve. The stories you will gather will also help to highlight the work that still needs to be done. They will include stories of tragedy and loss, as well as hope and possibility.

    The story gatherer will forage for stories. Sometimes they will be easy to find and other times they will reveal themselves in the most unlikely of places. It is about knowing where and how to look. But first and most importantly, it means knowing how to LISTEN. The key to any good story teller is his/her ability to listen to another person’s story.

    Your Role:

    • Gathering & Telling Stories: In words, pictures, and video. This may include blogging, storytelling, capturing photos and videos etc. Your role will including:
    • Acting as our “in-field reporter” collecting compelling stories about our beneficiaries, programs and projects, staff, and volunteers
    • Managing field programs content development for integrated fundraising/marketing campaigns and communications channels
    • Researching and preparing questions, and conducting interviews with beneficiaries, partners, staff, and volunteers
    • Collecting stories that will be shared on our website, emails, quarterly and annual reports, e-newsletters, press releases, and social media, to help get the stories of the beneficiaries to our growing community. These stories will also help to increase CMMB’s visibility and fundraising
    • Taking photos and videos
    • Processing, organizing, and archiving country office media library and sharing this content with the New York office (using Flickr, Wetransfer, or Dropbox)
    • o appropriately tagging with key information (e.g. name, ages, context, situation, services CMMB is providing, etc) and sharing with headquarters
    • Develop local capacity in country offices and field teams to train on storytelling, photography and videography.
    • Other general support with marketing operations for field office and working closely with headquarters
    • Other duties and special projects as assigned

    Required Skills/Experience:

    • Must be 21 years or older
    • Bachelor's degree, tertiary degree or higher in relevant fields - marketing, communications, journalism, photography, videography.

    Volunteer Water, Sanitation, & Hygiene (WASH) Specialist

    General Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Develop tailored sanitation and hygiene strategies and marketing approaches timprove demand and supply for improved sanitation and hygiene products and services based on a regional context.
    • Ensure regional level WASH activities are performed, implemented and expanded with consistent approaches and quality, in accordance with national and global policies and best practices.
    • Ensure that effective engagement is maintained with communities and with local government partners, tensure responsive and sustainable programming.
    • Review technical documents and other deliverables tensure alignment with overall project strategy.
    • Develop or review relevant guidelines, materials, trainings, job aids and tools tensure the technical strategies are reflected accurately.
    • Advise on and monitor technical quality of deliverables associated with sustained water and sanitation services and adoption of key hygiene behaviors.
    • Advise partners on all technical aspects of WASH activities implementation, ensuring a unified and effective approach tachieving project milestones.
    • Identify and collate evidence base of promising practices and support dissemination workshops timprove existing practices and introduce new practices and/or ideas among partners and key stakeholders
    • Provides technical assistance tdevelop and implement communication strategies and materials, through all phases from formative research, through design, media and materials production, community mobilization and evaluation.
    • Participate in relevant technical working groups and forums at the national, regional and global level.
    • Volunteer should be comfortable with performing a range of tasks outside of their SOW, when needed

    Required Skills/Experience

    • Must be 21 years old
    • Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Science, Hydrology or Environmental, Civil, Water Resources, Irrigation, Sanitary or Mechanical Engineering, Public Health or a related field associated with water supply, sanitation and hygiene behavior change.

    Preference for experience in:

    • One year of experience in health care environment or community involvement, in developing countries
    • Implementing community water system facility development, including multiple water use services
    • Implementing Community Led Total Sanitation and hygiene programming and training staff
    • Behavior change materials development
    • Sanitation marketing
    • Good interpersonal skills and ability tdevelop relationships and collaborate with local community members
    • Demonstrated strong technical programming skills.

    Volunteer Supply Chain Managers Abroad

    Currently, the organization seeks a Health Supply Chain Specialist Volunteer to take strategic leadership in supply chain management for effective program implementation. The Health Supply Chain Specialist reports to the Program Coordinator and works in collaboration with project Directors and Managers.

    General Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Develop and support implementation of supply chain management systems.
    • Facilitate training and development of supply chain teams at Facility partners for effective performance.
    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the supply chain and advice on remedial measures.
    • Ensure proper chain supply management, reporting, and administration of projects by local partners.
    • Collect, review, and disseminate reports on technical assistance activities in a timely manner.

    • Ideally 5 years of experience in medical supply chain management
