As a Platform Engineer, you will build various aspects of mSurvey infrastructure to power innumerable conversations at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Closely monitoring all platform related production systems;
• Proactively correcting, improving and optimising the mSurvey platforms;
• Developing best possible, most robust, and extensible solutions from feature requests;
• Working with Data Scientists to develop rich value added features;
• Working with DBA to create an ETL and Data Warehouse system;
• Working with Operations to automate solutions and increase service reliability;
• Developing and maintaining a world class public API

Skills and Attributes

• Bachelor of Science (Computer Science) or related engineering discipline
• Strong foundation in algorithms, data structures and distributed systems
• Loves building things and shipping them, truly making them work in the best way possible
• Extensive experience with Java serverside programming
• Advanced knowledge of JAVA, JVM Runtime, and JVM performance tuning is a plus
• Open Source project contributions are a plus
• Unix systems programming experience is a plus
• Have a strong desire to achieve mastery level as a platform engineer
• Individuals with a love for the African continent who want to be part of the team driving a business revolution

Job description

We are seeking for a highly innovative and talented Product Manager with a strong knack for connecting customer needs and product requirements, effectively communicating and influencing any changes to product to drive a high quality customer experience on our platform. This role will be part of the team charged with the exciting role of continuously innovating our products to deliver an outstanding client experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the voice of the customer in decisions regarding future products;
• Validate target markets through customer interviews and market research;
• Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by ongoing visits to customers and noncustomers;
• Communicate product strategy, plans and roadmaps;
• Control your product roadmap and scope based on a detailed understanding of needs, requirements and resources;
• Work with engineering to deliver amazing features from detailed requirements and prototypes;
• Bring a detailed eye for user experience and design to ensure features drive high adoption and customer enthusiasm;
• Conduct competitive analysis to determine product features and pricing. Translate customer feedback and market trends into clearly defined phased releases;
• Own a product area and operate autonomously on daytoday activities;
• Work closely with commercial team to understand revenue impact and collect requirements to support sales;
• Use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and drive actions;
• Write specs, manage execution, A/B test, UI/UX wireframe, and define product rollout strategy;
• Process, review and interpret large bodies of qualitative and quantitative data on usage patterns to understand user pain points and come up with solutions.

Skills and Attributes

• At least 4 years of Product Management experience;
• Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, BBIT or other technology related field;
• Experience with Agile Scrum and Kanban development methodology and practices;
• History of continuous improvement and mastery achieved through having a curious mind, drive and experimentation;
• Experience with Software as a Service (SaaS) or enterprise product management;
• Creative thinker with a passion for problem solving;
• Strong presentation and writing skills to communicate your vision;
• Experience in software engineering;
• Experience managing delivery of at least 2 software products;
• Experiencing in simultaneously managing multiple high priority projects.
