    Application & Integration Developers

    Job Summary

    The Application Development and Integration role is responsible for building and implementing functional programs in collaboration with other technical members throughout the application development life cycle. A desirable candidate needs to be an enthusiastic software developer who is passionate about delivering systems that transform lives and add value to businesses.

    Responsibilities

    • Produce clean, efficient code based on specifications
    • Integrate software components and third-party programs
    • Verify and deploy programs and systems
    • Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing software
    • Gather and address technical and design requirements
    • Provide training and support to internal teams
    • Build reusable code and libraries for future use
    • Create technical documentation for reference and reporting
    • Support the entire application lifecycle (concept, design, test, release and support)
    • Produce fully functional applications writing clean code
    • Write unit and UI tests to identify malfunctions
    • Troubleshoot and debug to optimize performance
    • Design interfaces to improve user experience
    • Liaise with Product development team to plan new features
    • Ensure new and legacy applications meet quality standards
    • Research and suggest new products, applications and protocols
    • Stay up-to-date with new technology trends
    • Build Proof-of-Concepts (POC’s), internal tools and production systems that strike the appropriate balance of time/cost/security/performance/scale/maintainability.
    • Service the Support and QA teams as a Subject Matter Expert whenever required

    Qualifications

    • BSc in Computer science or its equivalent
    • At least three (3) years’ of relevant experience in a busy organization
    • Good knowledge of Java, C, C++, JavaScript, Python, android and kotlin Programming Languages
    • Good knowledge of Spring boot, and Angular frameworks
    • Good knowledge of software version control tools like GIT
    • Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON
    • Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
    • Strong knowledge of one or more relevant database technologies e.g. Oracle, NoSQL, MongoDB, Hadoop, KDB/OneTick, MySQL
    • Demonstrable Agile experience (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban).
    • Proficient on Linux platforms with knowledge of various scripting languages.

    Chief Technology Officer

    Responsibilities

    The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of the company.  He/she works with Executive Management to grow the company through the use of technological resources. For effective performance of the duties under the role, the job holder needs to work closely with the CIO, PMO & SMO.

    • Establish the company’s technical vision and leads all aspects of the company’s technological development.
    • Provides the company’s strategic direction, development and future growth in relation to projects.
    • Works in a consultative fashion with other department heads, such as, Production, PMO, and operations as an advisor of technologies that may improve their efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Provide leadership to department heads in a fashion that supports the company’s culture, mission and values.
    • Conducts research and case studies on leading edge technologies and makes determinations on the probability of implementation.
    • Acts as a good steward of Companies resources and ensures control of departmental budgets.
    • Evaluates new technology and makes recommendations on technological solutions
    • Consistently evaluates technical efficiency and makes changes as necessary
    • Makes presentations to board of directors and chief executive officer in relation to products and projects.
    • Set up/Monitor KPIs and IT budgets to assess technological performance
    • Coordinates, controls prioritization after a need assessment has been done.
    • Supports HR in recruitment, training, development and performance management of the team
    • Any other duty that may be assigned by the management from time to time
    • Plays a direct supervisory role over the developers. Should be constantly abreast of the progress of the developers.
    • Is responsible for allocating work and review of the work done to and by the developers.
    • Appointed checker of documentation from the CIO office – TSD and FSD.
    • Plays a role as part of approval team for the documents produced by the QA
    • 3rd line support – Further diagnosis and analysis of the incident report forwarded by the CIO office
    • Work with PMO for the effort estimation
    • Monitor and control development timelines and negotiate time lines where necessary.
    • Collaborate with CIO in research and development on new technologies, trends and innovations
    • Responsible for development of proof of concepts and demos.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/IT or its equivalent
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar position
    • Demonstrated excellence in programming using updated methodologies
    • Interpersonal skills with ability to motivate teams
    • Results oriented with attention to details
    • Demonstrated critical and strategic thinking

    Research & Development Lead

    Role Summary

    The Research & Development Lead will play a key role in directing the company in creating new and innovative products and services thus improving the company’s competitiveness.  An ideal candidate should be a curious individual who has an eye for opportunities and has ability to conceptualize solutions out of those opportunities. It is desirable that the person has a strong business orientation to assist the business teams turn the ideas into viable business ventures.

    Responsibilities

    • Advising management on matters relating to new innovations and how to develop the ideas into business cases;
    • Day to day management and administration of the Research and Development Unit;
    • Implementation and realization of the Department’s agenda in the organizations plan and objectives;
    • Keeping tabs and documenting current trends and developments in the industry with an aim of sharing information with the relevant team for discussion and adoption;
    • Identifying research innovations of products that have practical significance to the company and devise strategies for their implementation;
    • Development and validation of new products and services as per market trends;
    • Carry out critical evaluation of research projects at all stages of their implementation;
    • Advising on data processing, reporting and packaging for dissemination;
    • Establishing and maintaining linkages with beneficiaries and stakeholders of research results and services;
    • Formulation of research policies and strategies;
    • Undertaking monitoring and evaluation of the Research and Development programmes and activities.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, or related area;
    • A minimum of three years’ experience working in a research and development set up;
    • Demonstrated ability to translate business ‘problems’ into solutions
    • Good experience in research software such as SPSS or other specialist software’s.
    • Experience of working in a software development field is a must;
    • A strong team player who is focused on delivering results.
