    Camp Hostess / Waiter (m/f)

    Job Description

    Reporting to : Camp Manager

    Qualifications:

    • Diploma or Degree in Hospitality management and at least 2 years of work experience of which at least 1 in a similar hospitality set up;
    • Fluent in both English and Kiswahili;
    • Ability and willingness to work with people / guests from all walks of life;
    • Proven organizational skills, meticulous when it comes to standards and a great motivator;
    • Able and willing to multitask;
    • Experience with computerized reservation systems;
    • Experience of working in a lodge will be an added advantage;
    • Excellent decision - making skills, effective problem- solving and mediation skills;
    • Analytical skills, critical reflection and learning;
    • Patient and demonstrably well versed in knowledge/skill transfer;
    • Honest, trust worthy and self-driven;
    • A good sense of humor;
    • customer/ client oriented; ability to make clients happy.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Welcome guests in a professional and engaging manner, handling guests’ inquiries, complaints and suggestions in a calm and friendly manner within set standards
    • Ensure safety and sanitation policies are followed when handling food and beverage
    • Maintain cleanliness of the restaurant, front office, bar, terraces
    • Demonstrate and facilitate a complete understanding of Restaurant Policies & Procedures and Service Standards as outlined in staff Manual
    • Make accurate stock control, inventory, daily shift stock takings and handover accordingly
    • Ensure accurate and timely reservations, checking in checking out and billing procedures and communicate accurately with the relevant departments
    • Provide clear communication and advice management on the relevant issues of the front office and housekeeping
    • Facilitate the training of trainees on attachment if necessary.

    Room Steward

    Job Description

    Key Responsibilities

    • Clean rooms according to the set out standards and method using proper detergent and assure guests are able to occupy the room in time
    • Note damaged items and faulty appliances and report promptly to your line manager
    • Communicate clearly and accurately about relevant issues with other departments
    • Keep proper stock of housekeeping materials and request restocking in time with your line manager
    • Participate in departmental staff meetings
    • Assist guest when checking in by carrying their luggage, brief them about features in the rooms
    • Maintain and observe high standards of hygiene while at work
    • Well-groomed at all times when at the workstation grounds
    • Provide room service upon request from guest or front house staff
    • Prepare rooms for the night which includes preparation of hot water bottles, ascertaining cleanliness of the room.
    • Ascertain the safety of the guests and their belongings in the Banda’s and prevent unauthorized access to the Banda’s.
    • The culture of your duty station is one of multitasking. You may be required to perform duties outside of your regular area of operation. Reasonable request need to be followed whenever the organizational need requires so and done within team spirit.
